A dual POV, small town/workplace romance that one can read within a couple hours in a single sitting. Fallen Hearts features Pia, the FMC, who moves across the country to start a new job as a hotel manager in small town Cedar Falls, only to discover the gentleman that had hired her unexpectedly passed away the week before her arrival. In his place she meets Mason, the late inn owner's son, who isn't sure if he even wants to be the new owner of his father's legacy. The story focuses on the effort Pia puts in to fitting into this new town, making new friends, and managing the inn while Mason struggles not to act on his attraction to her based on the "bachelor pact" that he created with his friends in college.
Although a cute and easy read, I do not think that this book in particular was for me. I base that solely on my personal expectations for romance books that this one did not live up to. For example, I prefer when the characters have a little more depth, and the characters in Fallen Hearts lacked the qualities that typically lead me to rate a book more than the average three stars. Even though this book seemed to be very character-focused, the main characters in particular fell flat to me. I also found the characters to be a little insta-lusty for my taste, and they didn't really get to know each other in a way that didn't revolve around that physical attraction (again, just proving that lack of emotional depth that I enjoy).
I will say that I enjoyed the author's writing style, it was easy to follow and understand, However, overall this book did not feel very memorable. I believe that with more complexity to the characters, the rest of the series could have a lot more potential.

Fallen Hearts is Pia and Mason’s small town romance story and it’s book one in The Bachelor Pact Series set in Cedar Falls. It’s a story about friendships, love and passion and it’s all about four guys and one bachelor pact of Never Fall In Love !
Pia and Mason find themselves working together and that means lines cannot be crossed but they are finding it hard to fight the mutual attraction they share. There’s no doubting the chemistry this couple have but will they cross the line and risk friendships and more …..
I fell hard and fast for Mason, I adored the camaraderie he shares with his friends, I want Pia as my new bestie and i throughly enjoyed this captivating read. Looking forward for what’s to come from Cedar Falls.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley for my honest opinion.

I received this as an arc from NetGalley and I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review.
This was an amazing workplace romance. It was a really well written story and a wonderful beginning to a new series. I love it when the first book in a series makes me feel excited to read the rest of it and this one did, I’m so excited to see each of these bachelors fall and maybe especially Cole even though he was the one who was least present in this book. This was Mason and Pia’s story and they didn’t necessarily get off to the best start but their chemistry and connection became clear early on. I really enjoyed the story and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

Cedar Falls.
"Rule one of the Bachelor Pact is simple: Never fall in love." LOL After reading this line…you know exactly what's going to happen!
Pia and Mason may just have you packing up your belongings and moving to their town!
As always, Ms. Mecca delivers sharp dialogue, fantastic characters, and the steam I've come to enjoy from her writing!
This is my first contemporary romance by Ms. Mecca and I will definitely be coming back to Cedar Falls!

Pia moves across the country for a job she is excited that will be the next step in her career and just a fresh start in general. When she meets her new boss things really don’t go over too well because he just lost his dad who would have been Pia’s true boss and things are up in the air still. Mason has his career, his life in another city to think about, and this pact he and his friends made in college, so when this instant attraction to Pia hits him like a freight train it’s not what he wanted nor expected. Mason and Pia go back and forth with their feelings and all the reason they shouldn’t dive in to this intense attraction, but in the end it’s too much to fight off, but when everything is said and done who will be left heartbroken and who will be left with regrets? This was a cute book and the friends dynamic made love each and everyone one of them, anticipating their books.

A brand new author for me. Took some time adjusting to her style of storytelling but it was a quirky, engaging read. The relationships all the characters have with each other is both endearing and fun to follow. It is truly a all cast book and I look forward to seeing the next Bachelor fall!

From a bad meet-cute to office romance, this one will give you all the feels, including wanting to throw the book at Mason when he's being an idiot.
Mason and Pia meet directly after he had just buried his father, a man who'd hired Pia to manage his inn without telling his NYPD son. Of course, the first thing Mason does when meeting Pia is to basically slam the door in her face. Not a good start to this new life Pia was determined to start for herself. After some soul searching, Mason changes his mind and decides to give her a chance despite how attracted he is to her, which he figures would probably be a bad idea. Especially considering the pact he'd made with his friends. Never fall in love. Never marry and all that stupid stuff guys think they need to avoid when they are dumb college kids. But these guys are hanging on to the pact like it's written into law.
Eventually, Mason can no longer ignore his attraction to his new manager and the two start a steamy relationship. But uncertainty about their future hangs over their heads. Mason has a choice to make. Go back to the city where his NYPD job awaits or give up the job to stay and be an innkeeper, which also means staying with Pia and breaking the pact.
The will he/won't he suspense keeps you turning pages despite wanting to shake some sense into the stubborn man. Pia is a strong character who lets him make his decision despite how much she disagrees with it. She doesn't break down and beg him to stay but allows him to figure it out for himself, always hoping he'd come back to her despite her doubts. Watching their relationship grow is truly one of the best parts about this book.

I love all the Mecca pen names. This is a new series and has a lot more angst than what I am use to from the author. That didn’t stop me from reading and loving this book. Well written as always. Good amount of steam and great characters. I can’t wait to read what happens to the rest of the guys.

Pia is new to Cedar Falls and is looking forward to starting work at Heritage Hill Inn. Unfortunately, her new boss passes away unexpectedly and in his place is his grumpy policeman son, Mason. Despite their horrible first meet-up, she somehow ends up working for him.
Mason and his close friends share a bachelor pact—promising each other that they will never ever marry. There is a whole backstory on why the four of them chose to do so and we eventually find out Mason’s reason.
But what the heart wants, nothing can stop and soon Mason and Pia are “involved” despite their workplace relationship. If you love small town romances, you will love Cedar Falls as it sounds so lovely and quaint. I wish I could visit a place like this!
Besides the romance, I loved the found family vibes among the guys and it was also good to see Pia building up her own girl gang as she assimilates well into her new home.

Four best friends and a pact for life. Stay single and avoid long-term relationships. But can Mason stay away from Pia? The moment they met there is a powerful attraction. But his job, his past and that he is her boss is against them. Steamy and powerful love story

I loved this and read it in one day! Great characters who are all more sensitive and vulnerable than they seem, a beautiful setting, friendship, new beginnings and lots of steamy moments plus some very easy on the eye gentlemen! Mason, Cole, Parker and Beck are four friends who made a pact that they would always be bachelors. When Mason’s dad suddenly dies he is left to run the family inn However he had no idea that his late father had employed Pia to help run it and when she turns up to start work…… For me this had the right balance of serious, humorous and steamy moments. I loved the interactions between the four men and also how Pia came across as a strong woman who can definitely stand up for herself. Thanks to Boldwood Books and Netgalley for the ARC

Mason returns to Cedar Falls comes with mixed emotions following his father’s unexpected death. But having to work alongside the distractingly beautiful Pia to run and restore my family’s inn, is a test he could do without.
A new series & a lovely starter, the author is one of my must read authors & one of the few authors whose books I love no matter the genre. Once again she didn’t disappoint with this contemporary romance. I loved both Mason & Pia, the chemistry was sizzling & it was definitely insta-lust which deepened into something more. I was totally engrossed in their journey to a HEA. I look forward to the rest of the series & how & when the other guys break the Bachelor Pact
I voluntarily read and reviewed a special copy of this book; all thoughts and opinions are my own

Another great start to a new small-town series. I adore the relationships between all of the characters and look forward to reading about the other three members of the "pact". If you like fun, flirty dialogue and steamy, ex-military heroes, grab a copy of Mecca's new book. You will NOT regret your choice.

This is a fun and sexy read, perfect for a lazy afternoon with a bit of angst and a fantastic ending. Definitely worth picking up. I loved this! . . . This book had cute lines, all the feels and just enough drama.

A bachelor pact between 4 friends who don’t believe that love is real and lasting… the support and banter between the 4 friends is top notch. I loved seeing Mason fall for Pia, and fight the attraction. I REALLY loved when he finally gave in. I’m looking forward to the other books in this series! I definitely recommend this book.

After being passed up for a promotion, Pia moves across the country to work at a struggling inn. Between being hired and moving to town, the man that hires her has passed away, leaving the inn to his grumpy son. Mason is living the bachelor life, taking time away from the NYPD to get his father's affairs in order. His friends move in to the inn with him, and he's less than welcoming to Pia at first.
Pia and Mason's chemistry is undeniable, and the found family friendships in this book are heartwarming.
A great start to a new series by Cissy Mecca!

This is a delightful, slightly spicy book that introduces us to a pact sworn by lifelong friends to ensure that they could avoid heartache and never fall foul of catching feelings for a woman. Having returned to Cedar Falls following the death of his father, Mason Bennett is determined to get his family's inn back into running order and then sell it on. Being a hotelier was never on the cards for this committed bachelor. Still in a tight-knit group with former college pals, he was committed to their Bachelor Pact to remain single and not in a relationship with anyone. Besides, he was only in town for a brief spell before he could return to his job as a cop.
Meanwhile, Pia had been offered the job of hotel manager by his now deceased father, and Mason knows nothing about the hiring. So, it’s no big surprise when she receives a lukewarm reception when reporting for duty. Of course, to add to the tension, Pia is gorgeous and looks like the kind of girl who could tempt Mason away from his pact.
This was a fun read, and even though I instinctively knew how it would end, it was a lot of fun reaching that conclusion. There was plenty of sizzle as Mason and Pia tried but failed to ignore the burning attraction that was growing between them. This may be a spicy romance, but the romance was definitely there and not overwhelmed by the sizzle.

In this book, Mason returns to Cedar Falls with no intention of staying long. However, his plans are upended when he is forced to work alongside Pia, a determined and captivating woman his late father hired to manage and restore the family inn. While he has always been committed to the “Bachelor Pact”—a promise to himself to remain unattached—his growing connection with Pia challenges his long-held beliefs about love and relationships.
As they work together to renovate the inn, their undeniable chemistry sparks tension, banter, and unexpected emotions. Despite his initial reluctance, he begins to see Pia as more than just a business partner. But with his past influencing his fear of commitment, he struggles to open his heart.
Set in the charming small town of Cedar Falls, Fallen Hearts blends heartfelt romance with themes of personal growth, second chances, and the courage to embrace love. With Mecca’s signature storytelling, readers can expect a warm, engaging narrative filled with deep emotions, community spirit, and a romance that unfolds in a beautifully scenic setting.

Resisting love:
This was a fairly enjoyable push and pull, slow burn romance where the main characters eventually realise that it's best not to fight love. I unfortunately found it to be rather one note, with the same issues holding throughout the story, which caused my interest to wane. However I thought that the ending was really sweet and I was so glad when Pia and Mason finally sorted everything out. I look forward to seeing the rest of the guys break their bachelor pact.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.

An enjoyable small town read that is nicely written. The author did a wonderful job writing a story that keeps readers engaged from beginning to end.
