Nothing Good Happens After 2am by Niamh Hargan is a story that takes place over twenty years and features the relationship between El and Robbie who meet working at the exclusive cocktail bar, Love and Death, in London. The book follows the characters as they move between jobs, countries and relationships and end up back where they first started.

At first I wasn’t sure if a story set around two cocktail makers would have legs, but by around a third of the way through the book I was fully invested in El and Robbie’s stories and glad I stuck with it. The introduction of new locations and characters keeps the story feeling fresh I liked how the smaller characters stayed in the story until the end. I think the book will appeal to anyone who enjoys a well plotted romance set over a long period of time, like One Day.
