Another stunning enjoyable book from Carol. Set in Mallorca in 2001 with the middle revisiting the past. Plenty of drama amongst the romance with well developed characters alongside a few villains. A little predictable in places but flowed along well. A definite holiday read to escape with.

This is a glamorous, escapist novel that blends love, betrayal, and ambition with just the right touch of intrigue. Camille, once caught between two men at college, built a successful fashion empire with her husband Andre, only to lose him in a tragic car accident. Their son Lucas, who survived the crash with a lasting scar, forges his own path as a talented chef in Mallorca, where childhood summers with his grandmother left deep roots.

As Lucas reconnects with his old friend Paulo, navigates his relationship with his girlfriend Elle, and crosses paths with a colorful cast of characters—including aspiring actress Stephanie, the glamorous Catherine, and others tied to his family’s past—secrets, rivalries, and shifting loyalties come to light. Meanwhile, Camille and Nicolas (her first love and Andre’s old friend) continue to play pivotal roles in the unfolding drama.

Fast-paced and filled with romance, suspense, and vividly drawn settings, it is as much about family ties and second chances as it is about love and ambition. With its mix of glitz, emotional tension, and a lively ensemble cast, this is a page-turner perfect for readers who enjoy stories of passion, betrayal, and resilience set against a glamorous international backdrop.

Another fantastic book from Carol Kirkwood. Set in the glamorous world of high fashion with celebrity stars, it’s an intriguing glimpse into these worlds. There is also pain and heartbreak for Camille, the female lead character. Set in beautiful Mallorcan towns and hotspots there’s blackmail and betrayal as well as glittering set pieces. This is an excellent summer read which I thoroughly recommend.

This is my favourite novel so far. I thought I knew who it was but boy was I wrong I love how the characters all linked in. Lucas was a lovely character and the love triangle worked so well

Ms Kirkwood’s writing continues to go from strength to strength, delivering a rich mix of mystery and romance that drew me in from the start. Set on the idyllic island of Majorca, away from the bustling crowds, the setting is beautifully described and perfectly complements the intrigue within the story. Camille’s return to the island to launch the new face of her fashion house, in partnership with American Athletics, sets the stage for glamour, secrets and unexpected revelations.

The inclusion of the occasional celebrity reference adds a touch of sparkle, while the shifting focus between past and present builds a compelling and layered narrative. Beneath the warm Mediterranean sun, lies and deceit simmer, threatening to spill over at any moment. The characters are engaging, the pacing is strong and the blend of suspense with romance makes this an entertaining and satisfying read.

I so pleased during the long summer holidays that this popped into my in box from the publisher and NetGalley.

A great summer read, I am familiar with Carol's writing having reviewed her novel Under A Greek Moon forNetGalley.

This novel is set in Mallorca and is so glamourous- fashion and film stars, and a chef with his heart set on the covetted Michelin star.

Carol writes a good story with fab characters.

Camille has planned a wonderful show on the island and where her only son is running a sucessful resturant. All sounds perfect but is it ? Camille past is catching her up and is someone trying to rain on her parade?

We learn from the past from the characters journeys from Paris to the Big Apple.

A great holiday read so recommended.

Loved this book. Beautifully written, well developed characters, beautiful locations of Paris and Mallorca and a book which drew the reader in from the start. A family saga of the highest standard . Camille, Andre , Nicolas and Lucas were the main characters. The first three meeting at college., and this was their story along with a strong supporting cast. Plenty of plot twists and secrets.
Pure escapism!

You know its summer when a Carol Kirkwood book appears and I was starting to worry there wasn't going to be one this year but alas here it is!

This summers read is set in Majorca & France and is everything you want from a summer read - glamour, locations, fashion, great characters and romance.

I really liked the characters in this one and was invested early on. I LOVED the cameo from Catherine Zeta Jones!

There's a great plot line and enough romance, intrigued, and mystery to make you fly through this one, hopefully whilst on a sunlounger!

An entertaining novel about fashion, love and cheating husbands! Camille was at college with Andre and Nicolas, she first fell for Nicolas, but then Andre swept her off her feet with charm and visions of their future together. The threesome ended up working together setting up what was to become a very successful atelier in France, called CamilleAndre. We join the story when Andre has been killed in a car crash, with their son Lucas managing to escape death, but left with a huge scare on his face. Lucas is the chef in a restaurant in Mallorca where Camille's grandmother had looked after Lucas during school holidays when the parents were too busy building their company. There is a reasonably fast paced/page turning intriguing, suspenseful scenario that plays out between Lucas and Paulo his old Mallorcan school holiday friend, Lucas's girlfriend Elle ,Isobel and Stuart, Catherine Zeta Jones (!), Stephanie the budding actress and Camille and Nicolas. Quite a cast of characters but not so many you get confused!
I enjoyed the read, being swept away to sunny climates and a bit of glamour!

Meet Me at Sunset by Carol Kirkwood was a sweet and beautifully written book from start to finish and I loved reading this book. It was just perfect for your holidays or just to get away from everything. This book was set in Mallorca, and Carol describes the atmosphere of Mallorca, it's beautiful scenery, the colour of the sea and the sun, You even get some of the island's food specialities, which was great, I thought I was back on my holiday to Mallorca. Carol made this story come alive.

💙 Well Done Carol 💙

Another great book from Carol Kirkwood. This is a family saga with a strong head of family tying to hold it all together. The book starts introducing the myriad of great character s that all dance around the matriarch Camille, the head of the family and creative brain behind the Camille bag. The book has the old fashioned glamour of the 1920s with great hair, food and sweeping vistas. There is also the underlying intrigue and grubby money and misremembered accidents and events. There is also the undercurrent of romance, for Camille as well as for those around her as she comes to terms with what is happening to her and what the future might bring for them all now she is widowed.

Another great book by this author - really enjoyed it. Plenty of characters, but not too many to get confusing and their stories mix together well. Fabulous settings (definitely made me want to go back to Majorca!) and some great storylines which all met together well in the end. Great holiday read - highly recommended if you want a bit of escapism!

Thank you to Net Galley and the publishers for allowing me to read this in exchange for an honest review, which is what I have given.

This new novel by Carol Kirkwood is the perfect holiday read.
Set in Mallorca, it really immerses the reader in the atmosphere of the island, the scenery and sun, and even some of the food specialities.
At the centre of the story is Camille Fontaine, owner of a very successful couture house she founded with her now deceased husband André. She is in Mallorca for the show of her new collection and new partnership with the fashion house run by Nicolas, her first boyfriend and current lover. There is a lot of glitz, many rich and famous, her son's successful restaurant to be proud of and the excitement of the new collection. But behind all this is a series of secrets that come back from the past to haunt Camille and the glitzy romance becomes a mystery novel with plenty of nasty characters.
I enjoyed the novel and, although the ending did not come as a surprise, it had a nice tempo and kept me turning the pages. Perfect moments of escapism, whether reading on holiday or getting into your bubble on a crowded train.

Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Collins for giving me the opportunity to review this book. All opinions are my own.

Romance and secrets in Mallorca. Since Camilla’s husband died, she feels unable to fully commit to her new partner, Nicolas, to his great frustration. Isobel regrets that her husband’s not keen on them starting a family. Is he serious about her? The two couples meet up in Mallorca, where some very famous celebrities come into their orbit, not to mention a chef with a star-struck partner. A fun holiday read.
