Carol Kirkwood’s fifth novel, Meet Me at Sunset, is a sun-drenched escape into romance, secrets, and self-discovery. Set in the idyllic beauty of Majorca, the story follows Camille Fontaine, a successful designer fleeing heartbreak. As she navigates betrayal, blackmail, and unexpected love, Kirkwood crafts a tale rich in glamour and emotional depth. Inspired by real-life people-watching and infused with cinematic charm—think George Clooney as the dashing Nicolas—the novel delivers a perfect blend of intrigue and escapism
Whether you're curled up on a rainy day or basking in summer warmth, Meet Me at Sunset is a delightful read that leaves you dreaming of Mediterranean evenings and second chances.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers, HarperCollins, for an ARC in exchange for an honest review

This was a book that once I started I could not put it down. Carol Kirkwood is an exremely talented author who understands how to keep the reader wanting more. The descriptions f the scenery across all the places but especially in Mallorca was so real that it became almost magical. The characters were totally dysfunctional but woven so well into the story. Personally I did not like some of the characters as they were beautifully described as bad people but all of the characters were easy to understand their emotions and actions, both good and bad.
I don't read romance novels per se but Carol Kirkwood has managed once again to write a mystery story revolving around romantic emotions. The outcomes were very predictable but that added to the whole story.
A great summer read while relaxing on the beach and feeling warm inside from the sun and the story

Ms Kirkwood’s style of writing is going from strength to strength. Here she has produced a strong mystery novel, which combined with romance both past and present, makes for a compelling and engaging novel. There is the occasional mention of an A-lister which adds a bit of class. Set on the idyllic island of Majorca away from the bustling crowds, Camille prepares to launch the new face of the Camille Andre fashion house and the partnership with American Athletics, with celebrities flying in from all points of the globe. Beneath the surface are lies and deceit bubbling away. A most enjoyable and entertaining read.
My thanks to NetGalley and the publishers HarperCollins for this ARC for review.

This was a very entertaining read – the kind of book you can easily lose yourself in. The plot is wildly far-fetched at times, but that’s part of the fun. It has the drama and twists of a soap opera, with plenty of over-the-top moments that keep the pages turning. If you’re looking for something realistic, this won’t be it, but if you want pure escapism with plenty of tangled relationships and dramatic turns, this definitely delivers. Perfect for when you want to switch off and enjoy a bit of chaos!

Well yet another very enjoyable read from Carol Kirkwood. As the previous books it was very well written with an engaging storyline set in Majorca. Excellent holiday read, a real page turner. Quite a disjunctional set of characters, and quite an obvious ending, but thoroughly enjoyable. Thank you NetGalley for the advanced copy.

Perfect holiday reading!! Gorgeous escapism from the Spanish island of Mallorca, full of glamour, film stars, fashion industry icons, models and an aspiring Michelin chef. This books wraps you up in a journey all the way to the end!! Drama, blackmail, secrets and affairs this book has it all. Beautifully written with wonderful characters.
Camille has planned a spectacular show and launch on Mallorca where her only son runs a successful restaurant. But it appears her past is catching up with her and without the love of her life by her side she is struggling. Who is trying to bring her down?
The book includes flashbacks to the past as the shared history is uncovered of the remarkable journeys the characters have been on from Paris to New York.
Loved this book! Full of magic, easy to be swept along and had me guessing for quite a while!
Hugely recommended and loved!
Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Collins for the read, greatly appreciated.

4 stars
It started a bit like a Karen Swan novel, lots of name dropping and monied place naming.
It wasn't a bad thriller though a bit obvious and I realised I didn't really like any of the characters, they were all very flawed. Camille was a selfish workaholic, Andre a philander, Nicolas a bit of a door mat dependant on his love for Camile. Isobel had been taken advantage of, fairly obvious that Stuart was a player., Lucas was an ex playboy and layabout, Stephanie damaged by her mother, Elle a gold digger, Paolo chip on his shoulder and riven with jealousy.
I wondered if Catherine Zeta Jones had been asked about her part in it?
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

An enjoyable read, perfect to lose yourself in. Once you start you don't want to put it down. Set on Mallorca in early 2000s we meet Camille who was widowed 4 years earlier. Her son Lucy's was badly injured in the same accident

Thank you for allowing me to review this book. Another excellent story from Carol Kirkwood. I enjoyed the characters and the setting. A great holiday read. I look forward to reading more from Carol Kirkwood.

As a great Carol Kirkwood fan I was looking forward to reading her latest book, and wasn’t disappointed. As soon as you begin reading the first page, you enter a world of glamour, mystery and intrigue.
The setting is the beautiful sun drenched island of Mallorca. Camille, a famous fashion designer is there to launch her new designs and spend time catching up with her son Stuart. She is at the top of her career, and has a great relationship with her son, but untold secrets and blackmail are beginning to overwhelm her. Pressures increasing as Camille’s new collection is about to launch.
It is several years since her husband Andre was killed in a car accident, and the book goes back in time to when she was younger, exploring her relationship with her partner Nicholas, and her evolving career. However, Andre enters her life. He is driven, passionate and exciting, and she falls madly in love with him.
There is also a backstory regarding Stuart’s restaurant and partnership with his old friend Paulo. All is not as it seems, and as the stories unfold, you are drawn into the drama with its twists and turns, unable to put the book down.
This is another amazing read from Carol Kirkwood, which I was unable to put down. Recommended.

Every picture tells a story is so true in this case. Glorious cover and a wonderful, gripping book. I could hear Carol reading this to me in my head whilst reading.

From the very first page I was hooked on this roller coaster of a ride from Carol Kirkwood telling the story of Camille, Lucas, Isabel and Stephanie whose lives are intertwined in the beautiful setting of Mallorca/Majorca. It's one of my favourite islands and I couldn't put it down. What was the secret that happened that faithful night. It all kept my attention after I turned page after page, wanting to know more about this world I had just discovered. This star studded book including some very famous names is the perfect summer read. I wanted to keep on reading more and see where these characters lives would go.
Fabulous job, Carol, and the cover is stunning!

Carol Kirkwood never fails to disappoint and has now established herself as an author as well as a weather presenter. I’ve read all her previous novels so was delighted to receive an advance copy of this latest one. Thank you to net galley and the publisher..
This latest story is set mainly in Mallorca with some scenes in Paris. It’s in the glitzy glamorous world of haute couture fashion and film stars with yachts, fast cars and five star hotels being the norm.
The book is a great blend of mystery, double crossing and love stories. It’s a great escapist summer read and I highly recommend it.

Camille runs a successful fashion house which she, her husband and a close friend started 20 years before. Sadly her husband was killed in a car accident 4 years before. She is now hosting a fashion show of her latest designs in Mallorca. Nicolas, the close friend, has proposed.
Her son, Lucas, runs a successful restaurant on the island. They have it all, what can go wrong?
Isobel arrives on the island with her plastic surgeon husband to have a two week break. Unbeknown to each of them, they both have an agenda for coming to the Island.
Paolo, Lucas's business partner seems to be a bit distant with him and there are some major hiccups with the restaurant that he is supposed to have under control.
Who is sending Camille letters?
Things all come to a head as the run up to the show gets underway.
A nice read which wants you to keep reading.

Another wonderful read from Carol Kirkwood. A real page turner with a cast of intriguing characters full of secrets and lies galore.
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the read in return for an honest review. It was a pleasure.

Carol Kirkwood once again transports us to the glamorous world of the rich and famous, this time based in Mallorca, Paris and New York.
Camille is a renowned fashion designer, famous for her companies ‘must have’ luxury bag that she developed with her late husband and business partner Andre.
Four years on from his death Camille is about to launch her latest collection, a collab with an American sports company. But in the run up to the launch a threat to everything she holds close rocks her to the core.
Who from her past would want to destroy her and why?
A most enjoyable read based on the beauty of Mallorca, Paris and New York. This is your escapist summer read. Highly recommended.

I loved this story - full of celebrities, glitz, glam, secrets and lies.
My thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book.

"Meet Me at Sunset" is a thriller come romance from Carol Kirkwood. This novel is mostly set in Mallorca, although the cast of characters is multi-national. The rich and famous collide with some ruthless criminals, with action centred on a fashion show where the story reaches it's climax. This is superior chick-lit, perfect for chilling out on holiday.
Thanks to Net Galley and the publishers for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Another lovely story from Carol. This one was such a pleasure and could be a beach read so easily. It flowed along gently and the setting was perfect. My thanks to netgalley and the publisher's for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.
