Thank you to HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter and NetGalley for the ARC of The Proposal Project 💌
I stumbled upon Donna’s book, Hate Mail last year which instantly became one of my favourite 5⭐️ reads so when I got approved for this ARC, I quite literally screamed.
This story follows Priscilla and Oliver who are rivals planning their best friends’ proposal. They’ve always been rivals since Oliver embarassed Priscilla when she drunkenly confessed that she’s “obsessed” with him. Now, Priscilla’s best friend, Tina, and Oliver’s best friend, Ryan are both planning to propose to each other. In a race to get their side to propose first, an unlikely secret alliance forms to execute the perfect proposal.
Reading about Oliver and Priscilla’s story brought me back to why I truly enjoy romance. This romcom will have you giggling and swooning like crazy! I loved how the romance was developed between our MCs and found myself holding my breath over the flirting and banter. I found the story and pacing of the book to be so well-written and I fell in love with all of the characters. I saw the ending coming and was thrilled with it since it pulled at all of my heartstrings.
If you love fake dating, forced proximity and enemies to lovers, you’ll enjoy this one! Such a sweet, cute, fluffy romance read for the spring or summer. The Proposal Project releases on June 19 💘

Thank you to HarperCollins & NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review
I fear my review won't be very constructive because the whole time i just felt like i was playing episode but in a book format

The Proposal Project was absolutely adorable. The dislike-to-love fake dating trope worked so well. Tina & Ryan were great secondary characters, they didn't fade into the background in comparison to Oliver & Priscilla. Oliver & Priscilla were so cute together, their feelings felt well developed throughout the pace of the book.

This is one of those books that will remind you why you love romance books. It's funny, sweet, and heartfelt. I actually connected Priscilla's career situation which allowed me to root for her from the beginning (literally felt like Donna followed me around and wrote about what happened in my career). Once Oliver enters the story I was all for them getting together. The shenanigans they get themselves into as the book goes on gives the perfect backdrop for enemies to lovers tension and banter. Such a great book for fans of that trope!

Cute grand dual proposals! I def didn't think Priscilla and oliver were going to pull it off
Priscilla is down on her luck and fired from her dream job when her friend Tina hires her to plan a proposal to her boyfriend Ryan. Tina wants it grand and loud. Oliver is also helping Ryan plan his proposal to Tina. Can they team up and surprise both Ryan and Tina?
Fake dating
Found family
Grand gesture
Thank you NetGalley for the arc!

DNF @ 19%.
What didn't quite work for me:
- the FMC was super immature and unlikeable. She would get really angry at the MMC just because he said something cocky? I don't really understand.

Synopsis- Priscilla and Tina are best friends. Priscilla is an event planner, and Tina is ready to do a grand proposal to her boyfriend Ryan, who happens to be best friends with one of Priscilla’s enemies, Oliver. Princilla agrees to plan Tina's proposal but does not realise that Ryan and Oliver are planning a surprise proposal for Tina also.
Will they work together?
Tropes- Fake dating, forced proximity, meddling friends, one bed, enemies to lovers, cabin getaway, millionaire boss.
Spice Level- 3
The Proposal Project has summer rom-com vibes. It is an excellent read with a cocktail on the beach. If you are like me, with no holiday booked, garden vibes will do.
I enjoyed this book and completed it in a matter of days.
The characters are lovable and funny, the book cover is gorgeous.
Thank you for the advance copy.
Release dates:
Ebook/audio- June 27th 2025
Paperback-uk- July 3rd 2025
Paperback- US- November 11th 2025.

A cutie rom-com with all the classic tropes you know and love: fake dating, secret keeping, forced proximity. Pricilla and Oliver are helping plan proposals for their besties. They realize their forces would be better combined than separate. To pull it off, they fake date to account for the time spent together. Romance ensues!
Thad a great time reading this book. It was an easy read, but also was so fun to see all the extravagance. Obviously there's
miscommunication, but it was balanced well.
Definitely a bit spicy! All in all just a solid romcom with everything you want in it.
Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC!

This book was so good and so funny! I loved it! I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a quick, cute and funny story with a bit of spice. I fell in love with Priscilla and Oliver. The characters were lovely and really the humour in this one is top tier. I think it’s the first time while reading a book that I found myself laughing so hard at certain scenes that I ended up crying of laughter! 5 stars for me.
Thank you NetGalley and HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter for this ARC!

After reading and loving Donna Marchetti's Hate Mail, I couldn't wait for her newest installment. The Proposal Project pits event planner Priscilla up against Oliver, both trying to plan proposals for their best friends. When the two realize what they are doing, they decide to team up, creating one joint proposal but under the ruse that they are dating, in order to justify spending time with the other to their friends.
So ya'll know I love a good fake dating story. And it's been so long since I read a book like this that made me laugh out loud! Our two main characters were perfect together and had electric chemistry. This author has a relaxed style of writing making this book light and sweet and so easy to binge! I'm already excited for her next book!

The Proposal Project is a fun rom-com. This book had a lot of flirty banter that was a great little palette cleanser for me.
Priscilla is an event planner and loves her job. When she loses her job and her best friend, Tina, convincingly gets her to help plan her proposal to her boyfriend Ryan. Come to find out Ryan has his own proposal in mind. Teaming up with Ryan's best friend Oliver to plan a joint proposal, but hiding it as they go along.
This is the second book l've read by this author. I found the writing to be on the lighter side, which is a palette cleanser for me. The writing was easy to follow and kept me engaged. It had me laughing at the antics between them.
The Proposal Project was a light and and fun read with a little spice and a lot of banter. Overall I enjoyed this book.

I loved this book - lovely romance with a little bit of spice.
Easy reading and I enjoyed all of the characters.
Lovely summer read while relaxing in the sun

This was a fun and quick read.
The characters did feel a bit cartoonish at times, and the proposal plot was a bit outlandish for me, but it was still an enjoyable read and had some of my fave tropes - being one bed and forced proximity. The miscommunication trope was also present, but actually executed in a way that felt more natural instead of creating fake drama for the sake of the plot.
Thank you to One More Chapter and NetGalley for this eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Priscilla is hired by her friend Tina to help her plan the perfect proposal for her boyfriend Ryan. Little do they know that Ryan is planning to propose to his girlfriend himself. So Priscilla decides to join forces with Oliver - Ryan's best friend - and plan a joint proposal together.
This is my second book by this author - I absolutely adored "Hate Mail" which was also a reason for me to request this ARC. And I can happily say that I was not disappointed.
"The Proposal Project" drew me in from the start. It's a nice and pleasant story with funny situations, simple dialogues, and cute moments. The love aspect of the story was handled brilliantly - it didn't happen too quickly, it developed at a perfect pace, and the tension between the two characters was palpable with each page, and the banter between the characters only added a touch of humor to it which simply made it perfect. I also really liked the characters of Tina and Ryan - after all, without them this whole situation wouldn't have happened. The only thing missing - for me - was Oliver's POV, I'd like to look into his head and know his thoughts at certain moments, apart from that I have no other complaints.
I definitely recommend it to fans of romantic comedies. It allows you to escape reality for a few hours.

Thank you to One More Chapter, HarperCollinsUK and Donna Marchetti for a copy of The Proposal Project in exchange for an honest review.
This was my first time reading a Donna Marchetti book and genuinely I loved it. It was quirky, funny and wholesome. The story was great, I loved the characters and everything flowed really well. Oliver is a sweetheart, I adored him.
I would have loved to have had a moment where Priscilla's parents acknowledged her success and she could have her "see i could do it" moment.
The dynamics between the FMC and MMC were pretty believable, you could tell he was wanting way more that a fake relationship. This was a definite 'he falls harder' trope and I was living for it.
This has made me want to pick up more of this authors work. I will definitely be recommending this for anyone wanting a nice romance read.

Thank you publisher and Donna Marchetti for allowing me a proof of The Proposal Project.
I enjoyed the premise of the book and the connection between our two characters. However, personally, this book was not for me. I found Priscilla to be childish and irritating. She was very hard to relate to because I found her to be so immature that it totally took me out of the story. She didn’t feel like a real fleshed out person. She didn’t feel like someone with actual experience dealing with responsibilities. To me, she felt like a caricature of a real person. It made it very difficult to get lost in this story.
The same nearly goes for Oliver. Other than his looks I’m not sure what else there is here.
It all just felt very cartoony and not like real people.
There’s obviously people out there who are going to love this and love the escapism of this and these characters. But I just couldn’t get passed the fact that I felt no real adults would interact and behave this way.
Thank you so much for the opportunity to read and review.

I absolutely loved Hate Mail by this author so I was excited for her next novel and it is a cute one!
Priscilla has just lost her job and her best friend Tina coaxes her into starting her own events planning business. Tina wants to be Priscilla's first client and hires her to plan an elaborate marriage proposal (including a flash mob!) to her boyfriend Ryan.
Little does Tina know, Ryan is planning on proposing to her also. Priscilla accidentally discovers this fact from Oliver, Ryan's best friend, who Priscilla is not too fond of. Priscilla does not want Tina's plans ruined so she and Ryan put their feelings aside and begin to plan a double proposal.
To cover their tracks and explain why they are spending so much time together, they pretend to be dating so Tina and Ryan don't question things.
Although the story was cute in itself, I felt like I wasn't particularly interested in the proposal planning plot which took me out of the story. I did enjoy the development between Priscilla and Oliver, especially them eventually communicating about what caused the dislike way back when they first met.

Thank you, Donna Marchetti, Netgalley & harper Collins uk for sending me this arc
If you want a romcom with great humour, enemies to lovers, forced proximity & fake dating this book is for you!
I loved this book, it everything you want in a cute romcom, I laughed & swooned over the main characters, the side characters were iconic too.
Priscilla & Oliver’s relationship is full of ups & downs but also full of humour & cuteness. Priscilla is a very determined FMC with a huge heart & Oliver the MMC is a cheeky chap with a kind soul, what more could you want?
Highly recommend for everyone to add this book to your current tbr!

A perfect light hearted goofy and a bit irritating but in a good way. This haters to fake dating and then to lovers is a perfect weekend read where you don't want to get into the book too much and just stay with it for the vibes.

I read Donna’s first book, Hate Mail, on a whim and absolutely loved it. When I saw this book was available to request on NetGalley I jumped at the chance! I loved the back and forth banter/teasing between Priscilla and Oliver. While reading this book, I listened to the song Mystical Magical by Benson Boone and it gave me Oliver vibes. If you want a quick, fun read pick this book up!
