This is a nice, cosy summer read. I loved the description of the croissants, I would willing buy them.
The book is set in St. Aiden, Cornwall, where some of the previous books are set. You don't need to have read the previous books though. The best character is Pumpkin the pony. I enjoyed reading this book.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for my arc.

The Cosy Croissant Cafe ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

After Betty’s life takes an unexpected turn, she goes to stay at her sisters coastal cottage in small town St Aiden. Much to her surprise, upon arrival it is already occupied by Miles, the man who was so rude to her at her sister’s wedding.

This books is a great enemies to lovers story, featuring a lot of personal growth for the characters. I truly enjoyed this novel that came out in April. Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity!

The Cosy Croissant Café is a perfect easy summer read, and I will definitely read more by Jane Linfoot in the future. This is book 5 in the Little Cornish Kitchen series which I hadn’t read any other books in, but it made no difference as it was easily read as a standalone. I did really enjoy it though so I may well go back and read the others and hope to see more in the series soon.

This story revolves around Betty who goes to look after her sister’s cottage in Saint Aiden and finds someone from her past already staying there. This was a slow burn romance where the two main characters end up in business together by using both of their strengths to plug a gap in the market. Betty is eccentric and free spirited whereas Miles is very type A so in theory, it shouldn’t work, but somehow it does.

Thank you to that NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book.

A bit boring, to be honest.
In a genre overflowing with cozy, feel-good stories, this one just didn’t stand out. The setting was fine, the characters were okay, but nothing really pulled me in or made it memorable.
It wasn’t bad, but it also didn’t bring anything new or particularly charming to the table. In a crowded field of similar books, this one unfortunately fades into the background.

An ok read but didn't really grabbed me. Really wanted to like it with that cute cover.
Some edition would have make this better, very repetitive sentences and confuse sentences.

I always adore Jane Linfoot books and was struck straight away by how cozy this was as we meet Betty who has arrived at Boathouse Cottage with her pony Pumpkin, only to find it already inhabited. I ate up the story of her sister, obviously going through something in her marriage, as Betty is landed with Miles, an old acquaintance who has been told by Betty’s sister’s husband that he can stay there.

While I really enjoyed the gorgeous settings and descriptions I found this book unfortunately tried to do a bit too much, on reading pony I’d assumed countryside not beach, cafe I’d thought more of a cafe book, and I found some of the book too heavy especially near the start when we were confronted with an uncomfortable scene.

Sating that I love Jane Linfoot and really enjoyed so much about this book. Thanks to Netgalley for the advance review, all opinions are my own

This was a light and sweet read, quick and not complex. It started out kind of slow for me, and the build up didn't quite resolve in a satisfying way.

This is a very sweet story that shows the strong bond of family, which does not include only people but also our beloved animals! It vividly describes the new beginning after a loss, the strength and courage as well as the love that appears in people and moments when you least expect it!

So, if you are looking for a feel-good story to read this summer then this is your book! It is a family story, with a lot of humor and of course there is no lack of romance! You will surely have a great time reading it! Lie down on the beach, enjoy your favorite soft drink and of course have some crispy croissants with you!

arc review 📖

I expected some cute, cosy, and romantic longing but what I found was a slow and boring entry with not much intrigue. I really tried and honestly felt myself daydreaming about other things instead of reading the text.

I attempted several times and it just had no 'drive' to keep my interest in the story.

Sorry 😞

For some reason, this one just took a lot for me to get into. I think I had something to do with the style of writing that just did not appeal to me, but it could’ve been the time in which I read it. I am a mood reader after all.

Without giving anything away, it was cozy, which I was looking for, but it just did not hit the right button.

I did like this book and the overall story. Betty and Miles were doomed from the beginning being stuck in the same cottage. PUMPKIN giving attitude to Miles from the start is just gold and he definitely deserves it!!! The side eyes pumpkin gave is just perfect and will be forever my favorite character! I gave this book only three starts because it felt rushed with too much information but also not enough details about her sister. I wished her story was included more or maybe this is becoming a series?
I will definitely recommend this book for anyone who wants a quick romantic read.

The book made me smile and laugh so much! The Cosy Croissant Café is such a heartwarming story about love, friendship, and enjoying life's simple pleasures. Enjoying these simple pleasures can bring great happiness and fulfillment. It’s often the little things that make all the difference.

If you are looking to escape to a charming seaside village, then this book is for you! Such a lovely lovely read. Make sure you have some croissants to eat while reading this lovely book!

Jane Linfoot's The Cosy Croissant Café whisks readers away to Boathouse Cottage, which was meant to be a peaceful sanctuary for Betty and her charming rescue Shetland pony, Pumpkin. However, peace is shattered when her sister's marriage falls apart, making the family cottage in St. Aidan a valuable pawn in a bitter divorce. Betty finds herself in an unexpected battle with her new, unwanted flatmate: Miles, her brother-in-law's best friend.

Miles is undeniably gorgeous and a wonderfully talented pastry chef, but Betty can't afford to be distracted by his charm or his delectable "croissant campaign." Yet, as the story unfolds, Betty starts to realize that perhaps aligning with the talented baker offers more advantages than resisting the sweet temptation he and his pastries present. This delightful read combines a charming setting with a compelling conflict, promising a story where unlikely alliances lead to unexpected delights.

The title really grasped my attention but to be honest the actual book.. not so much.
we got Betty who is staying at her sister cottage with her pony. then we got miles who so happens to also be staying at the cottage. There is history between them two.
One thing that didn't do it foe me was the fact that I didn't connect with the characters at all.
Nothing really truly happened at all.

~Thanks to NetGalley and One More Chapter for the chance to read the ARC

A cosy beach read! I really enjoyed meeting Miles and the lovely quirky Betty (as well as her pony, Pumpkin). I enjoyed the development of their summer business and how they finally started to like each other! I did feel I had read the book before though so not sure if it is similar to another or if it is second in a series.

I chose this book based on the cover because I thought it was cute!
We follow Betty ander her pony Pumpkin who move into the Boathouse (her sisters property) of a small-town. However, *surprise* someone is already living there!
Her sister's husband told Miles his best friend, he could stay at the house as well. And Miles is a very attractive guy, who also knows how to bake! However Betty is not looking for a new relationship...

From the start of the book, you already know how it's going to end. At first Miles and Betty do not really get along, and try to find a way to live together in the house. Eventually, and obviously they end up falling for each other in a cute HEA. Personally for me it all took too long, and then the ending was too fast. Also I didn't like how Betty was this really quirky person who wore multiple layers of clothes and fairy wings. Being quirky is fine, but wearing fairy wings as a 28 year old is kinda questionable.

But if you are looking for an easy, cute, predicatble love story, this one is for you!

This was a ok read though not one I could really get in to.
I couldn’t connect in any way to the main characters🤷🏼‍♀️
Where was the chemistry?????
Than you NetGalley, the publisher and author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Betty and Pumpkin (her Shetland Pony) have to move, luckily Betty's sister has a cottage in St. Aiden and is letting her stay for the summer. Then she finds she has to share the cottage with Miles, her brother-in-law's best friend. When her sister's marriage starts falling apart, Betty is stuck with Miles as no one wants to give an inch on the cottage. This was the most delightful read, you are rooting for Betty and Miles from the beginning and watching them come together was so much fun. There is laughter, tears, and as always embarrassing moments that make you laugh out loud.
