This is a captivating story filled with intrigue that keeps the reader engaged from start to finish. Best friends since school—Jane, Katie, Maxine, and Lesley—have all promised to look out for one another.
When they begin receiving golden envelopes containing notes about secrets and little heart confetti, the mystery unfolds. Initially, I thought it was going to turn into a typical whodunit, a genre I'm not particularly fond of. However, I'm glad I continued reading, as Karen Woods skillfully weaves together the individual lives of the women, leading up to an explosive climax filled with deceit, lies, and heartbreak.
This book definitely deserves a rating of 5 out of 5.

A fabulous read focusing on a friendship group and the secrets held by each member. A fast paced storyline with lots of deceitful people. Could easily continue on to become a series as I think these girls have a lot more drama left in them!

This was a fantastic read I couldn't put it down.I really hope there is a follow up to this book as I think there so much more to see with the girls .

A great read. The story was amazing. I couldn't put it down at all

You get all the girl's stories, but someone knows their secrets they will try to break the friendship an amazing read

An amazing book, loved the plots from start to finish, always a very good read and looking forward to the next one AAA

karen woods has got her books down to a pat. she has the knack, she has the skill, she has quickly become a legend type author in my eyes. i just know i can pick up any of her book and think "yes, this is going to be brill". and yet again we are given a smart and nail biting thriller. the plot points all hit, the characters are all perfectly developed and the bits of light and shade throughout the book keep you both intrigued and hooked in equal measure. you are led on a dance of wondering who is innocent even amongst friends? you are both wanting to know just what happened to them back then and how it bonded them. you want to know who is perhaps blackmailing them or knows their secret( or is it in fact one of them)? and also just wanted to get to know these complex characters more and more and my swapped allegiances kept changing as i did so.
Karen has something about her books that add the extra tensions and thrills, more somehow than other books or authors do. she has this darker tense under thread that only she has ever done as well for the novels she writes.
and this one was another great success.
