This had that fantasy romance element that I was looking for and was engaged with what was happening. I enjoyed this as a enemies-to-lovers romance and am excited to read more in this universe. The characters had that overall feel that I was wanting and enjoyed the concept. Jamila Eoukich wrote this well and was engaged from the first page.

The book is about dragon shifters, there are multiple kinds of dragons (blue, black, wyvern) and the book revolves around the politics of ruling the dragon shifters as well as others. The female main character thought that she was a human but was, in fact, the only blue dragon alive. She is the mate of one of the dragon shifters (prince?).
It’s a book about dragon shifters but their dragon form has its own personality/mind/sense and name. So basically the human and dragon are different characters. The human and the dragon sides communicate with each other via their minds. Even though they are ”two different people” they have the same mate.
The writing style is not for me; it feels like every action is described with unnecessary detail. The point of view switches from one character to the next at very weird places in the chapter. The world is either extraordinarily small or the dragons can travel at a fast pace. The narration of the book is not consistent.

I was intrigued by the premise of the book, but the writing feels more like a war-time report than a romantasy. Couldn't connect to the characters or care for the plot. It was a fine read but didn't enjoy it as much as I expected to.

I thought this was very good and I will have to add this to the shop shelves. Thank you for the chance for us to review.

This books builds an interring premise. A reluctant romance set in a world of dragons, political challenges, and threats of war. I wish the story was longer since there is so much going on. With it being shorter the romance didn't have the enemies to lovers long enough to build that tension of enemies. They ended up being lovers faster and needed that slight hill.

The premise of this story was great, and I wasn't expecting much so I thought I wouldn't be disappointed. But I couldn't connect to the plot/characters. I really tried, but maybe it just wasn't for me. I didn't read the first edition, so I don't know what changed but to me, it still needs some work. While I don't usually care if it's a 3rd POV or not, maybe it would have been better to have different POV there.

Rounded up from 1.5 stars
Unfortunately this book read like a first draft. The overall story was good but there was a lot of telling and not showing.
I don’t normally mind when the story is written in third person, however in this case I think it would’ve been better has it been written in first person.
This isn’t a story that I would read again however I am thankful for the opportunity to read it. Thank you to both the publishers and NetGalley for giving me the arc.

Hey, dragon-loving bookworms, listen up! This is the royal mate story you never knew you needed. Toran, the Zoran dragon king, is on a quest to find his mate, and it's a journey that'll keep you on the edge of your seat. But here's the twist – Lyria, the missing mate, is no pushover. She's out for dragon blood, and she's not exactly thrilled about becoming a queen.
So why should you dive into this book? Well, because it's got everything: dragons, romance, magic, and a sizzling enemies-to-lovers vibe that'll make your heart race. The author spins a tale that's as fiery as the dragons themselves, and you won't be able to resist getting lost in this epic fantasy world. Trust me, this is the kind of book that'll have you cheering for love to conquer all, even in a world of scales and flames. Don't miss out on the adventure of a lifetime with this book!

I made it about 10% into the book and had to stop for my own sake. I was not connecting, and when our MMC started having conversations with his dragon form but really it was himself, I was immediately out of it. This book may work for some folks, but sadly I am not one of them!
