Throughout this story my opinion wavered about whether or not it was a good book that I was enjoying. I like destination thrillers and the outback was a new location for me. But I nearly gave up in the first quarter because the bratty gap year students were all so extra and dramatic, it put me off. In the middle of the book it eased off and I got carried along with the pacy plot, but then it started up again - all these people hating each other and declaring other people deserve to be dead for the flimsiest of reasons. But I was still enjoying it mostly until the end, which left me going "huh"? None of the story now makes sense, how the characters behave towards each other, what they think, etc. I enjoyed parts of it but the ending didn't fit with the rest of the story, which is always disappointing.

It was supposed to be paradise. For one group of friends, it’s a study abroad program like no other: a month long adventure filled with sunshine, whirlwind romances, and all night parties. But it isn’t long before their trip of a lifetime unravels into betrayal, heartbreak, and one missing girl. Until one of them didn’t come home! Good book! Interesting characters! It had good suspense ,mystery, murder, dark past secrets, and some wild twists and turns! The story was interesting! It wasn’t one of my top favorites but still a good read! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!

This is the best book I have read in quite some time! In the first few chapters, I got that tingle I get when I know that I'm going to absolutely love a book, and I wasn't wrong. The writing style was really enjoyable to read, and the cast of characters felt well-developed, distinct and believable.
The plot really kept me interested - both timelines had me hooked and I equally enjoyed Claire's and Phoebe's POV. The book was well paced and I loved the mini reveals throughout the book and there were lots of clever clues, without being too obvious.
I think it may divide people, but I loved the epilogue, and thought it was a perfect way to end the book. A massive 5 stars from me, and I would recommend it to everyone.
