*Pretty Face* by Mark Dawson is the sixth installment in the Isabella Rose series. It blends espionage and action with emotional depth, showcasing Isabella Rose's journey from a seemingly quiet life in Marrakech to a high-stakes mission. The story revolves around her secret work as an assassin and her personal connection to an orphanage targeted by a corrupt general. This leads her to make tough decisions and embrace her dangerous skills. With suspense, well-developed characters, and gripping twists, it’s a thrilling addition to the series

I really enjoyed Pretty Face. Isabella Rose is a fascinating character, and her story kept me hooked from start to finish. The mix of action, suspense, and personal struggle made for an exciting listen. I liked how she had to balance her dangerous job with protecting the orphanage—it added depth to her character.
David Thorpe did an excellent job narrating. His voice brought the tension and emotions to life, making the audiobook even more engaging. The pacing was great, and I never felt bored.
The story had plenty of twists and turns, and I was eager to see how things would unfold. It’s an intense and gripping thriller that kept me on edge. If you enjoy fast-paced stories with strong characters, I highly recommend this audiobook and the rest of the series.
Very grateful to the publisher @ for my alc through NetGalley, opinions are my own

I wasn't actually aware this was part of a series, however it was still enjoyable. More procedural in that I was only missing out on the odd pieces of information throughout the book. Lots of tension, lots of twist and turns, a solid thriller.

I haven’t read any books in this series, but it works well as a standalone. I got the gist of Isabelle’s past and her relationships and the setting here is a new life in the Middle East. But she undertakes a contract to kill and the story is unpredictable and tense. I’ve read other books by Mark Dawson and he takes the reader into the heart of covert ops. Isabelle is leading a seemingly ordinary life, but she’s living the life of her ‘legend’ identity. The narrative is followed through her eyes and the pace throughout is fast. She challenges her role and her life is turned upside down as a result. It’s a fast romp which I demolished in a couple of evenings. I liked Isabelle’s resilience, ingenuity and .understanding. She’s complex and interesting and this is a neat little thriller. Narration was excellent, even with mildly irritating inflection when voicing one of the characters.
