Heidi Swain is an aut0-buy Author for me so I was thrilled to be given an early e-arc for her latest book. I was very excited to be back in the lovely coastal village of Wynmouth, having last visited in Christmas 2021. This latest book had all of the elements that I love about Heidi's books; a beautiful setting, loveable characters, a strong community feel, and of course a heart-warming Romance.
I really connected with Daisy, who at the age of 28 feels like she hasn't quite figured out where she wants to be in life. She can't seem to stick at anything, having dropped out of university and rinses through various jobs, unable to settle. After walking away from her relationship with her cheating boyfriend, she's left with little choice but to return home to her parents with her tail between her legs. It's alluded to that Daisy hasn't always seen eye to eye with her parents, particularly her dad, so it's not easy for her to lose her independence and become reliant on them again.
I really enjoyed Daisy and Josh's Romance, there's an undeniable spark between the two of them that had me smiling throughout the book, their easy-going and carefree banter was an absolute joy, and the circumstances of their meeting were hilarious. Josh has his own secrets however and they threaten to derail their budding Romance when they come to light. Daisy has already avoided a broken heart once this summer, and doesn't want to risk it happening again so soon, so she's understandably cautious.
Algy was a standout character for me, especially as he has such a lovely bond with Daisy, who has always seen him as a Grandfather figure having grown up in the shadow of the Manor. There's something going on with Algy that Daisy is very keen to get to the bottom of as she's struggling with seeing him so down in the dumps, as he's always seemed so exuberant before.
I thoroughly enjoyed my latest trip to Wynmouth, the setting is idyllic and I wish it was a real place that I could visit. I'd love to visit Wynbrook Manor, pick some fresh fruit at the fruit farm, buy some freshly cut flowers from the walled garden and finally have a cup of tea with the lovely Algy. I'll have to content myself with visiting through the pages though, and hope that will be soon.

I love, love, love Heidi Swain’s books. They are feel good stories set in idyllic locations; I was absolutely dreaming of summer on the north Norfolk coast. The characters are so well written with just a touch of jeopardy that has you rooting for them the whole time. I loved the addition of the cut flower garden as there isn’t anything else that represents a British summer better.

Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for my advanced copy to review. All opinions are my own.
I do love a Heidi Swain book so when I got the opportunity to read an advance copy of this one I jumped at the chance.
It is lovely to be back in Wynmouth again, this time in the company of Daisy who has recently moved home after splitting up with her boyfriend. Daisy has had a complicated relationship with her parents and I did feel for her.
When she meets Josh, I felt they would be a good together but I did feel he was holding something back which made me wary. My suspicion was confirmed with the little twist in the story.
I love the way Heidi writes and she always has such good, relatable and down to earth characters and I did like most of them.
I loved the family dynamics and friendships which made this a heartwarming read and is one I would definitely recommend.

What a lovely fine this was!
Set in a beautiful area, with wonderful characters and blooming friendships, what more could you want?
Daisy arrives back at her childhood home, partner and jobless, worried what her parents will think. What follows is a tale of her summer in her hometown, reacquainting herself with old friends and new ones.
I loved how the characters developed throughout and you really do come to care for them (well most of them!)
The settings are described perfectly and when are love interests aren’t quite getting along, it isn’t drawn out with lots of miscommunication etc, which is a pleasant change.
This is definitely one that’s hard to put down and you will want to just stay with these characters until the book ends (and beyond really!)
All in all a really nicely written book, with great dynamic between all the characters and a beautiful setting.

Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.
I enjoyed reading this book. Following the end of her relationship with Laurence, Daisy returns back to her parents house in Wynmouth.
When she arrives, Daisy has a run in with Josh, who is new to the area.
Her parents work at Wynbrook manor, but things aren’t the same, a lot of attention is needed to areas around the manor gardens and Algy, the owner isn’t able to do much.
Daisy, loves being in the garden, and has never had the support to pursue it. Can she be the one to put the care and attention needed for the garden and get it back to how it was?
When Josh asks Daisy about the manor, she wonders why he wants to know and what is he hiding?
The story has some twists and secrets are revealed.
I highly recommend this book.

I was delighted to receive an early copy of this, Heidi Swain’s 20th novel. I have been following her stories set in Norfolk from the start and was looking forward to catching up with some familiar characters as well as meeting some new faces in the coastal town of Wynmouth. I must say that this book has the most stunning cover, practically exuding summer (the daisies are a lovely touch).
The story this time centres on Daisy, who is returning to her childhood home having left behind yet another job as well as a cheating partner, much to her parents’ despair. Daisy’s parents work at Wynbrook Manor, where the owner, Algy, is uncharacteristically low in spirits. The new cut flower venture in the grounds is not doing as well as Algy had hoped, as there is nobody to manage it. While Daisy is trying to settle into the village and find a suitable job for the summer, she almost literally runs into Josh, an American who is visiting the area. They don’t hit it off right away, but gradually a friendship develops between them. However, it transpires that Josh has not been honest with her about why he has come to Wynmouth, and it looks as if their relationship may go no further and Daisy’s hopes for the best summer ever may be dashed.
This was quite simply an enchanting story in an equally adorable setting. It is full of summer warmth and so many flowers that you could practically smell them each time you turned a page. Daisy was a troubled soul to start with, trying to find the niche where she could express her talents. She tried so hard to please her parents at the same time. Who could fail to feel for her? Josh, on the other hand, was a confident and likeable character with an air of mystery about him. I felt sure that he and Daisy would be good as a couple given a chance. I really liked Algy and could understand the dilemma he found himself in regarding his home and its future. I can certainly recommend this lovely, summery story to other readers and would encourage those not familiar with Heidi Swain’s excellent books to give it a try.

A feel good summer read set in Norfolk . Families are not always what they seem . Daisy returns to her unwelcoming home after an unfulfilling work life and a disastrous love life. Meanwhile . An American, Josh, also arrives in Wynbrook with his own tale to tell.
The book is based around the experiences and see ituations around the two . Will it lead them to fulfil their life’s dreams?

It felt great to be back among the sights and sounds of Wynbrook and to feel the love of Daisy’s family as she returned home with her tail lodged fully between her legs. Her parents had adored her former fiancé, and she simply didn’t want to shatter their illusions by telling them the truth.
Having discovered him with another girl in his arms, she packed her belongings into her ageing car and headed for home. On arrival, she discovers that not much has changed in her absence. Her parents are still besotted with her ex, and her friends are enjoying the same routine. There is a new face in the village to catch her eye, and she is soon drawn to him, although he’s just visiting.
I really liked Daisy. I felt the pain of her boyfriend’s rejection and the embarrassment of his cold-hearted treatment of her. Daisy certainly wore her heart on her sleeve, and I was totally supportive of her decisions. Her parents, Janet and Robin, were lovely, but were only given part of Daisy’s story, so they had no idea of the embarrassment she was keeping to herself.
From the first mention, I knew that Wynbrook Manor would play a huge part in this story, and I was excited to follow the story arc as it turned toward Algy and his complicated family. Eventually, Daisy began to settle into her new routine and enjoy being a part of the community she thought she’d left behind when she escaped to London.
It was almost as though Heidi knew I craved for a story in which the lovers connected early on and then fought to remain together. They didn’t need to fight; they just needed to stay the course and hope they would find their happily ever after.
I must doff my virtual cap to Heidi and hope she finds great success with this gorgeous trip to the seaside; it’s excellent.

Another absolutely stunning book from Heidi! It was amazing being back in Wynmouth. This is my favourite book location ever and the series I would most like to be part of in real life.

A very summery themed book, set by the seaside and amidst an old estate too for that countryside/nature vibe. Not the most light hearted read ever with some family issues as a main theme throughout and some previous relationship problems too. That being said, thoroughly enjoyed the development of the story (along with the involvement of the little cat!).

Thanks to the publishers and Netgalley for an advance copy of this book in exchange for a review.
Perfect summer holiday read! Just wish I'd been reading it by the pool.

I always get excited when a new Heidi Swain book appears and Best Summer Ever didn't disappoint.
When Daisy is forced to return to Wynbrook after her relationship ends, and with no job, her already tense relationship with her parents is further strained.
Working at the local pub, then at the beach café, doesn't work out for her - although she does manage to meet American tourist, Josh.
Gradually the tide turns on Daisy's fortunes and things start to look up.
Wynbrook is the place of dreams - I wish it was real!
Another fab read from Heidi Swain.

An enjoyable, light read with enjoyable and relatable characters. Daisy. the main character is somewhat of a wild and flaky petulant sort, even if she has her reasons, it's not endearing. However, her friendships and never give up attitude lead her to the life she had wanted but was manipulated away from.
Having broken up with her boyfriend, her mum and dad aren't enthusiastic about her return.
Dear olde Algy gently calms her down and as she softens and opens herself up to life.
Josh, the hot American is sensual and fun. A lovely summer, poolside/ garden read.

This is certainly a summer to remember for Daisy as she returns to Wymbrook and her parents. Daisy’s Mum and Dad both work at the Manor, whose elderly endearing owner Algy has always had a soft spot for Daisy. She hopes to move on with her life after fleeing her cheating boyfriend.
As Daisy arrives in her dilapidated car, she almost runs over Josh, an American guy who has also just arrived in Wynnouth. A spark is ignited between them but it is not plain sailing as they both have secrets of the past to overcome.
I loved returning to Wynmouth and enjoyed the characters in this Author’s 20th book. Well done Heidi, keep them coming!
My thanks to NetGalley and Simon & Schuster publishers for the arc of this delightful romantic fiction novel.

I’m a fan of Heidi’s so was happy to receive this for an unbiased review. Daisy is coming back to her childhood home, having broken up with her boyfriend. Just as she arrives in the village, she nearly knocks down Josh who is visiting from the US. Daisy isn’t looking forward to moving back home and telling her parents she has broken up with Laurence as they thought he was great. Daisys childhood home is in Wynbrook Manor where her mum and dad work for Algy, dad as a gardner and her mum looks after the Manor House. Daisy has a strained relationship with her parents, especially her dad. Josh has rented a cottage next to the pub. Josh and Daisy are attracted to each other but he is only in the village for a short time and Daisy needs to find a new job but they decide to have a summer fling and see where it goes. Algy is so pleased to see Daisy,he sees her more like a grand daughter. He is estranged from his son and grandson and worries about the estate. Daisys friend Nick works in the farm shop and her friend Penny is a teacher who finds herself running the local cafe during the summer holidays but it’s something she hankers after, Daisy gets a job working in the pub but she’s not very good at it. You should read the book and see how everyone’s life’s intertwines and how things all turn out. You won’t be disappointed.

I enjoy everything this author writes, and loved returning to Wynmouth and catching up with some familiar characters from previous books. Initially I did find main character Daisy to be quite self-absorbed and her relationship with Josh a bit all-consuming or too much too soon. But of course my feelings changed when past misunderstandings were resolved and Daisy found her true path. And so as expected this was another charming and heartwarming read from one of my favourite authors.

I read Best Summer Ever back in January and it made me dream of the sea, summer, fantastic friendships, and wonderful romance. Also, experience has taught me that if you are looking for uplifting and immersive stories you can’t ever go wrong with a Heidi Swain’s novel.
The protagonist of the novel is Daisy who is returning home to Wynmouth after quitting the job she didn’t like and leaving the cheating boyfriend who was trying to turn her into the perfect girlfriend. Daisy doesn’t know what to do with her life yet and she has never been good at sticking to jobs or boyfriends, something that caused a kind of rift with her parents, so she is not expecting a warm welcome from them. After an unexpected encounter with a handsome and charming and yet annoying American backpacker who keeps turning up wherever she goes, Daisy settles down back at home and even though her relationship with her parents is strained, she can count on her two best friends, Penny and Nick, and Algy, the owner of Wynbrooke Manor.
Best Summer Ever is a charming, escapist, and entertaining story of self-discovery. Daisy’s return to Wynmouth leads her to reconnect with her friends, embark on a new romance, trying to solve her differences with her parents, and maybe finally finding her dream job. I loved the setting of Wynmouth, with its beautiful scenery and picturesque locations, and the cast of characters is relatable and likable. I can’t recommend it enough! Best Summer Ever is a heartwarming story that will take you right into the summer!

You know what you're going to get with a Heidi Swain book - great location, gentle easy-going story line, lovely characters and a couple of hic-cups along the way, and this book didn't disappoint.
Unfortunately for me I struggled somewhat with Daisy's issues with her parents and it all seemed rather juvenile - it was kind of addressed within the tale with Daisy complaining that her parents "treat her like she's 18 rather than 28", however the character herself came across as being 18 - so much that I double check that I wasn't reading a YA book.

This was a lovely addition to this series, I really enjoyed the characters and the area that it is set in, I would love to visit and holiday in this area. The characters are vey likable and very well written, I was hooked form the very first page, looking forward to Heidi's next offering

A great summer romance read. Full of sun, sea, drama and romance. Loved following Daisy with all the ups, downs and love in this book.
