Best Day Ever was a fun, easy read, but with a few bumps along the way.
The premise? Delightful.
The setting? Pure Swain magic.
But the FMC felt incredibly childish at the start, which made it tough to connect with her journey. And while I love when a book’s title is cleverly woven into the story, this one? It was over-the-top... I get it, it’s the Best Day Ever, but did we need to be reminded that much?
That said, there were some lovely, heartwarming moments, and the small-town charm Swain does so well still shone through.
Would I recommend it? If you’re after a light, escapist read with some fun moments, it’s worth picking up but don’t expect it to be the best book ever 🤭
Now, I need something amazing to follow this up with! Drop your small-town romance recs in the comments please! ⬇️

As always an enjoyable, easy read. I feel like fans of Swain will know exactly what they're getting whenever they're picking up her newest title.
For those that may be new to the author, I would highly recommend going back and reading the books in order. Whilst they are all standalones, there is often overlapping of characters from previous stories which really makes them richer.

I received a free copy of, Best Summer Ever, by Heidi Swain, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Daisy is back home in Wynmouth. She left her job and cheating man behind. Daisy finds sometimes yo can go home again, though there was a lot of drama at home too. This was a lovely read, I really enjoyed it.

I love everything this author writes, and The Best Summer Ever was no exception. Another perfect book for your summer reading. As always impeccably well written with a fanatic story line. Set in a stunning location with the back drop of summer and engaging characters. What’s not to love. Five stars.

I adored this book. It was the perfect Summery read. The setting, the supporting characters, everything all added up to the perfect romance book. I loved following Josh and Daisys story and was actually sad when I finished this book! Heidi creates such lovely settings in her stories - there’s a real community feel and it was so nice to return to Wynmouth and catch up with some of the characters from her other books. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a lighthearted, Summery read that will make you smile.

A nice summer read. For the first half of the book I found Daisy to be a little selfish and quite childish which was a little annoying. However, once Daisy managed to get her dream job I found her character changed a little so I enjoyed the story bit more.
The Wynbrook estate sounded dreamy and I liked the community feel of the book.
Overall, a nice read

I started this book at 9.30pm and could not sleep until I finished it! I love a book based around a community which is what Heidi Swain excels at - gorgeous writing about a small village, old regrets and a summer romance, feel good fiction at it's best!

Not just the best summer ever, could this be the best Heidi Swain book ever? I think it might be! I have loved every single book that Heidi has written as she just writes these communities and characters with so much heart, but I think the seaside setting of warmth is my favourite and I loved this with all my heart ❤️

I really enjoyed this book. It is a perfect easy read.
The story focuses on Daisy and her move back to her hometown after breaking up with her partner. The descriptions throughout the book allowed you to really imagine that you were there and engrossed in the story itself.
This is a great summer read.

A feel good read from start to finish.
I have read several Heidi Swain books now and I love Wynmouth!
It is the perfect home from home, every time. pick up a book I feel like I am returning to somewhere special!
Daisy catches her boyfriend cheating so decides to pack herself up and head back to Wynmouth with the mantra that this will be the "Best Summer Ever!"
A series of unfortunate and fortunate events for the family and the group of friends keep you turning pages quickly with the story unfolding near the end! Despite the familiar feel to the book and the style of story, the twists and turns vary and it made for a very good Heidi Swain read!

Well I absolutely loved being back in Wynmouth. Daisy and Josh made for a truly lovely story.
Heidi always writes such gentle, easy reads that you can totally absorb yourself in.
Algy was an delight of a character. In fact all of the characters (except one) are lovely. They don't perhaps always start out lovely but things change throughout the book.
All in all a very heartwarming lovely book from Heidi. Thank you Netgalley for allowing me to read this one.

A really enjoyable book, set in a delightful sounding Norfolk costal village & country house, and featuring characters who readers will easily warm to.
Perhaps the ‘twist’ between the two main characters was a little too guessable from early on, but knowing what was to come didn’t detract from the enjoyment of the book.
Great descriptions, from which I could almost feel the saltiness of the sea drying in the hot summer sunshine after a dip in to cool off. The whole book made me look forward to summer.
Heartwarming story of reconnecting with family & friends whilst finding your true self.
A lovely summer read.

Fabulously warm hearted read. Coming back to Wynmouth is like snuggling in a favourite cardigan and slippers. Wonderful new characters with a positively charming story. Great read and one I’m sure to come back again and again.
Thank you Netgalley

I read this book during a particularly gloomy week, with no sunshine in sight, so it was the perfect escape into a world filled with warmth, sea, and romance. The vivid descriptions and engaging storytelling transported me to a much sunnier place, making the reading experience all the more enjoyable.
One of the highlights for me was the portrayal of friendships and family dynamics. The relationships between the characters felt authentic, with natural development that added depth to the story. Even though I figured out Josh’s identity early on, it didn’t take away from my enjoyment. Instead, I appreciated how all the different storylines wove together seamlessly, with well-drawn characters and believable interactions.
Overall, this was a delightful and uplifting read, perfect for anyone looking for a heartwarming escape.

Wow what an outstanding book suitable to read in the summer time , I read this book out in Spain and could not put it down I adored the location of the book and loved all the characters with penny being my favourite and I had goosebumps with the song that is mentioned in the book without giving any spoilers away
When I was reading this book I could imagine myself in the scene at the beach, in the pub and at the estate and all the smells etc the author has amazing ability to capture your imagination like you are actually in the location of the book and living the life of the characters she describes
I wish the author all the best with this book
Many thanks to the publishers and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for this review

Summer is in full swing when Daisy drives back into Wynmouth in her almost-clapped-out car, having left both her most recent job and the man her parents thought she was going to marry. Coming home could be just what she needs to move her life on.
At Wynbrook Manor, things are in disarray. Owner Algy isn’t getting any younger, and Daisy’s mum Janet, housekeeper at the manor, spends her days running around after him, while Daisy’s dad Robin, the gardener, has been let down by the person he had lined up to take care of the new cut-flower garden.
As Daisy tries to find her place at Wynbrook and in the village, she’s drawn to summer visitor Josh. But when he turns out to be not the person he appears to be, will the spark between them fizzle out? And with it, the chances of this turning into the best summer ever?

Set in Wynmouth Norfolk, Dairy returns home to her parents... her relationship with Jonathan is over (after catching him in the office with one of the new members of staff), her job was hopeless so she walked out on both!
Daisy stops off at the Pub and is hired as a barmaid for the summer, she meets up with Josh an American who is staying at the cottage next door.
This book uncovers many secrets, broken family relationships, unknown love between friends and unrealised dreams.
A great book and easy summer read.
Thanks to Simon & Schuster UK and Netgalley for an ERC.

Heidi Swain is a go to summer author for me and this latest trip to Wynmouth did not disappoint.
We follow Daisy who has come back to Wynmouth and her parent house after leaving both her job and her boyfriend.
I enjoyed meeting new characters and seeing them interact with those we have met in earlier books.
A perfect easy summer read.

A glorious summer read, that is the perfect country escape! Characters that feel like friends, and are ready to wrap you in a warm hug, whenever you pick up the book and continue reading. It makes you want to visit Wynbrook manor and pick cut flowers and your own fruit to enjoy! A perfect read this summer!

Heidi Swain’s A Summer to Remember is a heartwarming and charming escape to the idyllic coastal village of Wynmouth. With her trademark warmth and evocative storytelling, Swain invites readers to bask in the joys of summer, surrounded by flowers, fresh beginnings, and the promise of romance.
The story centers on Daisy, who returns to Wynmouth after leaving both her latest job and a relationship that never quite fit. Back at home, she finds Wynbrook Manor in a state of disarray. Her parents, who work as the housekeeper and gardener at the manor, are stretched thin. Daisy steps in to help, particularly with the newly established cut-flower garden, where her love for nature and growing things begins to bloom alongside her confidence.
Daisy’s journey of self-discovery is beautifully woven into the fabric of village life, with vibrant and memorable characters at every turn. Her budding romance with Josh brings both a spark of excitement and a hint of mystery, as not everything about him is as it seems. Swain masterfully balances this intrigue with the warmth and coziness of small-town dynamics, where secrets unfold gently amidst summer picnics and garden blooms.
What sets A Summer to Remember apart is its ability to make you feel as though you’ve been transported into the story. The manor and its gardens are described so vividly that you can almost smell the flowers and hear the hum of bees. The novel touches on themes of family, forgiveness, and finding one's path, making it not only an uplifting read but also one with a lovely depth.
For anyone looking to lose themselves in a feel-good romance with a picturesque backdrop, this book is a perfect pick. With its blend of sunny days, second chances, and sweet surprises, A Summer to Remember is as refreshing and delightful as a seaside breeze.
