This is the fifth instalment in this saga series, which is based in the village of Churchwood.

In this episode, a baby is abandoned on the steps of Naomi's house and Victoria, currently staying with Naomi becomes attached to the little one. But the baby's mother remains a mystery and there is concern across Naomi and her friends, and they try their hardest to save face for the unknown mother before informing the authorities.

As the truth starts to merge, other secrets come tumbling out and it seems that more than one family is going to be affected.

Of course if you have been with the series since the beginning, then you will be familiar with all the main characters, Naomi, Kate, Alice and their back stories and of course we see more of their lives as they continue to live within the confines of the Second World War on the Home Front.

Like meeting your friends and catching up with all the gossip. One of the best saga series out at the moment.

A sweet, warm story which captures my heart completely. I love this series and hope there is more to come. These books are so innocent and relaxing even though T hey are set during wartime they are still light-hearted. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

This brilliant 5th novel in the wartime bookshops series did not disappoint. This one is about an unmarried mother who abandons her baby on a doorstep. But who is the mother ?
Follow the characters as they try to unravel the mystery .
Lovely characters and plot .

Part of a series featuring the village of Churchwood and its wartime bookshop. A great variety of characters who develop with each new book. An excellent read.

A foundling at the wartime book shop, the 5th book in the series, and I must say my favourite one, this is jam packed with great characters old and new, and great storytelling keeping you hooked from the start. The ladies at the book shop are kept busy with so much going on, and my heart broke for Hannah and I was rooting for her happy ending from the start. A wonderful addition to the series, and I’m now waiting patiently for the next instalment. A well deserved 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is book five in a fabulous series about a village in Hertfordshire during World War Two. In this one everyone has a surprise finding a new born baby on their doorstep. Naomi’s house is already full with all the London evacuees and their children but after reading the note from the mother asking for help they all pull together to do just that. There’s so much going on in this book that when you’re reading you will want to read just one more chapter all the time. I have really enjoyed this series and will miss catching up with all the characters. I highly recommend reading this series if this is a genre you like. I guarantee you will not be disappointed

I think my heart expanded five times reading this book! The community, the friendships, the absolute heartfelt dedication between the characters was so nice to read and the wartime spirit was strong in this one.

I have loved these books with my whole heart and look forward to every new book where I get to spend some more time with the library gang and the strong plucky spirits they each exhibit.

The character and plot developments are enthralling and I have loved each and every journey with all of these characters - I feel like I know them so well! Fabulous writing and a book series that never fails to lift my spirits. They’re so entertaining and I effortlessly slip back into the story every time. I can’t wait for the next opportunity to rejoin this fantastic series with the next book!

This book is the 5th in the Wartime Bookshop series. It works as a standalone but I would advise reading them in order to follow the character progression.

A newborn baby is left on the doorstep for Victoria to find - but who is the mother, and can Victoria and the bookshop team help her and the baby before it is too late?

Another wonderful instalment in the series, it was lovely to revisit old favourite characters such as Naomi and Kate, and to meet some new ones - nurse Beth was a particular favourite of mine. Amusing in parts, and highly emotive in others, it was a really enjoyable story. I hope there are more to come!

Wartime Bookshop Series - Book 5

It’s no spoiler when the book title says that a baby was left and found at the bookshop, but the mystery that needs to be solved is:
Who is the mother?
Where is the mother?
What are the circumstances that led baby Rose to be left at the bookshop?

I loved this storyline, it was well written and sucked you right in.
I hope there will be more books to come in this wonderful series.

Thank-You to Netgalley and The Publisher for the opportunity of an early copy to review.

Another fantastic addition to the Wartime Bookshop series.

It’s no spoiler from the title to expect a newborn child to be left somewhere - in the safe hands of Victoria and Naomi.

Who her mother is and the circumstances of her birth are kept secret by the Bookshop ladies for a long while within the book. They know the mother must be fairly local from the note left with Rose. Is her mother naive to expect the babies father to do right by her?

It’s great to meet old characters again - and some new ones - all having their own problems to overcome. And of course the odd floozy and cad add to the recipe of this great series.
As is usual with the series Lesley Eames has written a well rounded novel and obviously researched the times well. I think the village community and camaraderie are typical of the times as was the local hospital for wounded servicemen and their nursing staff.

I really hope that this isn’t the end of the Wartime Bookshop - after all are their happy endings for Alice and Kate, Naomi and Victoria and the newcomer nurse Beth? Looking forward to the next instalment

Book five.
A heartbreaking story.
Churchwood village Hertfordshire.
Victoria Page who runs the Churchwood bookshop finds a box on the porch, a abandoned new born baby a foundling with a little note stating Miss Page 'take care of little Rose' it's obviously someone who knows her.
Dr Lovell is called in and both agree for Victoria to look after Rose till the mother in desperate needs comes forward, and the search is on to find her.
This sleepy village has never got a dull moment with 1942 WW2 is still on going.
I totally loved this series and this is the best yet, as we follow more heartbreak from the characters.
So engrossed to read, Page turner, exceptional in every way.

Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

I loved this latest instalment in the series.

We meet up with the ladies of the bookshop. One morning Victoria hears a sound and finds a baby on the doorstep inside a box and a note, but no mention of who is its mother.

So that the baby’s discovery is kept as quiet as possible, only a select few are informed so that they too can try to find who the Mother is. But as much as everyone tries, the Mother is still not found.

I enjoyed reading about what the characters dealt with and the good that happened as well.

I highly recommend this book.

Another book in the series and I loved every minute of reading this book.

We continue with the woman of the bookshop. Victoria discovers a baby on the door step a note who is the Mother only a select few people are told of the baby as they want to find the Mother. The woman try to find the Mother but no clues come to light.

I enjoyed all the tribulations and also the happy things that happened in this book. The characters especially the woman are all strong and who would want to mess with them. The book was sad but wonderful as well.

I certainly hope there is another book to find out what happens to them all.

Well written would recommend this book.

This is a book of revelations, which begin with the discovery of a baby , as you can guess by the title.
The characters are instantly recognisable with Naomi Harrington of Foxfield house (which seems to be the centre of all activity) in the process of divorcing her awful husband Alexander. When the baby is discovered it sends the gossips into overdrive, none more so than Marjorie Plym, will she upset the plan to keep the baby secret?
Meanwhile up at Brimbles farm Ernie is as objectionable as ever although the family just ignore him. Land girls Ruby and Pearl have romance in the air although one of the partners isn’t playing game. Will this cause a change of plan!
To throw the cat among the pigeons newcomer Marguerite Moore charms some of the villagers!

My favourite character was Ruby, who brought so much enjoyment. Least favourite was Jed who was a selfish person, and Oliver was a bit of a cad. There has to be a special place for Jane.

The beauty of this series is that you can read them as stand alone, although you’d miss all the excitement of how each character evolves. I do hope that we get to hear more from Churchwood.
