There is something about a domestic thriller that I just love and will always catch my eye to read!

The Last Mrs. Sinclair is about Leah, a 20-something year old looking for the right man to provide the life she wants, money, not love. Enter Miles Sinclair, a rich man who is recently windowed by his wife’s tragic accidental death close to a year ago, or was it?

They travel to the French countryside to live in Miles chateau for the summer, but his cousin, Vivienne, is also staying with them, who loved the last Mrs. Sinclair and not to mention, this is the house she died in. This book is full of characters with lots of secrets!

This was a good one that held my attention and kept me interested and intrigued into what was going to happen, definitely more of a slow burn/character development at the beginning. I was really enjoying it for the most part, but there a few moments that I just really didn’t like that got in the way of the plot for me! I really wanted to love this one, and it had the plot to make that happen, but it just fell a little short for me, but still enjoyable!!

my rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

The Last Mrs Sinclair is a well-written, dark, psychological thriller. Leah knows exactly what she wants out of life and has done everything in her power to get it. She is engaged to the extremely rich and powerful Miles Sinclair and her wedding is only weeks away. Nothing will get in her way. So, she thinks. When Miles decides on a quick trip to France to visit his family's chateau, Leah isn't too suspicious. With that said, it is the place where Miles' last wife died, and when they arrive, Miles' eccentric cousin is there. Vivienne clearly does not like Leah, but will Vivienne's outlandish actions and outspoken opinions be enough to rattle Miles and cancel the wedding? And was Miles' past wife's death actually an accident? or was it murder?

The Last Mrs Sinclair is well-written with well-balanced chapters, decent character development, and excellent scene descriptions. The overall mystery was a bit slow for me, and, while I didn't necessarily see the huge twist coming, it didn't really shock me either. The characters are all quite unlikeable; there really wasn't anyone to root for in the book. Overall, The Last Mrs Sinclair was a decent domestic psychological thriller with some unpredictable twists.

Fans who love psychological thrillers with a dark, suspenseful edge, The Last Mrs. Sinclair by T.J. Emerson is one to consider. The novel immerses you in a world of wealth, ambition, and hidden secrets, as it follows Leah Williams, who works her way into the life of a wealthy widower, Miles Sinclair. But things quickly unravel as Leah discovers unsettling truths about his first wife’s mysterious death.

The tension in this book is gripping, and it keeps you guessing with its unexpected twists. It’s the kind of story where you think you know what’s going to happen, but Emerson’s skillful writing keeps you on your toes. Plus, the opulent setting adds to the atmosphere, making it perfect for fans of dark, intriguing family dynamics.

If you’re into stories that explore the lengths people will go to for power, status, and revenge, this one has all those elements. It’s a captivating mix of psychological suspense, mystery, and character-driven drama. If you’re looking for a read that keeps you turning the pages late into the night, this could be a perfect pick!

This was a fast paced book (short chapters), that kept me engaged and creeped out the whole time.

The twist wasn’t really that big of a surprise. I wanted more from the characters but they were just meh.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC for review purposes.

I found this novel to be in the proper formula for this type of story. There were really no surprises. The thing that made it 4 instead of 3 stars was the way the story was told. I did enjoy reading it even if I knew from the start what the ending would be.

I love a book that throws in a plot twist halfway through that completely changes everything you think you knew! This book was a slow burn and to be honest I hated every single character, but I couldn't stop reading. I even surprised myself by kind of having a soft spot for Leah by the end. A little dark and very twisted. I give this one 5 stars!!

Leah is determined to win at life. She saw her mother abandoned by her father and promised that she would always keep the power in a relationship. She picks up rich men and discards them when she has had enough. But Miles is different and offers her marriage and a future...
The Last Mrs Sinclair is a psychological thriller, mostly set in France.
Leah is looking to ensnare her next man when she meets widower Miles. The relationship develops quickly and Miles invites her to his French estate. She meets his unwelcoming cousin Vivienne and hears about the mystery surrounding the death of his first wife Riley.
I found Leah difficult to like due to her mercenary behaviour. However I could understand her desire to protect herself emotionally and financially due to the pain she and her mother experienced. I felt so sorry for Miles dealing with his grief and now looking for love again.
There is a big twist that changes the perspective just over a third of the way in. This leads to a complete reassessment of the characters and situation.
I really loved the dynamics of the plot and characters, finding myself totally immersed in the unfolding events. The book is cleverly written and the style of writing is engaging.
The Last Mrs Sinclair is a great psychological thriller and I LOVED the twist.

Leah always wishes for more in the mundane life she leads. Then, by chance, she meets Miles. He is everything she could hope for - he's handsome and then to her absolute joy, she finds out that he lives in a chateau. When he takes her there she is overwhelmed. She feels like she has finally reached her goal in life. The housekeeper is not at all friendly towards her, but she isn't going to.let that get in the way of her happiness. Then rumors start. She hears about the first Mrs Sinclair, how she fell off the balcony, was it suicide or was she pushed?

I really enjoyed this book. I loved how the p.o.v shifted and i never guessed that mid story twist. In my opinion there was little charecter development but it worked for this sort of storyline

The Last Mrs. Sinclair is everything you want in a summer thriller glitzy, dark, and absolutely addictive. T.J. Emerson masterfully pulls you into a world of wealth, secrets, and lies, where nothing is quite what it seems. From the first chapter, the tension is palpable, and it only tightens as the story unfolds.

The characters are sharply drawn, with just enough glamour and danger to keep you second-guessing their every move. Emerson does a brilliant job balancing slow-burn suspense with jaw-dropping twists, and just when you think you’ve figured it out, the story takes another sharp, satisfying turn.

The idea of finding love the second time is enticing, but it’s not always as easy as it might be!
The characters are multi-layered with secrets, the suspense is ‘what really happened’ and the reasons why people are still watching and wondering!
This story is filled with mystery and an unexpected background, Leah is hopeful for her future with Miles, but there are questions around his first wife Riley.
The suspicions build slowly and at times there’s a bit too much explanation, the side characters also were a bit hard to relate to.
A bit quirky with lots of layers to unpack but the story will keep you guessing.

Thanks to the publisher, NetGalley and the author for the opportunity to read and review this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A very enjoyable read, if a slightly implausible plot. It certainly kept me moving on through the book, which is something I always look for. Some books are just too ponderous to be read. Life is too short as they say.
I felt this book had a good balance of mystery, deceit and location.
Very good.

3.5 ⭐️ The Last Mrs. Parrish is a fun, fast-paced, psychological thriller. There were some big plot twists, some surprising and others predictible. I would recommend The Last Mrs. Parrish for other fans of psychological thrillers. Thank you Goldwood Books and Netgalley for the opportunity to read an arc copy of The Last Mrs Parrish.

Leah and Miles meet in a seemingly extraordinary way. His wife took a tumble off a building and she is cruising the nice places and their clientele hoping to meet somebody who likes the finer things in life.
What really happened to the former Mrs Sinclair? She is a lot younger than he is...
The big reveal is shocking and unconventional. Throughout the book, there is a mysterious sense of danger and some people are living outside the expected conventions.
I really liked the book until the end section. Its revelations were hard to digest and left me thinking that these people deserved each other.
It reminded me of some gossipy novels that were savory reads, but hard to personally relate. I guess it takes all kinds to make a world.

Thanks to the author and publisher for a copy of the ARC.. All opinions and reactions are my own. Nevertheless, I couldn't stop reading.

I read a lot of thrillers, and this was unlike any that I've read! Thought this middle portion was a bit slow, but I needed to find out what happened. The epilogue was very interesting to me, and I feel like this lined the book up perfectly for a sequel! Thank you to Boldwood Books for the advanced copy!

This book gives me the same vibes as The Last Mrs. Parish or The Wife Stalker. A really interesting domestic thriller that draws you in from the beginning
