Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for this ARC
I really enjoy this series of books, each one seems to get better.

This is the fourth book in the Ben Harper series, and it was another wonderful read! Reuniting with Ben, Dani, and the other characters felt like catching up with old friends. I particularly enjoyed Pamela's inquisitive nature, even if she does tend to meddle at times. It was also heartwarming to see Ben reconnect with his father.
I was saddened to hear about Robert's illness and sincerely hope to revisit Ben and the group again in the future.
I highly recommend reading this series from the beginning to fully appreciate the characters and their backgrounds.
Thank you to NetGalley and Little, Brown Book group for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion

This is the first Robert Gold novel I've read so wasn't sure what to expect.
It was an enjoyable read edging into the cosy market with so many links between the main characters.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Nine Hidden Lives - Robert Gold
Robert has fast become one of my go-to authors - and I have absolutely loved his Ben Harper series. As a result, I was really looking forward to this one and once again he didn’t disappoint.
An easy fast paced read - further delving into Ben’s world, with his pregnant partner and reappearing father - the action keeps on coming. I was glad to get my head around all the characters in the story - it got a little confusing at times - but I nailed it in the end!
No spoilers here - but for anyone who has read any of Robert’s earlier Harper novels - make sure it’s on your ’To Be Read’ list!

A great thriller from this author. I enjoyed this so much such a great book. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

This is another fantastic instalment of Robert Gold’s Ben Harper series of books. With the usual mass of clues to what really happened buried amongst the conversations shared with us, I did actually figure out the why of this one but not the who. Now all I can do is eagerly await the next book and wonder what there are going to be eight of!
Alongside the mystery of what happened to Dr Jha’s mother 30 years ago, it was great to catch up with Ben, Dani and Pamela and see how their lives have progressed since the last book ended. With how this one ended for them, it’s going to be interesting to see what comes next especially with some of the newer characters that seem like they might be around in the next book too!
The route that this book took us on to discovering the truths was a very interesting story arc which flowed well and gave a need to keep turning the pages. At first to figure out what had happened and then to learn if my guesses were correct.

Loved being back in this world – this one’s definitely my fave so far in the series. I really liked the set up of this book and it was so good solving another mystery with Ben Harper. The pace is super quick, the suspense is spot on, and there were a few twists I didn’t see coming at all. Robert Gold has quickly become one of my go-to thriller writers, and I’ll be keen to read anything he puts out. My only gripe is there are a few too many characters to keep track of at times, which got a bit confusing. But overall, it didn’t take away from the story much.
If you’re into fast-paced thrillers with plenty of twists and a good mystery, this one’s definitely worth a read.
4.25 stars.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of Nine Hidden Lives by Robert Gold.
This is the forth book in the Ben Harper series and my favourite one yet, you could read Nine Hidden Lives as a standalone but I would highly recommend reading the series in order to get the Ben Harper and friends full experience you won’t be disappointed, can’t wait for the next instalment.

This series just keeps on giving. I always feel pretty clueless as I’m reading these books and then all of a sudden everything comes together so seamlessly. Another great thriller - I’m already looking forward to the next!

I love this series of books (which would also work as a standalone) and was very excited to follow the developing adventures of Ben Harper, an investigative journalist and his now heavily pregnant girlfriend, Dani (a DS currently on maternity leave)
This time there are a lot of characters, each well developed and distinct, bringing their own back stories - Pamela (who we have met before) adding not only a touch of humour, but also her astute knowledge and understanding of people; Uma Jha with fabulous qualities, strength and a determination to discover the truth about what happened to her mother, bringing up struggles Ben has faced himself.
The story is multi layered and fascinating, including intriguing mysteries from the past as well as plenty of compelling action to keep the police busy in the current day.
Another totally brilliant read by Robert Gold, absorbing, addictive fast-paced reading!
Having read an article in The Bookseller recently, about the health struggles Robert is currently facing (mentioned also in the acknowledgments), I have everything crossed for him (& hoping this is not the last read we get!)

Nine Hidden Lives by Robert Gold is the 4th book in the excellent Ben Harper series and what an excellent series this has been. I have loved it especially his fourth book it was his best so far. Once I started to read it I could not put it down.. It is full of great twists and turns throughout, it was a roller coaster ride, I love the Ben Harper character and I am so looking forward to read more books within this series.
Another Superb Book and a must read series. I highly recommend them.

I have really enjoyed the previous books in this series, so was excited to read this one!
Catching up with Ben who is looking into the 30-year old cold case, while another story from a similar time is interwoven throughout. It was an engaging and twisty following this great bunch of characters who, while this could probably cope as a standalone, you will appreciate more having read the rest of the series.
If this is to be the last in this series, as the acknowledgements would suggest, then what a wonderful way to finish it!
Sending all my best wishes to Robert.

First let me say I am beyond gutted this is the last in the Ben Harper series. I have loved this series. I enjoy Ben and his little army so much. Thoughts to the author, wishing him good health.
This is of course an excellent read. Initially I felt it was a little slow. I wasn’t sure where the plot would take me but as always with this series the story comes together in unexpected ways.
I’m so happy for Ben that he got his happy ending. I only wish we would meet him again.
Thanks for the advance copy. I loved it

I have loved Robert Gold's other books so I was excited for this and it was just as intense and fast paced as the other with its danger, drama and suspense.

First t book I have read from this author. It would have been beneficial to have the previous ones but that said it was a good mystery. Plenty of characters and their lives interwoven throughout the story. Well written. Would definitely read the next offering. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to review it.

Haven’t read any of the previous episodes and obviously a lot of the characters have previous history so I felt at a bit of a loss at times. But it’s a well constructed tale with plenty requisite twists and turns to keep one’s attention. I will try some of the earlier stories which will then add to my knowledge of this interesting reporter.

Character rich and at times i had problems remembering who was who,I really wish I had read the others in the series as although was good as a stand alone I would have benefitted from Ben’s back story etc
Exciting to read none the less

This was my first novel by Robert Gold. It was an easy read but I suspect I'd have enjoyed it more if I'd read the previous novels in the series. The setting is in London but it felt to me, with all of the community goings on, as though the author had transported Ambridge from The Archers there. It also felt like the case was solved by the community with the assistance of the main character. Overall though, it's a decent story.

"Nine Hidden Lives" is the fourth book in the Ben Harper series, and let me tell you, it’s a fantastic read! In this installment, we get to follow two intriguing stories. The first one features Ben as he investigates a cold case from 30 years ago—specifically, the murder of Dr. Jha's mother. The second storyline revolves around Pamela, who is coping with the heartbreaking loss of her husband in a tragic accident that happens around the same time. At first, I was a little unsure how these two plots connected, but as the story progressed, everything came together beautifully.
The writing style is engaging and fast-paced, keeping me hooked from start to finish. I really appreciated how Robert handled some tough subjects like domestic abuse with sensitivity, which added depth to the book.
The characters are well-developed and feel so real and relatable. You really find yourself rooting for them and getting invested in their journeys.
Even though this is part of a series, you can totally enjoy it as a standalone. However, I’d recommend reading the previous books in order to get the full experience of the characters and their growth.
I wish I could say I'm looking forward to the next book, but sadly, it seems there won’t be any more.
I also want to give a big shout-out to NetGalley and the wonderful folks at Little, Brown Book Group for providing me with a digital review copy of this book. All the opinions in this review are all mine, and I’m excited to share them with you!

This could be great to read as a standalone
But I'd recommend to anyone go go and read the others. It's just like coming home to a place and people you know if you do. Because we learn and revisit this little clan of people. You get to catchup with characters you've come to know who are in some bigger and lesser parts arcs seamlessly throughout the series.
This time we have an unsolved death. We have loneliness and age. We have threats and people wanting their secrets to stay buried.
And we have another great book.
I fear this could be the last in this series. From the end of the books ad on words it might be. But this author deserves all the praise for giving and sharing wjat they have from their books. Thank you indeed
Robert.
