While this book is a psychological thriller, there is also a lot of family drama involved. It was an entertaining book and easy to read and I plan to read more from this author.

Although this book kept me guessing, it took me over a week to finish as I was struggling with it. I guessed what the plot was half way through the book. Would recommend it.

This book is definitely a slow burn. I feel like it takes all the way to the end of the book to get the twist you are wanting. I enjoyed the plot but I feel like you don’t get the whole picture of Stig and lily doesn’t get the wrap up in the end that you would want.

I love thriller books with good twists so I was really excited for this book.

Unfortunately I kept waiting for the big twist that never really came. I guess there was a twist but it was one that was easy to spot. The ending felt hurried and skipped major parts.

For me it was a tad disappointing, the characters never felt very fleshed out, it was hard to empathise with anyone until the last few chapters. H

owever I can chalk that up to having read hundreds of different mystery/ thriller style books.

For anyone wanting to try their first one this could be a good option.

In my opinion, this book is less of a thriller and more of a family drama. I really struggled to connect with Stig; he came off as more irritating than relatable, and his actions were often frustrating throughout the story. I did like the concept of the book, although it felt a bit slow at first before it finally gained some momentum. The ending, however, was quite confusing and raised more questions than it answered, leaving me feeling unsatisfied. It took some unexpected twists and ended rather suddenly, leaving a few loose threads. All in all, I didn’t hate the book, but I can’t say I was a huge fan either.

This took me a while to get into and I felt like it took a while to really get started but when it did I really enjoyed it. It kept me guessing and there was a good level of tension and suspense

This book is about Lily and her husband Stig going to a celebrity restaurant for their anniversary dinner. Unexpectedly, the celebrity, Hector, dines with them and proceeds to invite them to a private dinner at his home. As the book proceeds, you get a glimpse into the strained relationship between Lily and Stig and the eeriness that ensues at these dinner parties.

This was a very gripping book; absolutely read this in like 2 hours in one sitting. Although it really pulls you in and you want to know more, I found the plot to be lacking. There were definitely points throughout the story as Lily is uncovering more of Stig's past that gave me the creeps because everything was connecting into one big knot. The flashbacks definitely helped sell the creepiness and why Stig is acting so distant. The ending was a bit random and hastily completed. 3.5/5 stars.

The Dinner Party had the twists that kept me interested in reading until the end. The book started strong, then slowed down a little too much in the middle. By the end, it went so quickly though. A good plot & interesting twists and turns that I didn’t expect.

I found this book enticing from the start! I am, or once was a huge master chef fan so it gripped me from the start. I actually even thought the name Hector Bolson Woods was an actual contestant of the show! I haven’t followed the show in years) but I had to quickly google anyway to make sure! Around the second half of the book, it started dragging and going downhill for me… I started questioning why these other characters are acting so shady, why they’re even part of the story… what their purpose was…. Then the story started shifting back and forth from when Stig/Nicholas was a child and how he knew Hector from when he was a child. I found the backstory so boring, it kept dragging on and on. Finally near the end of the story, we have some answers for the minor characters. But I personally feel the story could’ve been cut down a bit…

The antagonist is weak, the resolution forced, and many plot points, including Lily's connection to Jack, remain unexplained. Overall, the story is unsatisfactory and contains mild swearing. I found this to be a very slow story and not as I expected from the description. Sorry but this one want for me but I'm sure other readers will enjoy it

I did enjoy this book, I was really interested in the plot as it’s dissimilar to anything I’ve read before.

I found myself however wishing that the pace would pick up as I found it to be quite a slow burn but at the end it went too fast? The gripping thriller part went from 0 to 60 very quickly.

I was entertained reading this book and I do think it’s well written by the author and I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good thriller and a quick read!

Every page flew by, it was amazing, fast-paced and the ending left me jawdropping on the floor.

I really enjoyed this book. I was quickly taken in by the unique plot and characters. I finished it in almost one sitting as I was totally engrossed. I guessed early on in the book what the twist might be, however it was more complex than I originally thought.
This is another great book by Nina Manning and one that I’d definitely recommend,

This was a very slow burn. The storyline was very engaging but focused heavily on the Lily and Stig and how tumultuous their relationship was. It took a while for the 'thriller' to come into play. It was honestly hard to get past the fact that Lily and Stig had been married for so long and he had hidden so much from her. And it also seemed so far fetched that Stig wouldn't have put his foot down about being around Hector given their past.

All around it was just a strange plot.

This was an enjoyable book. Kept me entertained the whole way through. The plot was a bit predictable I thought, but entertaining.
