⚠️Please note that this is the third and final book in the Blade and Bones series. This review WILL contain spoilers if you have not read the first two books in this series.⚠️

Well, Dacre is back, more powerful than ever, and Dacre has certainly not given up on the prophecy. He is still working hard on getting "his" Fire Queen.

Fenn, on the other side, is trying his best to protect his wife, and if you have read the first books already, you know that she is not making it easy for him.😂
Verve is still as stubborn as in the earlier books. She will just solve everything herself.😂

Are you ready for this?
Good!

"I'm coming with you."

Verve has gone through such a transformation in these books, and I am not just referring to the powers she attained in the first book. We can see that on the book covers as well.

This book might be the last book in the series, which does not mean we are missing out on magic, danger, new experiences, and plans. Oh yes. Let us not forget betrayal.

I still enjoy the worldbuilding in the trilogy, and Fenn has grown on me. I didn't know in the first book as Dacre claimed to protect Verfe from him.
I feel for Verve. She still seems to carry the weight of the world(s) on her shoulders.

"He actually dared to growl at her."

What will happen with the deal Verve made with Igraine?

What is Linwood?

What happened after the mention of missing middlings in the last book?

Will Verve fulfil the prophecy?

Will you like the end?😊

Forged is the third and final installment in the Blade & Bone trilogy, bringing readers back to the fae realm of Letorheas. The story follows Verve, who is embracing her role as the Fire Queen and continues to learn to wield her powerful magic.

In this concluding volume, Verve once again faces her persistent nemesis—the fae lord who seeks to control the land with her by his side. Along with this ongoing threat, she grapples with a binding promise to a powerful being and the daunting task of escaping a realm no one has ever escaped before.

While I hadn’t read the first two books, Forged managed to stand on its own enough to provide a satisfying conclusion to the series. The stakes feel higher here, the pace picks up, and the action intensifies, which kept me engaged throughout. Verve’s journey is full of both old and new challenges as she strives to bring peace to both the mortal and magical realms.

That said, reading the final book without the context of the earlier installments occasionally made it hard to fully appreciate the character relationships and the weight of certain plot points. But the story’s momentum and Verve’s growth kept me invested.

Overall, Forged offers a compelling and action-packed finale for fans of the series, and even newcomers can enjoy the thrilling conclusion and richly imagined world.

I loved the first two books in this series, so I was esthetic to come back to the third. It is a thrilling and overall satisfying conclusion to the triology.

I actually really liked this book. It was an easy read and I enjoyed all of the characters. I actually would have liked the hawthorn trees to have played a bigger part but 3 books in would require a change of direction I think. I appreciate a series and with this one you really should read the first two books before attempting the third. I tried to skip them and didn’t make it far

I can’t figure out why Dacre STILL seems to think that Verve would ever be his queen. Is he truly that delusional? 3 books of her trying to destroy him and he’s still trying to get her. I wouldn’t trust her with a 10 foot pole quite frankly. And that’s of course before she got her magic, Now I’ll stay 5-6 miles away, lol

I feel like something is missing with Fenn. I keep waiting for him to become the bad guy or maybe he’s lacking substance but he definitely needs some character development of some kind.

Overall I really liked this book and the story and plot behind it and would offer a few tweaks that would be grammatical corrections but not enough to be distracting.

Forged concludes a trilogy that I have thoroughly enjoyed every step of the way. I love finding books like this that are satisfying and feel complete. Verve final evolution was wonderfully done, and her time after falling through the portal is probably my favorite part of the series.

Forged is the third book of the Blade & Bone trilogy. It returns us to the fae realm of Letorheas where our protagonist, Verve, is facing her destiny as the Fire Queen and continuing to learn how to handle her powerful magic.

This final part once again pits Verve against her nemesis, the fae lord she can’t seem to be free from, who wishes to rule the land with Verve by his side. She also has other complications to contend with, including a binding promise to a powerful being, and finding her way out of a realm no one has ever escaped from before.

Overall, I found it to be a satisfying conclusion to the series. Verve faces old and new challenges in her attempt to bring peace to the mortal and magical realms. There is more action, the pace picks up, and the stakes are higher as the story comes to an end.

Well, all I can say is that Beth Overmyer never disappoints!

I waited ever so patiently (yet constantly checking) for the release of this book. I was lucky enough to be gifted the e-arc, and I absolutely devoured it!

Verve and Fenn🥹 and Finley! I absolutely loved the dynamic between the characters and Verve’s character growth was written so well.

What a way to end a trilogy! P.S., all three books are just as good as each other, so you definitely need to give this a read.

Thank you NetGalley and Flame Tree Press for granting me access to this e-arc in exchange for my honest review.

4.5/5 stars! I loved the first books in this trilogy and was overjoyed to get a chance to read this book. What a way to wrap up a series. I appreciated the final growth for Verve. This mixed fae elements with an almost Alice-in-wonderland energy that kept me turning the page to see what happens next. A great conclusion to a great series.
