A fascinating window into the world of surfing and the icons behind some of the biggest wins and moments in its history. I’m not a surfer and don’t follow the sport enough to know about all of these people but I love stories about those who excel in their craft so I found the stories interesting. I thought they gave insight on who these surfers and what they have accomplished but, perhaps, the more important takeaway is the sense of community that can be felt in each story, the true love and respect they feel for each other. It’s the ultimate glimpse into their world for an outsider. I enjoyed getting to know each of the subjects but sometimes felt like there wasn’t enough for an outsider to connect to; it’s all foreign to me but intriguing at the same time.
