I Lost a Day is a beautifully illustrated lesson in emotions and coping. The verses are gorgeous and flow nicely. It has a calming influence on the reader.
I Lost a Day encapsulates rage and sadness well. I found myself resonating with it and appreciating the affirmations. Briana Corr Scott’s writing is very engaging.
Thank you Nimbus Publishing, NetGalley, and Briana Corr Scott for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I’m not sure I can fully describe how this book made me feel on first read (I read it over a few times before coming back to write my review). This book is stunning, and not just visually. The rhyme scheme is lovely and makes it easy to read, and the content is perfect. The main message- understanding that sadness (potentially depression) can happen but there’s is beauty and light in life to pull you through, even in the most minute but special details. On top of the content, the illustrations are astonishing.y beautiful. I would love to own a physical copy of this book to have on hand for my children to read as they grow and experience the world, and all it has to offer, for themselves.

I received an electronic ARC from Nimbus Publishing through NetGalley.
Beautifully illustrated book that offers ideas for kids who are dealing with strong emotions. Readers see all the ways they "lost a day" as they coped with anger, sadness, etc. Scott offers a gentle tone and affirmation for the emotions they feel and the ways they cope. The soft focus artwork encourages being gentle. A definite must for families and classrooms.
