A very charming read, sweet and heartfelt. I dig the artwork and you’ve got some solid character design. Especially the Arbiters, super cool. I read this with my kiddos and we all had a good time. Thank you for the opportunity.

wow, the art is so beautiful. and the story is cute, a little predictable but it's for children or middle grade I guess so it's ok. and I think I would love to check part 2 and see what will happen.

Avery and her dad run a gas station out in the middle of nowhere. She learns magic tricks just to keep herself sane. One day while her dad goes to run an errand, she wanders into the shed and finds an old timey mining lamp. Avery rubs the lamp to clean off the grime and finds she gets much more than she bargained for, Gribblet, a herald for genies.
This one was super cute. I would recommend it for elementary students and middle schoolers. I can’t wait for more adventures involving, Avery and Gribblet.

This story was so inventive! It felt like a pretty original idea, having someone be the child of a genie and a human is something I'd never heard of before. I really enjoyed it!

I enjoyed Avery and Gribblet’s story so much. I wasn’t fully sure what I was getting into but I cannot wait to share this story with my son.
The book starts out with Avery living a very lonely life in the middle of nowhere where with just her Dad when she stumbles upon an old lamp in the shed at their gas station. From the lamp pops out Gribblet who helps Avery discover the truth about herself and the meaning of what family is.
Not only was the story amazing but the art work really brought it all to life. This is geared more towards middle school age, so if you have a child that age that is looking for an adventure this is the book to get them.

A young girl find out her mother was a genie that was imprisoned for falling in love with her human father and goes on a rescue mission in this graphic novel perfect for 8-12 year old readers.
I think young readers will enjoy the fun, fast paced, and colorful graphic novel!
Thank you so much to NetGalley and IDW Publishing for providing an arc in exchange for an honest review.

The illustrations were cute, and the concept strong. The book even had a pretty good balance of text and art! There is a lot of promise here, I'll certainly be keeping an eye out for this one to see how it does when it comes out to see how the kids are receiving it.

The story starts with a young girl Avery who tries to learn magic as she feels alone and wants some excitement. She stumbles on a lamp that she tries to light, but a little creature-herald- comes out of it and tells her she is granted three small wishes. Avery later finds out that her dad had the lamp before and fell in love with the genie in it-who is her mom.
The concept is amazing. I love Gribblet and the concept of having a herald -they are just there to announce what the lamp does because the genie had enough of doing it themselves?!.
It was adventurous, cute, and heartwarming. I loved it and would give it 5 stars!!!
