Riding the High is the perfect blend of small-town charm, sizzling romance, and just the right amount of Wild West drama. Paisley Hope delivers a story that feels comforting yet exciting, with Cole and Ginger’s accidental marriage setting the stage for all the delicious tension you’d want from a forbidden romance. The chemistry between them is undeniable, and watching their arrangement shift from a convenient lie to something much more real was both heartwarming and addictive.

I loved how the book balanced steamy, magnetic moments with genuine emotional depth - Cole’s devotion to his daughter and Ginger’s desire to break free from her polished, political life gave the characters richness beyond the romance. The small-town setting adds an extra layer of coziness, with familiar faces and a strong sense of community that made me want to escape to Laurel Creek myself.

Riding the High is a must-read for fans of the Chestnut Springs series or anyone who enjoys cowboys, forbidden heat, and the kind of slow-burn that sneaks up on you until you realise you’re completely hooked. An absolute five-star escape - I couldn’t put it down!

Riding the High is everything I expected from Ginger and Cole’s book. From the first time we met them in Holding the Reins, it was obvious that they were meant to be, and Riding the High only grows that obvious sexual tension and palpable chemistry. These characters know each other inside and out, and it’s so interesting to read a romance book where they don’t need to learn each other because they’re already soulmates. I was enraptured from the off.

The family that Ginger, Cole and Mabel create is genuinely heart-warming. Part of me wants to have read Mabel’s perspective in all of this because she is such a pivotal part of their relationship. Their team wouldn’t be whole without the three of them. I’m also just intrigued as to how Gemma interacts with Mabel when they’re together, but maybe reading that would be too upsetting.

Riding the High is a steamy book, as all of the Silver Pines books are, but I appreciated that there was genuine emotion in these scenes and most of them served a purpose other than just two characters having sex. What I had felt made Training the Heart lack heart and intrigue was its abundance of sex scenes that felt unconducive to the plot. There will always be an element of that in an open door book like this, but I appreciated that these scenes felt far more purposeful than their predecessor and that backstory was not compromised in place of it.

Riding the High brings the Silver Pines series much higher up in my ratings again, and I’m so excited to see whose story is next. Liv and, I assume, <spoiler>Asher</spoiler>? Or maybe even <spoiler>Cassie and Haden</spoiler>? Time will tell!

With thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read and review this ahead of publication.

In the third Silver Pines book we follow Cole Ashby, newly elected sheriff and devoted single dad to the adorable Mabel, and Ginger Danforth, best friend to Cole’s sister and daughter of a Kentucky congressman. When a drunken night in Vegas ends in a wedding chapel, the two strike a deal to stay married until Ginger’s father is re-elected and Cole’s probationary period comes to and end. But as both struggle to hide their feelings, their accidental marriage starts to feel very real.

This series just continues to get better and better. Having seen a few hints to Cole and Ginger’s relationship in previous books, I wasn’t quite sure how their story would work but I have to say I absolutely loved it.

The absolute highlight for me was the friendship that Ginger and Cole had. It was deep and it was true and I loved the interweaving of past and present to really show how this developed into a strong base for a relationship. Yes there are a few standard romance tropes in the book (e.g. some miscommunication) but above all, Ginger and Cole (and their relationship) felt real. I was rooting for them from the start.

The book is of course not just about Cole and Ginger but also Mabel, Cole’s daughter. With Mabel we saw both her bright personality and her fears and I was so please to see such a strong relationship between daughter and daddy, but also the development of a really healthy stepmother-stepdaughter relationship between Ginger and Mabel. I genuinely couldn’t get enough of the three of them.

A fantastic addition to the series for fans of: small town romance, friends to loves, best friend’s brother, single dad, and secret marriage. I haven’t stopped smiling about this book since finishing it.

What a delight to be back in Silver Pines and to finally be reading Ginger and Cole’s story.

This book, like every other book in the series, was such a fun read. There was the perfect level of swoon and spice and everything that comes with a small town romance.

From secret friendship to secret marriage, this book follows Ginger and Cole as they navigate their feelings for each other whilst balancing the impact it will have on their loved ones.

Highly recommend you picking up this series of small town spice is your thing - you won’t regret it.

Thank you NetGalley and Random House UK for the ARC.

Riding the High is the third book in Paisley Hope’s Silver Pine series. Whilst it can be read and enjoyed as a standalone, it is best read as part of the series; especially given the continuation of the characters’ storylines from the other books. I have loved this series and thoroughly enjoyed this latest instalment.

Riding the High takes us back to Laurel Creek and the wonderful Ashby clan. This time we have Cole and Ginger’s story, both of whom were my favourite secondary characters in the prior novels. Cole is the middle child of the Ashbys and has just been elected as county sheriff, whilst Ginger is Cece’s (the youngest Ashby) long time best friend. During a wild weekend in Vegas, Ginger and Cole play a game of truth or dare and, after a few too many drinks, wake up as the new Mr and Mrs Ashby. With no quick way out, they strike a deal: stay secretly married until Ginger’s father is re-elected and Cole lands the sheriff job permanently. But as the pair are forced to spend an increasing amount of time in each other’s company, sparks fly and their accidental marriage starts to feel dangerously real.

This was one of the best friends to lovers that I’ve read in a long time. I absolutely adored the friendship between Cole and Ginger and how they’d always been there for one another. Though the depth of their friendship had been kept relatively secret from the wider Ashby clan you could clearly see that there was a spark between them in the first two books. That shark was able to flourish and catch fire, in the absolute best possible way, in this book.

This book had everything we loved from the first books, including the glorious small town location, the wonderful Ashby clan and of course the ever endearing Mable. I loved how central Mable was to the story, and the relationship that Ginger built with her. It was also brilliant to have the lead up to CeCe and Nash’s wedding and the event itself, whilst also getting a wonderful new little Ashby from Wade and Ivy.

I cannot get enough of this series. Huge recommend from me.

COLE WESTON ASHBY 🥵🔥🫶🏻

She's done it again, I don't think a book has made me laugh, grin like a cheshire cat and kick my feet as much as this one. I swear this series just gets better and better.

I am OBSESSED with Cole, Ginger & Mabel and I didn't want it to end.

Beyond grateful for the opportunity to receive my third ARC for this series.

Cole Weston Ashby…
That's it, that's my entire review.

OK, seriously, this book was amazing. I have been wanting and waiting for Cole and Ginger's story, and as per usual, Paisley Hope did not disappoint. It was everything.

I honestly could take or leave the ‘friends to lovers’ trope, but the way this is written is next level. It shows us the growth of the friendship, the way they are consistently, through everything in life, there for each other. No expectations, no judgement. Just 100% each other's person.

Cole is so hot, the sheriff, law daddy, the tatted up dirty talker and the most adorable and loving dad. Yes please, give me it all.

Ginger is probably one of my favourite FMC's. Any FMC Paisley writes is an icon, but Ginger had me laughing out loud, she is so sassy and full of wit and comebacks. I fully wish I was her.

Mabel, Mabes, Half-Pint, is the cutest kid. We get to see her sunshine personality and sass, but also the vulnerability in her. She is just a little girl with some big, sometimes scary, feelings.

As this is the 3rd book in the series, we also get more of the past couples, CeCe & Nash and Wade & Ivy, which I love cause I always miss characters I have read about and want updates on them.

Hoping for Liv's book next… fingers crossed

4.5 stars, my new favourite from the series so far! Paisley Hope just keeps getting better with these books! I've loved Cole and Ginger through the other books and getting their story didn't disappoint. I love a single dad romance, its one of my favourite tropes. I loved the relationship between Cole and Mabel and Mabel's relationship with Ginger.
Ginger and Cole have been close for a very long time they have such an easygoing friendship and are always their for each other. I truly loved the relationship they had!
Thank you to Netgalley, Penguin and Paisley Hope for the ARC.

I knew from book one of this series that I was going to fall in love with Cole & Ginger, but I did not expect to fall so hard. Up until now, Wade Ashby has been my favourite, but Law Daddy has now taken the top spot in my heart. I just adored everything about this story, but Ginger and Mabel's relationship was one of the stand outs throughout the whole book - they were just adorable together. The epilogue was absolute perfection - seeing the whole Ashby/Carter crew all happy with their kids, it rounded it all of superbly.

4.5 star read - Paisley Hope is easily becoming a go to author for me!
Every book in this series gets better and better, as the characters continue to worm their way into my heart!

This small-town/cowboy-ish romance is the story i've been waiting for since Ginger and Cole first bantered their way across the pages in the first book! Heart felt and entertaining from the get go, this is a great fun read with a perfect amount of sass and spice (+cops come with their own handcuffs).

This story provides a great balance of tension and light fun moments, especially with the Daddy's Girls Trio!

Cannot recommend it enough!
Thanks to NetGalley and Random House UK, Cornerstone for this ARC (it's potentially made my year!)

‘I’d say we like each other a little more than we let on.’

I absolutely adored this book and don’t even know where to start with my review! Pretty sure I’m now going to be in a huge reading slump because nothing else sounds as appealing to pick up.

I’ve been so looking forward to Cole and Ginger’s story and not only did it not disappoint, it far exceeded my expectations, which shouldn’t surprise me given I never met a Paisley Hope book I didn’t love.

Ginger is Cole’s sister CeCe’s best friend so they’ve known each other a long time but over the past few years they’ve developed a close friendship of their own. A weekend in Vegas results in them waking up wearing wedding rings and unable to get an annulment, so they agree to wait 3 months before they can file for divorce.
Cole is a single dad to his 8 year old daughter Mabel, and Ginger moves in with them to help look after her over the summer whilst she isn’t working her teaching job and they’re keeping their marriage a secret.

I loved seeing how Cole and Ginger’s relationship grew. They already had such a strong foundation and little in jokes between them. Their chemistry was phenomenal throughout the story and their banter was top tier. Ginger and Mabel grew really close too and had a lovely mother/ daughter bond. I thought Mabel was a great side character who enhanced the story and wasn’t just there for the sake of him being a single dad or to tick some kind of box. The 3 of them becoming a team was lovely. I had a huge smile on my face throughout this book and didn’t want it to end!

Huge thank you to Paisley, Penguin Random House, and NetGalley for this ARC, I am so grateful to have read it early and highly highly recommend picking this book up when it releases on 8th May!

i went into this one without having read the 2nd and 1st book (they're on my list next!). the cover and the description sucked me in. i'm a big lover of small town romances and friends to lovers tropes as well.

cole. COLE. what a man. his heart is huge (*cough* not the only thing *cough*) and i loved the dynamic he had with his daughter and rest of his family. i friggin adored ginger too. she is independent and brave and has a heart of gold too. the banter between them had me smiling like a fool. the side characters were really loveable too, so i will be going on to read holding the reins and training the heart ASAP to find out more about them. very easily one of my favourite books.

if you're into elsie silver, lyla sage or bailey hannah, this is defs one to put on your tbr!

As a huge fan of the first two books I hoped this would have the same effect on me as the others and it did not disappoint!
This is Cole’ Ashbys book and I know those of us that have read the other have already guessed who his leading lady was going to be.
Cole & Gingers banter is always top tier and this has been built on in the previous books so it was no surprise to see that the connection these two had went beyond a friendship and to something so much more. I loved every moment in this book and it exceeded every expectation.

Not me both waiting and nagging Paisley for the release of this arc. Because I will never get enough of Silver Pines. Riding the High has filled that gap in my heart that was left after Training the Heart.

It was worth the wait for a bit of Cole Ashby action and after the development of Ginger throughout the other two books in the series, our girl finally got her moment.

Let’s start with the tropes. Single dad? Check. Secret marriage? Check. Small town, forced proximity, ‘it’s always been you’? Check, check and CHECK. (the G, iykyk).

Ginger is a fiery, fiercely independent character who has had a years long friendship with her best friends brother. To others, they’re frenemies, but the truth is deeper than what meets the eye. As a Congressman's daughter, Ginger has a particular image to uphold. As does the newly appointed town Sheriff.

Cole is juggling being a single dad to Mabel, with a deadbeat for his child’s mother, and taking on his new role as Sheriff. In typical playboy fashion, he spends his free time sleeping around, refusing to change the casual to serious at the expense of his daughter. Plus, the women that come and go, have never been the one he truly wanted...

Two people. Large expectations. A weekend in Vegas? What a better way to let loose? However, if rom-coms have taught us anything, Vegas + Alcohol + two people who are attracted to each other and refuse to act on it = an inevitable disaster.

Ginger and Cole find themselves in a difficult situation. While navigating how to handle their ‘accidental nuptials’ and keeping it to themselves, Ginger takes the role of Mabel’s nanny throughout the summer. Enter, forced proximity.

The development of their relationship and finally succumbing to the inevitable was done so well. At no point did it feel forced, but more of a natural development and acknowledgement of long repressed feelings. And the relationship between Ginger and Mabel was the most adorable thing I have ever witnessed.

I could write for hours about Riding the High, but I refuse to give too much away. I waited so long for this installment and not a single part of this book disappointed me. It was all that I wanted and more.

Fans of rugged single fathers, I suggest you get this on your TBR ASAP.

Thank you NetGalley and Penguin for the arc in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you so much netgalley and penguin for the ARC of this book. I am a huge fan of this author and this series and this book did not disappoint.

It was one of my most anticipated reads of the year and I loved it. I read it in less than 24 hours because I was having the best time. It’s so fun, romantic and spicy!

The banter and the chemistry between the 2 main characters is fantastic.

I loved this book & highly recommend this whole series to anyone that’s a fan of small town, spicy, cowboy romance.

Move over Wade Ashby, there’s a new sheriff in town! Cole Weston Ashby is down bad and we stan an emotionally intelligent king. I knew I was going to love Cole + Ginger’s (and Mabel’s) story, I was not prepared for just how much. I had tears in my eyes at one point, I was absolutely Riding the High! I’m obsessed with the Ashby fam + everything that Paisley Hope writes. I’m so excited to see there’s a book #4 and #5 on the way, I can’t wait for Liv to get her very own happily ever after! See you soon Silver Pines!

Thank you so much Penguin, Random House UK and NetGalley for the chance to read this before it’s released on 8th May 2025! I’m already counting down the days so I can listen to the audiobook! 🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵

The Silver Pines series book I have been most excited for, Cole and Ginger finally get their story. A secret friendship spanning years leads to a drunken hook up with serious consequences. Cole has met his match with Ginger and navigating their lives together will be chaotic and fun! I loved this one so much, the single dad and friends to lovers is always a hit for me!
