Ahhhhh I’m so sad this series is over! It’s so lovely. I already can’t wait to read this on audio when it’s released and my book club pick it 😂
I was right about a lot of my suspicions but I really enjoyed getting to see it all play out. This is a very fitting end to an utterly fantastic series.

The Forest in the Sky is the epic conclusion to the magical GREENWILD eco-thriller. In this third book, Daisy and Max go on separate, high stakes adventures journeying to incredible places before finally joining together to fight a fierce battle of the interconnected worlds.
The Forest in the Sky is another richly imagined story with extraordinary world building, strong characters and a plot with more twists than a cinnamon swirl. The cover is stunningly beautiful as are the black and white illustrations throughout. Tears were shed at the end of this truly wonderful series.

The Forest in the Sky is the gripping finale of the epic Greenwild series by Pari Thomson. I was thrilled to have the opportunity for an early read on NetGalley and jumped in full of anticipation of something wonderful. Teeming with life and rich world-building, The Forest in the Sky is a fantastic story of hidden gifts, strength and magic. True friendship, family connections and the pursuit of truth grows out of an adventure that leaves readers on the edge of their seats.
Having discovered so much about the magic flowing through her veins, Daisy sets off in search of her mother and the other Botonists who are being held prisoner in the heart of the Amazon rainforest. Because the Grim Reapers are still after her, Daisy can trust no one. She plans to have her good friend, Max, by her side but when there’s an attack on the mission and Max is shipwrecked, Daisy has to go on without him. Through parallel adventures, Daisy and Max both learn so much about themselves and their families.
There is an intensity and responsibility in this story: “If Amazeria falls, the whole rainforest falls. And if that happens, the entire world will be lost.” Greenwild is a book series automatically associated with the environment and conservation, celebrating the purest of magic – nature.
Thank you to Macmillan Children’s Book for this outstanding series.

The Greenwild series is one of my favourite recent middle grade series and so when I was sent a copy of the new book I was so excited and couldn’t wait to read it. It absolutely doesn’t disappoint and is probably my favourite one out of the three.
Daisy and her friends are still trying to find her mother and save the kidnapped Botanists. They’ve managed to recruit Max and the Iffenwilders to help them but still face a huge challenge with the reapers doing everything they can to stop and capture them.
It’s a brilliant adventure with really strong themes of conservation and sustainability woven through without being too obvious or jarring. The descriptions of the natural worlds created and some of the imaginary plants, places and animals are really vivid. The characters are really likeable and realistic - you understand the decisions they make and forgive them for the the mistakes and flaws they have.
The illustrations by Elisa Paganelli are brilliant and they compliment the story so well - they’re so detailed and beautiful and I often found myself pausing while reading to have a really good look at them.
I really really enjoyed reading this and now need to book a trip to the Amazon to see it for myself!

This was a fantastic ending to the series. Full of excitement, crazy things happening and breath taking moments.
I love the way Thomson connects different worlds, including our own, showing how damage to one ecosystem can cause damage to another.
This is definitely an environmentalist book, but it does so without being preachy.
The characters are wonderful, the story moving. What more could you want? Just be sure to read the first 2 books in the trilogy first, otherwise you'll be lost!

These books have reliably delivered all the entertainment, travel and adventure. We’ve come to know the characters well over the course of the books and I’m rooting for them so hard to find the happy endings to their stories. And in this one, we see the culmination of two books of build up and a life and death fight against the Reapers.
Daisy, accompanied by her faithful 5 oclock club friends, embark on a dangerous journey along with Max, who, as the new king is the Iffenwild, has much to prove. They face a lot in this final story and have a lot to overcome. But as ever, the strength of their friendships is so heartwarming to read.
It was an exciting adventure and one that did true justice to the series. I absolutely raced through the ending as I just couldn’t put it down and needed to know how it was all going to conclude. It was all so lovely and you’re left with a big fat fulfilled smile on your face by the end!
