After solving a series of murders, Maisie Cooper is looking forward to her upcoming wedding. Her fiance, Jack, has been on a posting to Newcastle and is only returning a week before the big day. However, Maisie is distracted from her plans as it appears someone is threatening her and Jack. As they run through a list of potential suspects, Maisie is supported by friends in the village and beyond.
I haven't read one of these books before and therefore found it really hard to get into this one as it is so reliant on characters from the previous novels. That's probably why it didn't really engage me. Having said that I loved the 1970s setting with all the references to decimalisation etc.

Amateur sleuth Maisie Cooper is busy planning her wedding to police officer Jack Wingard. After a tumultuous six months solving various murder investigations, she is excited to finally marry her childhood sweetheart. But not everyone is happy for the bride-to-be. Maisie dismisses a few strange 'accidents' targeting her and Jack as pure coincidences. But when she receives a threatening note, Maisie can't deny that someone is after her. Someone who wants revenge.
The sixth outing for Maisie & whilst it could be read on its own to fully appreciate it I’d recommend reading in order as past characters do make appearances. I’ve grown to really like both Maisie & Jack & thoroughly enjoyed this cosy mystery. There are the usual twists, turns & red herrings. The big question is will they make it to the alter? – well that would be telling
I voluntarily read and reviewed a special copy of this book; all thoughts and opinions are my own

This is a common review for Murder at the Fair, Sunny View, and Murder at the Wedding.
I know i'm a loving a series when I read all the instalment, bought or pre-ordered them. This is what I did for this series as I always had fun and read the solid novels as fast as i could
These three novels are one better than the previous and I had a lot of fun catching up with the characters and being involved in the stories.
Lighthearted, solid and full of surprises.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher for this ARC, all opinions are mine

Well, this was okay and readable but I think that's about as far as I can go. I think Maisie Cooper and I have probably parted company. Sorry. Thanks to Netgalley.

No Coincidence..
The Sixth outing in the Maisie Cooper series of mysteries finds Maisie ready to enter into marriage but, in true form, not before she has got to the bottom of another mystery - those odd incidents that appear to be happening to both her and husband to be, Jack. Maisie simply cannot put them down to coincidence any longe - and it seems that someone somewhere is out for revenge. Another enjoyable entry to this series with a well drawn cast of eclectic characters, an atmospheric setting and a well formed plot laced often laced with a gentle humour,

Maisie Cooper has accidently become a sleuth. Along the way she has upset a few unpleasant people. It would seem that one of them is out for revenge.
This is the sixth book in the series. It is possible to read it as a stand alone. However, the plot revolves around the perpetrators of crimes that were solved in previous books and this made it harder to follow what was going on.
The book ticks all the boxes necessary for a successful cozy mystery and most lovers of this genre will enjoy it. Mosse is also a competent writer.
The rural policemen were more like romanticised 1940s officers. In my opinion they were not typical of the rural 1970s policemen I remember.
Although, I liked many of the peripheral characters , both the goodies and baddies, I did not warm to Maisie and Jack. They were just too good to be true. They did not seem to have any quirks, let alone faults. At one meal Maisie 'approved him (Jack) not speaking until he had swallowed'. Surely you would expect this so it would not be worthy of comment. You may register if your fiancé ate with his mouth open but not the reverse. I'm sure that many readers of cozy mysteries will be happy that the main protagonists are ideal and will consider it part of the charm. It is just not for me.
Thank you to Hodder & Stoughton and NetGalley for providing this ARC in return for an honest review.
