Wow, this book was well paced and hooked me from the very beginning, an absolute page turner!
To begin with - HUGE thank you to Netgalley and L.G. Davis for allowing me to read this early, I enjoyed it so much so that I read it in 2 days! I knew this book would be right up my alley when I came across it on Netgalley, and will definitely be checking out more of L.G. Davis's works!
My mind was constantly in knots, trying to guess at all the secrets that each character was hiding, especially the further I got through the book the more my mind mind reeled, thinking I had figured it out but then being left stumped again, probably catching flies with my mouth hanging open so much!
I do so love a book that keeps me on my toes and keeps me guessing, I LOVE the twists and turns and feeling a little left in the dark, to have it all come together so perfectly at the end.
We mostly follow the POV of Drew, who I really came to like and was rooting for throughout the book, even knowing she has her own hidden secrets, I especially connected with a quote early on -
"I feel like a character in a story that doesn't quite belong or was written in a little too late", I feel that Drew, I feel that.

"THE NEW MARRIAGE" truly delivered an engaging and thrilling experience. Domestic thrillers often captivate readers with their intricate plots and dynamic character relationships, and this book hit the mark. The fast pacing can really heighten the suspense, keeping readers on the edge of their seats, while unexpected twists and turns add layers of intrigue. A sublime ending is the perfect way to wrap up such a gripping narrative, leaving readers satisfied and perhaps even a bit stunned.

THE NEW MARRIAGE was an excellent read for me! It had a bit of everything you would expect from a domestic thriller. The pacing was fast and I really enjoyed the storyline. The twists and turns will keep your head spinning and that ending was just sublime.
Many thanks for my gifted copy.
My reviews will be shared @coffee.break.book.reviews closer to publication date.

Unfortunately this book didn’t work for me.
The storytelling lacked depth, the twists didn’t feel believable, and the big reveals were just too far-fetched. I didn’t connect with any of the characters either, and the constant boundary-crossing made it even harder to stay interested.
Thank you for the opportunity to review this ARC.

The New Marriage by L.G. Davis was such a wild ride! I was hooked right from the start and couldn’t put it down. There were so many twists I didn’t see coming, and the suspense just kept building the whole way through.
I really liked how messy and real the characters felt — nobody was perfect, and it made the story even more intense. The book does a great job showing how complicated trust and relationships can be.
The only reason it’s not a full 5 stars for me is that the ending felt a little rushed — I wanted just a bit more before it wrapped up. But overall, it was super entertaining and definitely one I’d recommend if you love a good, twisty thriller!

This book starts a bit slow however next min you know you are flying through it. Full of twist, turns and loud gasps! Couldnt put it down at all! Highly recommend.

This book really picks up towards the end and has lots of twists some you see and others you don't. I personally didn't feel like everything was wrapped up, and the epilogue felt anticlimactic and open ended. This was my first book by this author and while overall the story was average for me I would definitely give them another try.
3.25 🌟

This a dark and twisted thriller guaranteed to shock you. L. G. Davis’s books are amazing. Always unique and captivating. This one is no different. A couple twists are obvious but there are plenty to make you gasp and WTF out loud. The ending is perfect.

This book was a ride. I thought I had it figured out more than once, but L.G. Davis kept the twists coming until the very end. The second half completely had me in a chokehold—super fast-paced and full of “wait, what?!” moments.
There’s a lot of clever foreshadowing around the narrator’s past, and the way it all unravels is so satisfying. I definitely got pulled into the suspense and couldn’t stop flipping pages once things really kicked off.
Big thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC! If you’re into psychological thrillers with secrets, twists, and tension you can feel, this one’s worth picking up.

Starts off a little slow to build the complex characters and their relationships. But wow, does it hit you with so much suspense, secrets, and twists! I never would have guessed them all! Thoroughly enjoyed this author's writing style and look forward to reading more.
My only complaint in the story is I felt like Lori's involvement in spying on Drew was just ignored in the end. Lori is still with Jason, and Drew never finds out Lori's involvement.

oooh this one is a goody!
i felt like i was being gripped by this book and doing the gripping of things myself. the reading angst this book gave me was brilliant.
i love the thought of two people looking at each other thinking they know it all. or lying. or thinking they know the truth. or wanting to. of thinking they are keeping their secrets whilst the other knows they are keeping secrets. how they think they are keeping up a pretense but the other is keeping a pretense over their pretense. haha you see! brilliant.
so what does the other really know. and what has the other really done. and who is the "other" in each case im talking of.
the book was twisty and turny in all the right ways. and the surprises just kept coming. the finally one truly had me doing that involuntary "what the..." gasp you do in realllllly good reads.
i was wary of everyone and trying to settle my nerves into thinking through who i could trust and who the characters could or should.
there was a multiple Pov in this book but id say mostly focus on Drew the wife. we slowly unveil the pasts with past and present chapters.
in the book we meet Drew and Mark. how lovely that after suffering such losses they have found each other. a second chance right? but both of them come to this marriage with secrets of their own. and both think they are keeping them from each other. they look into each others eyes thinking they know what the other doesnt. or trying to keep secrets of their own pasts hidden.
but what happened to Drew in her past to mean she literally had to become someone new?
and what did happen to your ex wife Mark?
this is a book to be devoured. you will want to put it down to have a break or to prolong the beautiful suspense but you will also not want to put it down at all. and its one of those books that when you have that little chunk at the end you will go well over the time you should be sat reading just to finish it.

Who should you believe??? This book is full of lies and deception, twists and turns! While it was a little predictable to me, I enjoyed the suspense!

4*
I really enjoyed this book and couldn’t put it down, I needed to know what secret she was hiding. I did kind of guess the ending as I came close to finishing the book, but there was also a twist I wasn’t expecting.! I really did enjoy this book and I’ll definitely be recommending and reading more from this author

This book hooked me right away! The twist and turns and the development of the characters. Story was well written and the ending was top tier.

Thank you Net Gallery for the book. It was very enjoyable, very entertaining, lots of twists and turns. I loved the characters. The only bad thing I have to say about this book is that it kept me reading way past midnight, I couldn't put it down! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book was a page-turner right from the beginning. I wanted to know what had happened, what was going to happen, and how it had happened. I still don't know who is lying, who was lying, who is going to lie, or who has that damn lottery ticket. (Read it for further information in regard to the lottery ticket).
In The New Marriage, you meet Drew and Mark; both have lost loved ones in "accidents," and they claim to be in love. You have a now sober son named Jason and a crazy sister named Sarah, all of them have done something except the perfect Mark. But we all know he can't be perfect either. Lies catch up to them all, and they all face some crazy stuff. There is some Kung Fu Panda/Cobra Kai/Stephen King type of read. Secrets come out, and lives change. I still don't know who or what to believe. But I liked feeling like that.
I would love to be in the mind of L.G. Davis it is warped, she needs a psychiatrist, but heck she can write a book like no other.
Thank you to L.G. Davis, Netgalley, and Bookouture for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

This was a quick & entertaining read! I finished it the day I started, and those kind of stories are some of my favorites.
Overall, I really enjoyed the story and I really enjoyed how the prologue & epilogue even tied together! However, I felt like the characters were kind of immature for their ages (upper 30s) & the amount of twists in this short of a story kind of took away from the bigger reveal. I think if we had just a little less of the twists, then the main ones would have hit much harder for me vs just going 'Ah okay got it'.
Thank you to NetGalley & Bookouture for the advance copy of this book!

Awesome domestic thriller where both the husband and the wife are hiding secrets from each other. The characters felt so real, and I wasn’t sure who to trust! I definitely didn’t see that twist coming, either! L.G. Davis never disappoints!
Release date April 29, 2025
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc.

A fast paced domestic thriller that kept me on my feet. Told in multiple perspectives and timelines, I was fully engrossed trying to find out what was going on and who was speaking the truth.
The chill is there throughout and nothing is what it seems. The leads and supporting characters are well sketched and equally suspicious. A good and engaging thriller!
Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for this e-arc in exchange of my unbiased review.

Stunning read! Very engaging story with lots of twists and turns as all is revealed culminating in an explosive ending! L.G. Davis is quickly becoming a must-read for me.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for this ARC!
