Tammy the sand artist is a free spirit and enjoys her life in Porthmellow, Cornwall. There’s a festival coming up where she’s hoping to exhibit her art. She doesn’t much miss her gambler father who was found drowned on the beach. Ryan, her new solicitor boyfriend, has recently moved to the area, lives in a caravan and loves kitesurfing. Unknown to her, Ryan has inherited a huge house nearby. Then he finds out who owned it previously. Phillips Astley’s books are always a good holiday read and make you want to book a train to Cornwall.

If you can’t actually be on a Cornish beach this summer, then Philippa Ashley’s latest book is the next best thing.
This was a lovely read and set firmly on the beaches in Cornwall as the main character Tammy is a Sand artist. I loved the romance between her and Ruan and I enjoyed the way that their family histories were used to create the problems in their relationship. Tammy and Ruan were both really likeable protagonists and I was fascinated by the descriptions of Tammy’s art work. I have only seen 3D sand sculptures and had to go and find images of art work similar to Tammy’s to understand just what she was creating.
This was a great Summer read and thank you as always to Net Galley and the publishers, Random House UK for providing this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I really enjoyed One Cornish Summer With You! It’s such a sweet, cozy read – the kind of book that makes you want to pack up and move to a little seaside village immediately. I loved Tammy and her sand sculptures and Ruan was such a gentle, kind character. Their chemistry was adorable, even if a few misunderstandings dragged things out a bit.
The setting was gorgeous – Phillipa Ashley makes Cornwall feel like a character in itself. I could almost hear the waves and smell the sea air while reading. The only reason it’s not a full five stars is because a couple of chapters felt a bit slow, but honestly, it didn’t ruin the experience.
This is the perfect summer/holiday read!
I give this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Thank you to Netgalley and Penguin Random House UK for the ARC.

This book would make the perfect holiday read for anyone heading down to Cornwall, the descriptions of the beaches and sea are beautiful. The book also addresses the issues of tourism, including difficulties locals have in finding affordable housing. I didn’t really take to Tammy, she seemed to hold onto the past too much for me, though I did enjoy finding out about her work as a beach artist.

A great holiday beach read (though I actually read it whilst amongst the hills on an island off the west coast of Scotland!). Great romcom set in another fab part of the world, Cornwall. Loved the characters and the storyline - it’s one of those books you always feel is going to come right in the end and thankfully it did! Don’t think I could have stood an unhappy ending for Tammy & Ruan! Highly recommended for great big happy vibes (with a few bumps along the way!).
Thank you to Net Galley and the publishers for allowing me to read this in exchange for an honest review, which is what I have given.

Thank you for the advanced copy of this book. Lovely and heartwarming. Tammy grew up in Cornish village Portmellow. Her father was forced to sell their family home after falling into debt and her mother left home.
Present day Tammy is a sand artist -really great feature of the book - and tries to protect herself from any heartache. One day she meets incomer Ruan - could he be the one to melt her defences? But Ruan has a secret which could unravel all Tammy knows. A great book. Lovely story .

This is a perfect summer read. It’s a love story with a mystery element and it’s also a tale of a close community. Of friendships and people looking out for each other. The setting was perfect. Porthmellow, a small coastal town, full of interesting characters, some likeable, others not so much. I was rooting for Tammy and Ruan all the way, hoping they got their happy ending.
Recommended.
I would like to thank Penguin UK, the author and Netgalley for an ARC of One Cornish Summer with You in exchange for an honest review.

This gorgeous story made me want to leap in the car and head instantly to Cornwall. Fabulous scenery, and lovely characters, I was with Phillipa Ashley every step of the way as I delved into the book.
Tammy is a sand artist who is content in her Cornish village, when she meets Ruan, a dishy solicitor who has just moved to the area, Their connection is instant but as the story progresses it emerges that Ruan has a secret which may mean they can't be together.
I just loved the whole book and raced through this one- it's likely to be a brilliant hit for summer and one to read by the pool.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

3.5⭐️
One Cornish Summer With You is a classic summer romance that honestly feels like a warm summers day at the beach! Aka the perfect beach read!
I’m always won over by anything set in Cornwall and I particularly loved how, despite the main town being fictional, it really slotted in with the other places mentioned and I loved being able to place it location wise! (Geography in books is very important to me)
I really liked the cast of characters. Tammy was so interesting with her unique career as a sand artist. Ruan was very thoughtful however a pet peeve of mine is when the mmc is described as a ‘nerd’ but isn’t actually a nerd at all… having a corporate job that means you wear a suit to work does not make you a nerd. Either way the romance was very sweet and I enjoyed how well the romantic plot was balanced with the other elements of the story.
Although the overall plot was quite predictable, there were so many additional details and I personally pick up books like this for how easy they are to follow and consume.

Another hit for Ashley, with a gentle and easy to read story about Tammy, a sand artist, who lives in the lovely little Cornish town of Porthmellow.
Tammy is marking the anniversary of her dad’s death with a memorial sand-art sunburst when she sees a handsome, suited, stranger watching her. They strike up a conversation and a relationship begins.
But Tammy has had a difficult past and is wary of giving her heart away too easily and Ruan has secrets of his own…
A cast of lovely characters, a beautiful setting and some interesting stories within the story make for an enjoyable read. Not taxing but definitely with more bite than some - set aside a few hours and enjoy!

All you need is a Phillipa Ashley book to allow you to escape into the sunshine for a truly beachy romance. Perfect summer reading. I loved the dynamics between our two protagonists Tammy and Ruan., you know from the beginning that they are going to end up together but the fun part is how they get there.
Phillipa always conjures up the feel of summer in Cornwall, her descriptions are spot on and she brings just the right amount of conflict and emotions into her books.
A fantastic summer read.

The perfect holiday book!
There’s something quite comforting about a book set in Cornwall, with romance, sea and sand.
Tammy, a sand sculptor meets Ruan and instantly there’s an attraction, however their pasts are linked in ways they could never imagine.
Will Tammy ever learn to trust and will Ruan finally get what his heart desires?

Thank you for the early read. I enjoyed my virtual visit to Cornwall. Loved the beach art storyline. A thoughtful but ultimately uplifting read as the characters needed to move forward and not let the past spoil their future happiness.

I read most of this whilst on holiday at the seaside which made it a perfect summer escapist book. Although the resort I was in wasn't Cornwall I could imagine the sights, sounds and smells of that coastline. It was an easy read with believable characters and I loved the sand sculpture aspect. My thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a pre release copy in exchange for my honest review.

Another great book from Phillipa Ashley. Set in Cornwall the storyline follows Tammy and Ruan Tammy is a local sand artist and Ruan a solicitor. As their lives collide can the problems of the past be resolved or will it tear them apart. A must read book that’s a great summer read. Easy chapters and easy characters. Thanks to Phillipa and her publisher. Thanks also to NetGalley

This is a welcome return to the fictitious Cornish town of Porthmellow, although the previous books are required reading to enjoy this latest adventure.
Tammy has found it hard to trust after her Mum left to be with another man and another life, and her Dad lost their home and then died at sea in unexplained circumstances.
Ruan discovers that his Great Uncle has left him a near derelict house in his will, should he change his life course and move to Cornwall?
After learning more about the house and his Great Uncle, Ruan struggles to accept the generous windfall, especially after meeting the attractive Tammy.
With the beautiful Cornish scenery as a backdrop, this is a must summer read.

Moving from Bristol to the Cornish coast Ruan meets Tammy.
On the surface opposite as possible but drawn to each other.
An inherited property opens old wounds. A jealous ex stirs the pot and sows the seeds of distrust.
Can they overcome the obstacles and the past to move forward together.
A gentle and heart warming story that will make you keep your fingers crossed for Tammy and Ruan.

An okay read, but nothing stand out about it. I really liked Ruan, but did not find Tammy endearing. She was selfish and immature. Everything revolved around her. She did grow a little as a character towards the end. I liked the ending. With thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Another good read from the author. One to read while on holiday so you're not wishing you were on the beach as the characters are. Engaging and made you care about them all and wanted everyone to be ok.

A beautiful story of loss, love, learning to trust and letting go off the past. Mix that with loveable characters and gorgeous Cornwall scenery, and you can't fail to have a hit!!
When Ruan and Tammy meet by chance, there is an instant attraction. As their romance grows, events from both of their pasts threatens their future. Can they move on and let the past go, along with solving the mystery of why Walter Cavendish behaved the way he did?
A heartwarming and emotional read, I struggled to put it down.
