A lovely summer read, I almost wish I'd kept if for the beach!

A lovely summer read. There’s a fantastic cast of characters and the book wasn’t too cheesy. There were some interesting diversions from the standard romance plot.
I especially loved Polly and Lucifer!

Tammy lives in the Cornish harbour town of Porthmellow. She had a troubled childhood with her mum abandoning her and her father becoming bankrupt and had to sell their family home.
Tammy now loves creating works of art in the sand and doesn’t want any more heartache.
She meets Ruan, a solicitor who has moved down from Bristol for a better life. Ruan has a secret that he keeps from Tammy. Will Ruan be the one that she finally trusts or will it all be to much for her?

One Cornish summer with you is an easy summery read, set in a beautiful seaside town, packed with Secrets, Romance, Mystery and friendship.
From the moment I started reading I was transported into the Cornish harbour town, you felt like you were there, in this magical place amongst the characters.
I fell in love with the characters and with plenty of twists and turns it kept me guessing, I struggled to put the book down, kept turning the pages because I needed to find out what happened and felt myself hoping that everything would turn out ok.
The characters felt like real true to life people, you felt apart of their story and I smiled at the nicknames that Davey gave people, added a tad bit of comedy to an already compelling read.
It was such a wonderfully written story that covered some sensitive subjects sympathetically. Makes you want to visit the Cornish coast and soak in the scenery and makes you look at things with a fresh perspective.
Thank you Netgalley, Random House UK and Phillipa Ashley, for the opportunity to take a trip to Porthmellow, it is a fantastic book that I would definitely recommend.

Another great summer read from Phillipa Ashley which kept me hooked from start to finish. Clear your agenda get comfy as you’ll struggle to put this book down until it’s finished.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in return for an honest review. It was an absolute delight.

A lovely setting but just an okay read. Tammy didn’t really ring true for me. And I was surprised that the book ended on 91%. The last 8% was from a book that had no introduction or explanation. I didn’t read that.

A lovely summer read which will be perfect for holidays. Set in beautiful Cornwall the story follows Cornish sand artist Tammy and a new arrival to Cornwall, solicitor Ruan- beset by hurdles and circumstances will they ever find their happy ever after? A predictable theme but nicely done and not overtly cheesy. I particularly liked Ruan’s character and also Davey & Polly. The horseback rescue scene was highly entertaining! I would have been disappointed if the ending hadn’t been as predicted and throughly enjoyed the read.

The perfect summer read consists of picking this book up, getting comfy, and do not move till you have finished. You really don't need anything else.

The most beautiful summer read! I absolutely adored this book! The characters and location are just stunning. A really easy to read book!

This was exactly as I predicted! A lovely easy heart warming read. I loved the characters and the setting, far fetched in places but romantic and endearing! A lovely read with a happy ending!

This is the perfect summer read though full disclosure I’ve never read a book by Phillipa Ashley that I didn’t love!
Her characters and settings are always on point. I’ve never visited Cornwall but feel like I already know the place. A top summer read.

A lovely story of secrets, love and Cornwall. Unfortunately, I just couldn’t endear myself to the two main characters, and therefore it was a slow read for me.

Not just a romance this time, the story is interspersed with hints of secrets for both main characters. Set in the gorgeous Cornish landscape, will Tammy find out the real reason Ruan is seeking a fresh start? Can she reconcile her past with a shared future? Loved it.

Tammy is a sand artist in the Cornish seaside town of Porthmellow. Still reeling from the unexpected death of her father in a boating accident, she finds letting people into her life difficult.
While doing a piece of sand art to commemorate her father she meets solicitor Ruan, sitting on the wall in a suit eating an ice cream watching her with fascination. Ruan is in the area for his new job but has also inherited a near by house which unknown to him has its own stories to tell.
I enjoyed this book and it’s not your usual fluffy romance. There are some heart wrenching and also heartwarming parts. Tammy was a hard character to like and I found her annoying in parts. Ruan was my favourite character.
This is a great summery holiday read.
With thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the arc in exchange for an honest review.

Another visit to Cornwall, Tammie lives in a flat above a shop in Porthmellow which is run by her late fathers friend. Tammie is a sand artist. It is while she is working on the sand that she meets Ruan a solicitor. He lives in a caravan in the grounds of a big house that he has been left.
This is another brilliant read which I can fully recommend

This, without a doubt, is the perfect summer read.
Set in Porthmellow in Cornwall, Tammy is an artist who creates sand designs on the beach. Her father died at sea after becoming bankrupt, and her mother moved away to Scotland. Tammy is determined not to let anyone get close.
Ruan is a solicitor and has recently moved to Cornwall after some good fortune. Will Ruan be the one to break down Tammy's barriers?
Of course, there is always the jealous ex to try and put a spanner in the works, but will he succeed?
I loved everything about this (maybe not the caravan). The setting of Cornwall, long hot sunny days, stunning scenery, and of course, romance. The perfect ingredients for another terrific read by Phillipa. A definite winner.
Thanks to Random House Uk for the invitation to read this in return for an honest review.

Tammy lives in a rented flat above Davey's art gallery in Porthmellow. She helps out in the gallery and creates sand art on local beaches. She doesn't have much money but has a wonderful group of friends. Ruan is a high-flying solicitor who has recently moved from Bristol to Penzance so that he can renovate the dilapidated property inherited from his great uncle Walter.
This book is the story of their relationship over a few months one summer, with ups and downs, and secrets being unearthed. Lovely locations, great characters and an interesting enough plot to keep those pages turning. Another hit from Phillipa Ashley.
Thanks to Net Galley and the publishers for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Tammy is happy with her life in the beautiful Cornish town Porthmellow. As a sand artist, Tammy sometimes gets to share in people’s happiest moments, creating designs for proposals and declarations of love. But, after being hurt numerous times, Tammy doubts she will ever have her happy ever after.
Then she meets Ruan. Ruan is in Porthmellow after inheriting a derelict property from a great uncle he only met once. Ruan is hoping to put down roots and in Porthmellow and, after meeting Tammy, is sure he could be happy there.
Although there is an instant attraction they are both holding something back. Can they break free from the past and move forward together or is there too much in the way for them to be happy.
This book will warm you up like a sunny day on the beach, with characters you will root for, a beautiful setting and a great storyline. Perfect summer read.

Talented sand artist, Tammy loves Cornwall where she grew up .. Abandonment by her mother leaves her finding it hard to trust people until she meets Ruan. Will he be the person to bring her happiness? Another great read from Philippa Ashley, ideal holiday reading.

Phillipa Ashley is a must read author for me send this book doesn’t disappoint. The story of an unlikely duo of a native Cornish sand artist and a newly arrived solicitor and their growing relationship but also reflects the current issues facing many tourist destinations regarding housing and employment. Two excellent lead characters and a believable supporting cast give a real feel good summer romance. Highly recommended.
