One Cornish Summer with You is an atmospheric and engaging story, perfect for a light summer read. The Cornish setting was beautifully described and added a lovely charm to the overall vibe. I particularly enjoyed the artistic elements woven into the plot, they added a unique and creative touch.
However, I struggled to connect with the main character, Tammy. Despite being an adult, some of her actions felt immature and at times even childish. The drama she stirred up often felt overly exaggerated, which made it hard to fully sympathize with her journey.
Overall, while not without its flaws, this is a charming read for fans of beachy romances and art-infused storytelling. This was my first Phillipa Ashley book, and I will be picking up more of her novels if I'm looking for a light summer read as I really enjoyed the setting of the book (more than the plot at times).

I loved this book. The setting was beautiful and there was such a summery feel to it. I found Tammy a little irritating as a character at times, it seemed as though she didn’t take into account others feelings at times and was quite self absorbed but she had been through a lot of hurt in the past I guess. I was thoroughly invested in her and Ruans story and loved the epilogue. Overall a brilliant, Summery read.

Tammy is a sand artist who notices a stranger watching her work, she approaches and meets Ruan who is a solicitor has recently moved to Cornwall, The book has a few layers and for me got going in the last third… mystery, families and romance, what’s not to love!

Who knew sand art was a thing? Informative as well as a lovely, well written story with heart warming romance as well. Set in beautiful Cornwall this story has everything you need for a great holiday read.

Just glorious, what starts as a girl meets boy turns into a story so rich with emotion. Philippa Ashley takes you to the brink and back again, such beautiful descriptions and heart rending content, bravo!

A great holiday read that will really make you want to visit the beautiful little villages and secluded coves of Cornwall. The gentle romance of Tammy and the descriptions of her sand art all make for a delightful read.

One Cornish Summer with you is a wonderful uplifting read full of long buried secrets, romance, colourful characters and a beautiful setting in Cornwall.
The descriptions of the scenery, sights, sounds and smells transport you off to Cornwall making this book a fabulous spring and summer read (although it would also be a nice read during the cooler months to help warm you up and take you to sunnier climes). So if you’re off on holiday over the next few months, or staying at home and want a summery, easy, not very heavy going book, One Cornish Summer with you is one book to grab.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book through NetGalley and Penguin Random House UK, Cornerstone, which did not influence my unbiased and honest review of the book.

I love Cornwall, I love a love story, what more could you ask for in one book? I really enjoyed the twists and turns of this book, and also really enjoyed reading about one of my favourite places in the world!
Definitely give this book a read, it’s one for the beach with a cocktail in hand!

Tammy is a sand artist and works part time in a gallery in Porthmellow. It’s the anniversary of her father’s death and she’s drawing a sand sculpture of a sunrise in his memory. A handsome man in a suit, Ruan, is watching Tammy at work. They end up in conversation and Tammy discovers that Ruan has recently moved to Cornwall and works as a solicitor.
Tammy has had a hard life, her mother left when she was young, moving to Scotland, her husband was a gambler, eventually losing the family home. Tammy chose to stay in Cornwall with her dad.
Ruan doesn’t want to admit he’s had a house left to him by an Uncle he had only met twice when he was a young boy. When Ruan visits his late uncle’s care home he’s given a box of his possessions. After going through them to find clues about Walter’s life and links between Tammy’s family.

Tammy lives in the idyllic seaside town of Portmellow (lovely name). She earns her living by creating sand art in the form of "Proposals" "Birthday Greetings" "Artworks" and any commissions that she can get. She lives in a top floor flat above her late dad's best friends ceramic studio, and he is a father figure to her.
She meets Ruan, a local solicitor who has moved to the coastal town from the city of Bristol, to join a local law firm and be near his inheritance from a distant relative; he's been left a wreck of a house in need of tons of TLC and hard work!
The attraction between them is instant and Ruan feels he made the right decision to move there, he's falling in love with Tammy! But Tammy finds it hard to accept this, after all she was badly let down in the past by her boyfriend Sean. Can she learn to trust again and have a future with Ruan??
Secrets are revealed which out her happiness in doubt; can she find a way through this and find true happiness in the future - read and see!
This is a lovely feel good book, you are on the side of both Ruan and Tammy; another triumph for Phillipa Ashley.

Philips Ashley never disappoints. I enjoy her beautiful stories so much. My heart broke for Tammy and all she went through with her family. It was so nice to see her open up and find connection with Ruan. They had beautiful chemistry and I really enjoyed this novel. I am anxiously awaiting her next release. It is a feel good romance novel that has elements of sadness , redemption, romance, and a ton of heart.

I read this on holiday, and it was an average read, but nothing special. The descriptions of Cornwall and its beaches were very evocative, and did make me want to visit that area to see it for myself. It sounds stunning.
The romance was engaging enough, though I found Tammy to be a bit of a selfish character, I found her hard to relate to, to be honest. It was an easy holiday read.
My thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for my advance copy of this book.

One Cornish Summer With,You by Phillipa Ashley
A great holiday read , especially if you're off to Cornwell.
The main character is Tammy , bereaved after the loss of her father , she is estranged from her mother who lives far away.
Tammy is a sand artist entertaining the holidaymakers when she meets Ruan who has moved down from Bristol .
Is Ryan going to be good for her and will the romance last ? How will she get on taking part in Oceanfest , a festival held in the area , and are her friends all going to be there for her at this time ?

As ever another great book by Phillipa Ashley. Her descriptions of places are so vivid you feel as though you are there. The characters are likeable and I enjoyed reading the story unfold. No major surprises and did exactly what you expect from a summer romance. I would recommend this book as an easy escapism read, perfect way to relax for a few hours.

An enjoyable summer read to escape to Cornwall with. Loved the choice of sand artist for the main character and great backstory that linked the characters. Would recommend.
**Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and author for the opportunity to read an advanced e-copy of this book. All opinions are my own **

The book was promising and I started off enjoying it, however I found the story rather naive and unbelievable with very obvious “twists”.
The descriptions of Cornwall were wonderful and it did make me feel like returning to those lovely beaches!

Having read many of this authors books I knew exactly what I was letting myself in for.
Tammy is a sand artist and meets Ruan, a solicitor overlooking the bay in Cornwall. It is a love story and they fall for each other almost instantly. However, fate has other things in mind and they are soon embroiled in secrets and lies, some ancient and some brand new. There is the “will they won’t they” element to the story that we all know and love.
This author creates characters who you can identify with and a few unsavoury ones as well as this is not a fairytale. She is incredible with her descriptions and you can almost hear the waves lapping and the seagulls cawing in the wind.
A perfect summer read

A wonderful trip to Cornwall and another warm hearted tale from Phillipa Ashley. All the perfect ingredients for an escapist holiday read, leaving you feeling good!
Tammy is a sand artist based in a seaside village in Cornwall, she has her friends but her father has recently died and her mum is estranged in Scotland so she is feeling a little lost and cut off. After completing a tribute to her dad on the local beach with sand artist she meets Ruan who has moved down from Bristol. Can she take a chance with Ruan and make her future? Will the local festival Oceanfest embrace her art?
Loved this latest book based in Cornwall and the local music festival that is known as Glastonbury-on-sea. As always great characters, easy to read and get swept along with writing and feel good tale with quite a few twists and turns not always expected!
Hugely enjoyed and recommend for this summer!
Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin books for the early read.
Loved it!

Set in beautiful Cornwall, this is a carefully woven story that pulls at your heartstrings. It combines a quest, secrets, and romance. I couldn't put my book down.
