Beyond Her Reach by Melinda Leigh is another gripping addition to the Bree Taggert series. From the very first chapter, the suspense pulled me in and didn’t let go. Sheriff Bree finds herself in the middle of a brutal murder investigation, and the twists just keep coming. Every time I thought I had it figured out, a new layer was revealed, which kept me on edge the whole way through.
I really enjoyed how Bree and Matt worked together, they make such a strong team, both personally and professionally. Their partnership adds so much depth to the story. The pacing is fast, the danger feels real, and the stakes are higher than ever. This series continues to grow stronger with each book, and this one might be my favorite so far.
If you love crime thrillers with suspense, action, and strong characters, this is a must read!
Very grateful to the publisher for my copy through NetGalley, opinions are my own

Here we are on Book 10 of the Series, and yet, the books continue to get better. All the main characters are familiar and feel like old friends. The action is non-stop, and the mystery well disguised. This story really felt like the end was in sight for Bree and crew. I look forward to seeing how this all wraps up.
I received an ARC for free and gave my honest opinion voluntarily.

This was another great addition to the Bree Taggert series. Melinda Leigh is an author I can always count on to deliver twist and turns that her strong, fierce female sheriff will figure out and bring justice to the right people. In this installment there was also more healing from Bree’s past and increased depth to her relationship with Matt, which I loved to see on all accounts.
I never want to say too much about the case that Bree is working in any given book for fearing of inadvertently spoiling things. I will say, this one had a lot of players involved who were all viable suspects, and it kept me on the edge trying to follow the breadcrumbs to figure out who was innocent and who wasn’t. No one was squeaky clean, I can confidently say that much. I still had some questions at the end about one person and their involvement. I felt like there were a couple loose ends with the overall reveal that I would love to see tied up.
I love the family and community that Bree has built with her own family, Matt and his family, her staff, and the animals in the menagerie. The ties that bind are strong and heartwarming. Every time I get near the end of one of these books, I’m always bracing myself for the series to be wrapped up because I will miss it when it ends. It looks like there is at least one more book coming for Bree Taggert, and I can’t wait to read it.
Thank you to Montlake via NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was another great installment in the Bree Taggert series.
When a series of women are brutally murdered in Bree's jurisdiction, she and Matt, her investigator and live-in boyfriend, set out to solve the crimes. The author has skillfully woven in a few good suspects, so the reader doesn't have a clue until the very end. There's a lot of action, focus on teamwork of the Sheriff's Department and the ongoing political battle between Bree and the Mayor. Both Bree and Matt also find themselves in an awkward balance with their families and a hard work schedule.
It was interesting to find another female main character from another Melinda Leigh series, I won't say who it was and spoil the surprise. This book moved along super fast, held my attention and was well-written. As always, I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

Thank you Netgalley and Montlake for the chance to read Beyond her reach (Bree Taggert #10) by Melinda Leigh. I have enjoyed this series since the first book, and I think Beyond her reach is the best one yet! Not only was the suspense revved up, and not knowing who was the killer, I feel this has become a fantastic K-9 police procedural. The K-9 team of Laurie Collins and Greta have been featured in the last couple of books, but a new dog became a instant favorite of mine; Turbo! Like his name, this is a fantastic super-charged dog, who excels as an escape artist! I can't wait to read more about Turbo in the next book!

5/5 stars: This is the tenth entry in Leigh's Bree Taggert series which is a Police Procedural Mystery Thriller set in upstate New York and features a sheriff and her investigator boyfriend who's newest case, a single mother's brutal killing, quickly expands after a second victim's murdered in the same fashion. After the sheriff's attacked and a third woman's kidnapped, the two investigator's will have to work fast to catch the killer before someone else dies. With plenty of twists and turns, Leigh writes a gripping fast-paced investigative tale that will leave you on the edge of your seat until the final reveal. I really like how Leigh's plot unfolds and the deft way everything weaves together so effortlessly. Written in multiple POV, Leigh's writing and character work are stellar; the characters are well-rounded and complex while remaining incredibly likable. Bree's an awesome character and It's great catching up with her colleagues, friends and family in Grey's Hollow. I also really enjoy how her relationship with Matt continues to grow and seeing him become a part of the family. Additionally, I love how Leigh's created a “universe” with her various book series, this novel features lawyer Morgan Dane of the Morgan Dane series which starts with Say You’re Sorry. Leigh touches on some very heavy topics; so take care and check the CWs. While you could read this as a stand-alone, you'll gain so much more by reading the series from the beginning; so be sure to pick up book one, Cross Her Heart. Leigh's a favorite author and I can't recommend this series enough!
I received this eARC thanks to Montlake in exchange for an honest review. Publishing dates are subject to change.

Another great addition to the Sheriff Bree Taggert Series.
A recently separated mother is found murdered in her own home, with her estranged husband and new partner both in the frame, Bree is hoping she can find the killer quickly.
Then another woman is killed the same way. Panic is rising among the women in the town. Can Bree and her team solve this case before anyone else is killed.
A really good read that kept me reading. Great characters and storylines.

Never a dull moment with a Bree Taggert murder case. She and Matt, part time investigator and K-9 trainer/boyfriend, are on the case of another grisly murder. They go down a rabbit hole investigating suspects, alibis and dating apps. A new dog Matt’s sister Cady is attempting to work with has melted Bree’s heart a bit more about her feelings for canines. Over the course of ten books Bree has evolved as a homicide detective in the big city to small town sheriff/provider/life partner and horse owner. Her niece and nephew have grown significantly more confident and brave under her care. Her relationship with Matt has become very real and important. When I read her books I’m not just puzzling a murder case but following Bree’s life. I’ve gotten to know the characters and hope the series continues for many more. I’ve given my review voluntarily after reading an early copy.

I like this book good storyline

In the wake of a woman’s savage murder, the suspects and motives are only mounting for Sheriff Bree Taggert in a twisting novel of suspense by #1 Wall Street Journal bestselling author Melinda Leigh.
In a quiet suburban neighborhood in upstate New York, single mom Kelly Gibson is slain in her home—the victim of a rage killing. Right away, Sheriff Bree Taggert has three persons of interest: an angry soon-to-be ex-husband, a furtive rebound boyfriend, and an obsessive neighbor.
But as Bree and investigator Matt Flynn work together to narrow the field, there’s a shocking twist in the case: a second woman is murdered in the same brutal fashion.
While investigating, Bree is attacked and left for dead. When another woman is kidnapped, Bree and Matt must act quickly to unravel the deceptions in Kelly’s life and death and find a killer before someone else dies.

Not your average police procedural! A great mix of mystery, found/blended family and a soupcon of romance. Bree and Matt are one again in the thick of a mystery. Was their victim killed by her estranged husband? Her recent ex-boyfriend? Or a stranger? Neither answer is appealing but the team are doggedly pursuing all leads. When another murder occurs with strong ties to the first, Bree and the team are determined to bring down the perpetrator.
Bree is everything you want in a MC - she's empathetic, kind, blunt, honest, and loyal. Her little blended family continues to thrive even in adverse conditions and I love the way Dana has become even more part of the family. The added storyline of Cady's progressing pregnancy and the continuing interference of her local political shark all add to the tension.
Once again the stunning well depicted K9's -Brody, Greta and Turbo, and even the family pets - Ladybug and Vader, round out the family and make it all the more believable. I can't deny there was a tear in my at the end of the book, such a great way to end a book with not one but two happy occasions!
This is one of my all time favourite thriller series and as much as I'd love to have Bree and co for neighbours, the homicide rate in this small area is crazy high, lol.

"Beyond Her Reach" by Melinda Leigh is the tenth book in the Bree Taggert series. I didn't read any of the previous books in the series, and I didn't feel like I missed a lot. Over the course of the nine books, readers have likely witnessed Bree’s character development, so some of her choices might be easier to understand for those who have read more of her story. Overall, it's a really good book. The writing style is amazing—fast-paced and intriguing—so I definitely enjoyed it.
I'm slightly unsure about how I feel about the ending, but considering that I generally don't like series or detective novels, I was surprisingly engrossed in this book! I will definitely pick up more books by this author.
The story focuses on the murder of a single mom, Kelly Gibson. Sheriff Bree Taggert and investigator Matt Flynn are tasked with solving the case, which has several suspects.
Bree is a smart, confident, and determined leader with a strong sense of ethics. It’s nice to witness her character development and her evolving relationships with her team, family, and significant other, Matt Flynn. The dynamic between Bree and Matt, as a great investigative team, is a key component of the book. I also found it interesting how the K-9 unit was included, adding another layer to the investigation.

This is such a good series and I love that Melinda ties in characters from her other series as well. It was so good to get to see more of Morgan Dane.
Bree is a badass and has such a lovable family. Her & Matt make such a great team. Melinda always has that perfect balance of showing us Bree's work and her personal life. She's come on so much since that heartbreaking first case.
The case is full of twists and turns to keep you locked in all the way to the explosive ending. It would be nice to have a case where Bree doesn't end up a target though.
As always my favourite characters are the dogs. Greta is so damn cool.
If you love a detective led crime thriller with fantastic side characters and gritty cases then definitely check out this series

Another solid procedural featuring Sheriff Bree Taggart, her part time investigator (and full time romantic partner) Matt Flynn, and the loyal Turbo. This can easily be read as a standalone. The outlines of the plot- a villain who kills women and who will go after Bree when she gets close- might be familiar but it's the personal details that make this unique. Thanks to netgalley for the ARC. A well written page turner.

I love this series so much! I could read 100 of these and never get bored.
Melinda is such a genius when it comes to crafting her murder mysteries. I figure the killer about half the time and I was so close this time.
Bree and Matt make me so incredibly happy. I love how they are true partners to each other in both their personal and professional lives. Their friends and family also bring me so much joy and I love how their family keeps growing as friends start dating their family members.
It was so nice to see so much of Morgan and Lance. I loved that Morgan even got some POV chapters. I’ve missed them and am glad they are doing well.
I loved the audiobook. Christina Traister always does such a wonderful job narrating.
I don’t know what I’m going to do until January 2027. The wait for the next book might kill me but the good news is I can always do a reread.
Thank you to Melinda and Montlake for this ARC

The worst part about catching up in a series you're loving, is getting caught up and waiting for Beyond Her Reach was not fun... But so dang worth it. This may be my favorite Bree book to date with an intriguing mystery and a twist that left me slack jawed. It had me hooked from the very start.
I really enjoyed getting more Morgan and Lance, especially her POV. I hope we get to continue to see more of them because they add such a fun element to the story, especially when she's the suspect's lawyer.
Matt + Bree = 4 Eva <3
The audio was great as always. Christina Traiser does such a wonderful job with these characters and I really enjoyed this listen. Thank you so much to Brilliance Audio and Montlake for my advanced copies!

There are stories with twists, and then there are stories with characters who are twisted. This book delivers both. Melinda Leigh once again pulls readers deep into Sheriff Bree Taggert’s world with a case that’s equal parts chilling and addictive. What begins with a brutal murder soon spirals into a tangled web of suspects, secrets, and shocking betrayals. I loved the way this author layered the suspense, keeping the tension sharp with every revelation. Just when I thought I knew where it was going, the story veered, proving that the most dangerous twists aren’t always in the plot, they’re in the people. A fast, gripping read that left me satisfied and already eager for the next installment.

Love the Bree Taggert series each book seems to get better and better. The writing is superb as is the characterisation. There were thrills aplenty.and I didn’t guess the culprit which is a big plus. The pace of the book was just right to keep me reading on and on. Look forward to their next escapade.

Loved this. I need to read more of the series. Will recommend to others

I’m giving this a 5 star rating because my review is no fault on the author. I didn’t realize this was book 10 in a series. When I requested, there was no indication that this was part of a series. And since I’m not one who will read a series out of order, I cannot give a review of this.

Leigh's Bree Taggert series is always a top notch read! A gruesome local murder brings Bree and her investigative team to center stage once again as they race against time to figure out who is behind the subterfuge in time to stop additional killings. The case is laid out with lots of twists and turns that bring excitement to the happenings of the team. I love the family and human aspect that is always shown along with the working side of things when Bree and Matt are together. I was a tad surprised that we didn't get to see a reaction from one person in the middle of the case to wrap it all up into a neat bow at the end, but it didn't disrupt my enjoyment of the book at all. I highly recommend this book as well as the entire series to anyone who enjoys a top notch female cop who brings heart and integrity to life during every case she works on.
