I am never disappointed with a Bree Taggert story. Beyond Her Reach by Melinda Leigh is a gripping and masterfully crafted thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. The author's writing is sharp and engaging, which immerses me in the familiar and quiet suburban neighborhood where darkness lurks beneath the surface.
The opening scene sets a chilling tone with the brutal murder of Kelly Gibson, and I couldn't help but feel the rush of adrenaline as Sheriff Bree Taggert and investigator Matt Flynn dive deep into unraveling the mystery. What I truly appreciate about this novel (and others in the series) is its well-developed characters. Bree Taggert is a strong and relatable protagonist, facing both personal and professional challenges with resilience. The supporting characters are equally intriguing, as I really like to read about her niece and nephew; they are fun and engaging characters.
The plot twists are jaw-dropping; just when you think you have it all figured out, the author throws in a shocking revelation that leaves you breathless. The pace of the story is page-turning, and the stakes couldn't be higher as Bree and Matt race against time to prevent another tragedy. The intertwining stories of the victims unfold well, illustrating the intricate web of lies and assumptions that can exist in seemingly ordinary lives.
The story balances suspense and emotion, making Beyond Her Reach a thrilling page-turner.
This book is a must-read for fans of the genre, and it's impossible not to get emotionally invested in the outcome. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a captivating mystery that leaves you wanting more!

I love these characters. And I love this series. Ive been a fan of Bree Taggery since book one and I love opening a new one to see what mystery Bree and Matt need to solve next. Another great onea!

This was another great visit with Bree. I love how she brings other characters in like Morgan, it’s a perfect way to see how they are doing too. I hope there will be more in this series.

“Beyond her Reach”, by Melinda Leigh, is a moving thriller showing sheriff Bree Taggert and her devoted, hard-working team in action while her extended family seems to be settled into some kind of peaceful, contented life.
I was held in suspense about the villain until the end. I liked how the author developed the initial principal suspect’s characterization and even thought he would be a great member of the extended Bree/Matt’s team.
As usual, Bree and Matt are a united front at work and at home and it’s wonderful to see how seamlessly they deal with these two worlds and its changes and dynamics.
Their families, colleagues and friends bring additional interest to the story. I loved how Morgan Dane and Lance, from another Leigh’s series, played a part in the investigation, too.
I love these characters, their personalites and relationships: the love, easy affection, kindness, compassion.
I felt Bree and her family found some kind of closure after the tragedy and that was comforting.

I love Melinda Leigh's books, they are easy to read with plots and characters that drag you into the story from the first page. This was a really interesting story with great characters and a great plot with plenty of twists and turns. I like the ongoing back story with the characters that are in previous books, can't wait for the next book

I've just finished reading "Beyond Her Reach" by Melinda Leigh. What a ride! This twisting, suspenseful thriller had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. I literally could not put it down! The plot twists left me frustrated yet craving more, and the ending? Completely shocking! I am really enjoyable and had an exciting read. I'm sure it would keep you on your toes. This book is an absolute must-read. I can't recommend it enough. You definitely don’t want to miss out on this one!

Loved this book! Great twists all while keeping us engaged in the characters personally. As always, it kept me guessing until the end. I have read all books in this series and hope that this is not the last we hear of Bree Taggert and family.

An excellent read for any and all readers! Author comes at you with both barrels and knocks you out of your shoes! Great job fleshing out all the characters. I give this book FIVE stars! Definitely recommend!

Love Melinda Leigh's books. They grab you right from the start. Once I begin reading I don't want to put it down. Haven't read a book of hers yet that disappointed. Highly recommend any of her books if you love a good mystery/thriller.

Another Thrilling Masterpiece in the Bree Taggert Series!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Melinda Leigh has done it again! Beyond Her Reach is an absolutely gripping, edge-of-your-seat thriller that proves this series only gets better with each installment. From the first chilling murder to the shocking twists that follow, Sheriff Bree Taggert is put through her most intense investigation yet—one that is as personal as it is dangerous.
The pacing is relentless, the suspense is masterfully woven, and the character development continues to shine. Bree and Matt’s partnership, both professionally and personally, adds emotional depth to the high-stakes action. Just when you think you’ve figured it out, Leigh throws in another twist that leaves you breathless.
I love seeing the growth in Bree as she comes into her own, fights her demons and loves as fiercely as she fights for justice. I think she is my all time favourite protagonist 😍
The worst part about finishing Beyond Her Reach? Knowing we have to wait another year for the next book! Fans of Kendra Elliot, Allison Brennan, and Karen Rose will devour this latest installment. If you love heart-pounding thrillers with strong female leads and perfectly executed suspense, this book—and this series—is a must-read!
Thanks to Ms Leigh, Montlake & Netgalley for this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Beyond Her Reach is the latest in the Bree Taggart mysteries, and it's another welcome addition to the series. The mystery had me on the edge of my seat and guessing up until the reveal. I can't wait to read what's next for all of the characters.

This is the third book I have read in the Bree Taggart series through Netgalley and I've enjoyed each one even more than the last.
It's been like catching up on a favourite tv series, seeing the lives of the characters grow and change. Friendships and relationship blossoming, whilst issues arising. All whilst the huge horror plot twist unfolds throughout like a tornado.
The plot is so thoroughly thought out and smooth to read, I always fly through the Bree Taggart books because they're the type you don't want to put down. If this was a TV series, I'd happily watch 20 seasons of it!!
As usual the plot tricks me every time, twists and turns that I never saw coming!

Thank you NetGalley and Montlake for the eARC.
No. 10 in the Bree Taggart series is a book I had a hard time putting down ... the headache got me in the end!
It can be read as a standalone, although it's of course better to have read the previous ones.
In Upstate NY a woman is found murdered in her home, her throat slashed. At first it's thought it was her husband, who had left her for another woman. The man she had recently dated is another person of interest. When a second woman is found with her throat slashed, who also dated the first victim's boyfriend, he becomes a suspect as well.
I very much enjoyed this book, I liked Bree and I loved all the dogs in the story! The ending was a complete shocker, I never saw that coming ...
Excellent read, definitely recommended.

It was a quick and enjoyable read. I appreciated the plot and the characters. However, I wish there had been more action throughout the book rather than just towards the end.

So good! I love Bree and Matt. They make such a good team together. This book is exciting and enthralling.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc in exchange for an honest review!

Bree Taggart brings all the stars. This series just gets better and better, there is so much going on in this story that you could get easily confused if it wasn’t such a good author keeping all of the storylines and characters in order, and giving you enough detail that you are hooked, but not enough that you truly get who it is, until you are supposed to know who the killer is, there are a couple of false ideas, but its so well done. I simply loved Bree and how she is coming to terms with her new life, and the realities around it, her relationship with Matt, and that of her family, as she hasn’t always had it easy and those connections are difficult to grasp, she has been growing every time, and this one just makes your heart so warm. I have always known Bree was a god person, but anyone who encourages and aids young people to read, needs more recognition in my eyes. This has been an amazing series, and I am so excited to see where they will go next.

Beyond Her Reach is the 10th book in the Bree Taggert series by Melinda Leigh. This book can be read as part of the series or enjoyed as a standalone mystery. I vote reading the whole series because Bree is one of my favorite lead characters!
This was a fast read…. because it was so good and because I refused to put it down! I was blown away by this book! I loved every minute of it!!! I refused to go to bed until I reached the very last page!
I absolutely love the characters in this series, and I have grown so attached to them. Sheriff Bree Taggert is fierce and amazing. I love her family and friends. The storyline was incredible! This is fast paced, filled with action, and so many twists and turns as Bree tries to figure out who the murderer is!
I highly recommend reading this if you enjoy crime dramas! 5 Stars!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Beyond Her Reach (Bree Taggert #10) by Melinda Leigh
Publisher: Montlake
Genre: General Fiction (Adult), Mystery & Thrillers
Expected Publication Date: September 16, 2025

Finally, a new book full of my comfort characters! All our favorites are back in the 10th addition to the Bree Taggert series. Morgan Dane and Lance Kruger also make an appearance from the Morgan Dane series.
As always, the story starts out with Morgan heading to a murder. A woman is found brutally murdered in her home. Is it her soon to be ex? A recent date? Someone else? I love how each new book tells a new story, while adding to the lives of our main characters. Haven’t read the other 9? No worries. You can start with this one, but I recommend not skipping any in the series.
Thanks to NetGalley and Montlake for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

4* Another decent outing with Bree Taggert, with glimpses of Morgan and Lance, from the Scarlett Falls books.
Whilst this isn't Bree's strongest sortie, it's still full of twists; decent investigative skills; people you'd (I'd) like to see get their comeuppance; people you don't for a second suspect as, well, suspects; and machinations that just make you wonder about people's sanity. That the book takes place in the US adds to the believability, all too sadly.
As usual, the people you think are the likely bad guys, given their lack of redeeming qualities, turn out to be decently done red herrings. Hints, and Bree's thoughts and instincts that we're privy to, add to the 'A-ha!' feel of figuring the mystery out, but not. The actual bad guys, I never would've clocked. I mean, for one person to let themselves be motivated by hatred and resentment and for another to let themselves be so manipulated, kind of felt it might not have worked, but the final reveal, the mention of physical characteristics and skill with taking lives, made it work. The ending was sad but justice got done for Kelly, who really didn't deserve what happened to her.
It was nice to see Morgan as the lawyer of the main suspect, with Lance supporting her from his slight back-seat position. I'm not sure that we also needed Olivia (Lance's boss's [doesn't work for me] love interest) but the tale worked and a guy who could've been framed, didn't.
