Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this eARC.
Although I appreciate the opportunity to read this book, as someone who has worked for decades as a professional writer and editor this one 📖 was a rare DNF (Did Not Finish). I almost immediately found the writing stilted and awkward; it read like a self-published poorly edited first novel.
That said, if the description appeals to you, give it a read, your mileage definitely might vary.
Personally, with so many potentially excellent books to read and review I found I had to quickly move on.

Eva’s Gift is an emotionally charged, fast-paced adventure that follows Chris and Jane as they dive headfirst into a dangerous mission to save a young refugee from a trafficking ring. What starts as a mid-life awakening turns into a fight for justice, forcing them to question everything—including their own place in the world. I loved how this book balanced intense, high-stakes action with moments of humor and heart, making the characters feel so real. If you enjoy thrillers with strong female leads, unexpected romance, and a story that keeps you on your toes, this one’s a great read.

Mid-life crisis? Try mid-life hero mode! Eva’s Gift takes Chris and Jane from everyday struggles to full-blown action stars as they throw themselves into the dark world of child trafficking to save Eva. This book has everything—danger, mystery, humor, and a slow-burn romance that sneaks up on you when you least expect it. One minute I was biting my nails, the next I was grinning at the banter. If you love thrillers with heart and characters you want to root for, trust me—this one delivers. 💥❤️📖
