The cupcake craze has been ongoing for a few years, and dozens (maybe hundreds) of cupcakes have been written on the subject. Some of them are just okay, and some are excellent. One of the latter is Let Them Eat Cupcakes: 100 Cupcake Recipes to Rule Them All, by Gabrielle Cote, who has a degree in Bakery and Pastry arts from the prestigious Culinary Institute of America. After reading and cooking from this amazing book, it’s obvious that Cote really knows her stuff.

While the first chapters of this excellent book include techniques, basics, equipment, and all the preliminary information needed to create perfect cupcakes at home, as well as several recipes for basic types of buttercream frostings and basic cupcake flavors, the most fun part of the book is the subsequent recipes for cupcakes celebrating major and minor holidays, the four seasons, birthdays, anniversaries, and other important milestones such as graduation. To add to the magic of this cookbook, Cote has taken famous desserts such as Sachertorte, Tiramisu, Rum Baba, and others and made them into mouthwatering cupcakes. She has also included dozens of recipes that use fresh fruit for flavoring, coloring, and toppings. Her imagination skills are amazing.

The recipes are written in the traditional manner with comments and notes at the beginning, followed by a list of ingredients and step-by-step instructions which are easy to follow and make it possible for bakers who are both beginning and advanced. The recipes are also accompanied by beautiful, professional photographs of the cupcakes, and those photos make it fun to peruse the book while picking out the next flavor to prepare.

All told, anyone who wants a good and complete cupcake cookbook will want to pick this one up.

Loved this cookbook. It provides you with over 100 recipes and it can be used from beginners to pros. I enjoyed all the pictures as well. It was easy to follow along to the recipes. I also loved the idea of a themed cupcake!

Wow 100 different recipes for cupcakes, who would have thought there could be so many different types. This book didn't disappoint. The photos of each cupcake are simply devine, look amazing and make you want to make them all. I've read many cupcake recipe books but this one has got to be one of my favourites. I can't wait to give some of the recipes a try. The Black Forest cupcakes and the Tiramisu cupcakes certainly were two that stood out for me to try first. Well done. Do not be intimidated by the pictures in this book. If you are a new cupcake baker your cupcakes most likely will not be as over the top beautiful as the pictures in this book. And that’s okay. They are still going to taste incredible. Plus that gives you a goal to work for.

The first part of the book gives you some base recipes and then you get different variations. I really thought it was cool the author included a vegan cake and “buttercream”

This is a fantastic book for anyone that enjoys cupcakes! Mydaught had a lot of fun following these instructions and making some gorgeous cupcakes.

This book is set up in an intuitive building-block-esque manner which allows you to mix and match contagions of batter and frostings. Though the flavors become increasingly complex, the recipes are still approachable and enticing.

Very good recipe book about cupcakes. From seasonal to holiday, there is a cupcake for what you are celebrating. The pictures are beautiful and adds to the excitement of wanting to create these cupcakes for my next special occasion.

This is a great cupcake cookbook for both beginners and pros! There are unique recipes in this that make really interesting flavors. I tried the Orange Blossom Cupcakes and they were really delicious! The other recipes I'm definitely going to be trying are Rose Cupcakes, Thai Tea Cupcakes, Bananas Foster Cupcakes,Strawberry Shortcake Cupcakes and Strawberry Lemonade Cupcakes. I would highly recommend this to bakers of all levels! A great book of recipes with new filling and flavour choices. I also liked that different types of buttercream was included in the book.

This is such a great collection of cupcake recipes! I especially appreciate the information on coverting recipes to gluten free. I had to order a copy for our library the second I finished it. Can't wait for our patrons to get their hands on it!

This was a wonderful, well-thought out, and interesting book all about cupcakes - yum! I really liked the design of the book - the font, the photos, all of that made for a beautiful cookbook. This book has some great detailed step by step information about mixing, ingredients and supplies to have on hand for making the cupcakes. What I didn't care for is that all the cupcakes are based of off 4 recipes. Then from these recipes you just add one of two more things to make it a different flavor. That seems to me like they are catering to bakers in a rush rather than bakers that want to make the best cupcake possible. There were a few flavors that fell flat for me because of this technique but all in all I am sure a great cupcake will be made.
