The Hotel by Penny Moonz is an intense and gripping horror novel that pulls readers into a dark, unsettling world. The atmosphere is thick with tension, and Moonz expertly builds a sense of dread with every page. It’s a chilling, immersive experience for fans of psychological horror and supernatural thrills.

The Hotel is a short story about a mother and son on their way home. A snowstorm forces them to spend the night in a hotel. On the way up to their room they encounter a strange man in the hallway.
When they are awoken up by a scream. This really start to ramp up. Penny Moonz does a good job of keeping the reader engrossed. Unfortunately the abrupt ending was a disappointment for me , hence the three star review.

This was an intriguing and enjoyable short horror thriller which packed a real punch!. It revolves around a woman and her young son who, after deciding to spend the night in a hotel in order to escape a wintry night, get more than they bargained for once inside the hotel walls. The plot was immersive and suspenseful and kept me guessing until the very end with a real cliffhanger of an ending that I never saw coming.
Thankyou to both Netgalley as well as Victory Editing Co Op for the opportunity to read this ARC short story.

A fast paced and intriguing read that kept me guessing right until the end. I love horror reads and this was one of the best I have read this year. My only criticism is that it wasn't longer but that is purely because I didn't want it to end

This is a short but good story! I want more, I couldn’t stop, it’s a very fast read and it’s a good thriller/ horror. The whole time I was thinking one was and the last pages showed me that I was totally wrong. I highly recommend this if you like thrillers if you’re in like a little league club and you want like a short read real quick, it is very good.

First, let me thank NetGalley, the publisher Victoria Editing, and the author, for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
My Synopsis and Opinions:
Kate and her three year old son Justin find a hotel just as the roads become treacherous. Even after encountering a strange man in the hallway, Kate is exhausted, and manages to fall asleep. It's not too long before she is awoken by screams.
I don't often review short stories, but this one deserved it. For a short story, this one packed a punch. The author created a creepy, atmospheric hotel, filled with a sense of foreboding from the first page. Not sure I liked the really abrupt end, but it worked.
Well done!

This was so short and scary that I kept holding my breath. It's a simple story of a woman spending the night in a hotel with her son and not knowing their back stories made them more interesting to me, because I kept wondering why they were there. Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this

When a woman and her young son check into The Hotel for the night they encounter a strange man lurking in the halls. Later, they are awoken, terrorized by blood curdling screams.
This little short tale goes right for the jugular!
It does not tip toe around but almost instantly serves up the splatter!
Very quick read and pretty well written. There was a spot or too where I got lost in a few quick jumps in the story
Still, I recommend. Published 2/22/2025
Thanks to @netgalley and Victory Editing Nargalley Co-op for the opportunity to read this eArc in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.

The latest Penny Moonz Horror extravaganza is a short and VERY terrifying piece, NOT to be read after dark or alone, and definitely not in a hotel room. The terror is subtly telegraphed, starting from the Nature strikes setting of a horrendous blizzard, ice-slippery roads, and low temperatures, on through the intensifying natural and unnatural frights, all the way to a solar plexus-punch ending!
