I really enjoyed this book! I loved Arden. She's forced to join Fort Bala, leaving her mother behind who is her only remaining family member. When she arrives, she's determined to conquer her fear and be the best--but at what cost? She makes fast friends with several of the other recruits, falling for a handsome medic. Nothing is really what it seems in this world, though. The story gave me some Hunger Game vibes with lots of twists and turns. I love that it's a secret society with secrets of its own. Fast paced read that will keep you turning pages. And Cyrus had perfect broodiness. I'm looking forward to the next book.
