A great with plenty of twists and turns I was hooked right from the very start! Highly recommend this book.

This was a very detailed psychological thriller and I feel like that was the way it was meant to go. It starts off in the UK and moves onto Nice where the story picks up from there. It moves onto where Brittany finds out she has become pregnant and it takes a sinister turn there and everything is to play for. Is the culprit Angelina or is it John? If you enjoy psychological thrillers then this will be one for you

First and foremost. If you have experienced infant or child loss and are in a vulnerable place, sit this one out. The blurb does not mention it. It is  discussed, at length, several times, not just in passing.

Overall, this book is a quick and twisty read. The beginning starts a little slow but picks up around the 35 percent mark. I wouldn't say there is a big shocking twist but the climax is well written and engaging.

I read this book as an ARC. Be sure to check it out on release day April 6th!

What a thrilling page turner! I am so glad I gave this thriller a try; I’m still pretty new to the genre. With shocking twists and developed characters, you can’t help but get sucked in. I can’t wait to see what the author does next!

Overall, The good parents is a fast-paced, emotionally charged thriller that will keep readers turning the pages. With its perfect balance of suspense and psychological drama, this is a novel that will make you question the boundaries between kindness and manipulation.
The novel excels in pacing, drawing readers deeper into Brittany’s mounting paranoia and the eerie atmosphere surrounding her. Each chapter reveals just enough information to keep the reader hooked, while also offering twists and turns that keep the mystery alive.
this book is a must-read for fans of psychological thrillers and suspenseful mysteries.

From the book bio: Pastry chef Brittany Young is still grieving for her recently deceased twin when she realizes she is pregnant. Certain she is in no shape to care for a baby, she feels utterly trapped. - For me, I think this is a bit of a spoiler as the death of Brittany’s sister read as such a beautiful and touching storyline that I feel I could have read an entire book just based on the relationship between the sisters and their struggles to survive financially and emotionally as one battles a medical issue. I loved this part of the story just as much as the thriller part and since it takes up a good portion of the beginning of the book, I would have rather gone in blind to this and not known Brittany’s twin was going to die. The bio also says that Brittany finds herself pregnant and salvation arrives in the form of the Daltons, who offer her a job at their luxurious villa in exchange for the ability to adopt the baby, but this is a bit misleading as Brittany is offered the job first and doesn’t find out she is pregnant until she has started the job and is already away at the Daltons’ luxurious villa.

Now, on to the story. Due to the touching beginning storyline with Brittany’s sister, and even her struggles with her career and finances, I was immediately connected with her and completely invested in her pursuit to succeed and find happiness. This was a book I did not want to put down! Many of the chapters are short and it definitely became one of those “one more chapter” books as I remained glued to this. This book was seemingly headed to 5 star territory for me. And then, the “twist” which wasn’t really a twist as much as it was just a revelation, which I kept hoping would be replaced by an actual twist, but it wasn’t. This book reminded me very much of one I’ve read by Freida McFadden, which I will not name, because just knowing which book I’m referring to may be a spoiler in and of itself. I felt very much the same about the McFadden book. I was fully invested and on the edge of my seat and then disappointed by what I felt was a lackluster twist. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a lackluster storyline, I just felt in both books that there is enough foreshadowing and suspicion regarding the characters that the revelations lose some of their shock value. With that being said, unlike the McFadden book that had been very hyped up, contributing to my overall disappointment, I had heard nothing about this book before picking it up on NetGalley and I found this to be a very quick, easy read with an enjoyable and relatable main character and an engrossing storyline.

This was a twisty thriller. The beginning was a bit slow but once it got going man it was good. Brittany deals with so much in this book and there is so many unlikeable characters. There are some good twists and some heartbreaking moments so this book really hits you everywhere. I can not wait to read more from this author.

Call to action took way too long. Lots of over descriptive info dumping that’s not needed at the beginning of the book. Especially in a thriller

First things first, thank you Netgalley and Inkubator Books for this ARC!

Well, this was for sure a wild ride! We do follow Brittany, who finds out she is pregnant. And so not ready for a baby. So, she accepts the offer of John and Angela Dalton to adopt her child after it is born. But something is wrtong with the Daltons. And Brittany wants to try and find out what. Even when she might not survive it....

A dark, twisted thriller I do highly recommend! I am really glad I gave the authos a second chance after struggling a little through Murder Maze. Which means you all should go and read this book once it is released!

My head is still spinning, and I’m not sure if I want to cry, laugh, or scream. This is one of those books that will leave you completely stunned, and the synopsis? It gives you no clue what you’re actually getting into. The first 30% of the book … I was questioning if I’d even picked up the right book. Nothing was what I thought it would be. I won’t lie, the beginning drags. The first part could’ve easily been condensed into a few chapters, but instead, it takes up nearly a third of the book. It felt slow, almost painfully so, and I was just waiting for the actual plot to kick in. But once it did, everything changed.

The twists in this book are wild. There are some truly over-the-top moments, but hey, it's fiction, so it gets a pass. The ending? It broke my heart, but somehow made me smile at the same time. I can’t explain it, but it was an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish. Overall, The Good Parents is one of those books that will have you confused, overwhelmed, and maybe even a little annoyed at the pace. But you won’t forget it.

This thriller kept me guessing from start to finish. It was dark, disturbing, and very twisted. Some of it was a little over the top but still kept me interested. Jessica Huntley masterfully creates a page-turner that is hard to put down. Thank you NetGalley and Inkubator Books for my copy.

An enjoyable, easy read. The beginning was a little slow as the background was set, then it raced to the end.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you Netgalley, Jessica Hunley, and Inkubator books for giving me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

WTF did I just read. My head is spinning and I don't know whether I want to cry, laugh, or scream. So much happened in this book and the synopsis doesn't even give you a clue to what you are reading. For the first 30% of the book (which was tragic and sad) I didn't even know if I was reading the right book. Because nothing was what it was supposed to be. The ending broke my heart and made me smile at the same time. Thank you again for allowing me to read this great piece of work."

Dark, twisted, and utterly unputdownable, The Good Parents is a fast-paced thriller packed with so many twists you’ll get whiplash. Told through dual narratives, it follows Brittany, a young chef still grieving her twin sister’s death, as she takes a job with a wealthy couple—only to discover they’re the “psycho couple from hell.”

Huntley masterfully builds tension, weaving in themes of pregnancy and postnatal depression while keeping the shocks coming. If you love thrillers that keep you guessing, this one’s a must-read!

The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the description spoiled the first fifth of the book.

I'm going to warn you that the first 30% of this book could have been reduced to about 2 pages of backstory. It takes forever to get to the actual plot!

Once you do, it's definitely interesting. Our characters - especially our couple - are really odd and very fun to read.

As for our MC, I was a little frustrated with her decision making skills (i.e. none), but she was definitely entertaining and had me munching the popcorn.

The truth behind everything is both sad and seriously over the top.

Overall a fun read.

REVIEW

Wow!!! Just wow!!! What a face paced thought-provoking read!

I was gripped from the first chapter and couldn't put it down!

The story follows a pastry chef who goes to live and work for a famous rich couple after losing her sister tragically! She leaves for the job, feeling alone in the world, not knowing at the time she is not as alone as she thought!
The family she goes to work for are desperate for a baby ... she is desperate to not have a baby ... it seems there's a simple solution where everyone wins!
What follows are twists and turns and an emotional roller coaster!
Not everything is as it seems!
Who should you believe, and who should you trust?
Who is desperate, and what lengths will they go to to get what they want?

I give this a 4.5 out of 5. I absolutely loved the story line there were just some parts that felt a little far fetched after the amazing opening but that's just my opinion although the base of the story is a solid 5 / 5 for me and the characters especially held my attention the whole time!
