I got this as an arc on Netgalley and it will come out in June. I love a messy fmc. I'm sorry but my heart wholly belongs to that especially if they have daggers. This book was simultaneously mellow and intense. I don't know how, but I loved it.

I am going to update this review as soon as I finish writing my full review, but I just need to put in here that I greatly enjoyed reading this! I was drawn in by the title and then found myself enthralled in the story and characters. I definitely recommend checking out this book!

If you’re craving a romantasy that hits like a punch to the heart and a kiss to the throat, Never Run from an Immortal is your next read. Victoria J. Price drops us into a world where blood, magic, and betrayal seep through the cracks of every dark alley—and it’s deliciously addictive.
We’re talking: ⚔️ Foul-mouthed, chaos-bringing heroine
🦇 Broody, powerful vampire lord with a broken past
👀 Enemies-to-lovers that smolders
🏙️ Urban fantasy meets high stakes political drama
💥 Forced proximity, magical bargains, slow-burn tension
Rae Farren is not here to make friends—she’s sharp-tongued, reckless, and unapologetically badass. The fact that she strikes a bargain with Aidan Vale, the morally grey vampire prince of my dark little dreams, is either genius or madness. (Spoiler: it’s both.) Their banter? Electric. Their chemistry? Off the charts. And the slow-burn? SO. SATISFYING.
But Never Run from an Immortal doesn’t stop at swoon. It digs deeper—into power, identity, and the cost of survival in a fractured world. Demesia is layered with corruption, ancient grudges, and secrets that could unravel empires. Victoria J. Price’s writing is gritty and cinematic, with just enough softness to make you care when things start to burn.
✨ The world-building is rich but accessible, with whispers of tech-meets-magic dystopia.
✨ The dual POV lets you live inside both Rae’s fire and Aidan’s shadows.
✨ And the emotional tension? It hurts in the best way.
You’ll come for the enemies-to-lovers trope, and stay for the pain, the plot twists, and the morally grey everything.
💀 “Know thy enemy,” they said. Well… turns out falling for your enemy has very real consequences.
I can’t wait to see where this series goes next. Because Rae and Aidan? They’re about to set this whole world on fire—and I’ll be cheering them on with a dagger in one hand and a glass of blood-red wine in the other.
📚✨ Perfect for fans of The Bargainer, From Blood and Ash, and City of Sin vibes.
🔥 Tropes: Enemies to Lovers, Marriage of Convenience, Forced Proximity, Morally Grey Leads, Found Family, Magic x Tech Fusion.
Thank you NetGalley, and Victoria J. Price for the eARC.

These characters? please, they are sooo good!
I have to admit, the title pulled me in with this story, but the characters kept me hooked. Rae and Aidan are a great pair of main characters with well written backgrounds and strong personalities from the first word.
Whilst I did struggle with the magic/family background to this story but at 30% in, this clicked for me, and I was just along for the fabulous ride.
The marriage of convenience trope can sometimes come across as a little creepy, but it was very well written in this book.
oh, and the banter? All day, please!

Thank you NetGalley, Victory Editing, and finally Victoria J.
Price for giving me an ARC of Never Run From An Immortal. All thoughts are my own.

First and foremost I would like to say that I really, really enjoyed this book. What really sold it for me was Aidan's and Rae's relationship throughout the book. The enemies to lovers dynamic will always get me, but I truly loved seeing them grow closer as the story progressed. THE YEARNING!!! I also really liked the side characters, and can't wait to see them get more fleshed out as the story continues in more books. I especially liked Reed and Baelin. They really stood out to me and I fear I will grow too attached.
One thing to note is that it took me a long time to get into the story. I would say I only got truly invested at around the 50% mark. This is for a multitude of reasons but the main two being I started reading this during a major book slump and because it took me a while to really get a feel for the world building. It also took me a little longer to understand and vibe with Rae's character, but like I said once I got about half way, I finally started to connect with her which helped my experience a lot. I think these are more personal things rather than the author's or book's fault hence why it didn't impact the rating too much.
Overall I really enjoyed reading this and can't wait for more!

I was kindly gifted this as an ARC, and what I will say is that I really didn’t expect this, in all the best ways.
This book was so easy to read, and I read it over two days. It has it all: Vampires, Humans, Witches, Fae and Shifters, and the way this book is in tune with modern elements really brings the story to life, in a relatable way.
I loved the classic enemy to lovers trope, and whilst the book was predictable, it was predictable in the right way. My heart really felt for the characters and the duel POV really helped to understand the characters on a deeper level.
The only thing I would say, was there was a lot of characters and names. I forgot who people were because there were so many to remember, but I think that’s likely more of a me problem!
Would 100% recommend and hoping for a special edition!

It’s not often that a title is the first thing that intrigues me, but Never Run from an Immortal certainly did.
When I got to the tropes, I knew I’d be hooked. I can’t explain why, but a Marriage of Convenience trope in an Enemies to Lovers story is hard for me to pass up. Couple that with them both being morally gray and I’m a goner.
Rae and Aiden are both such entertaining and interesting characters and it’s so much fun to see both sides of their deal that they are each certain will fail spectacularly.
Urban romantasy has been a recent discovery of mine and it’s such a cool concept to mix in paranormal/fantasy beings into a modern world with technology and modern comforts as opposed to the “old worlds” we most commonly see them in. The way that magic is used as protection, particularly by Rae, is a really cool component to the story.
I’m so excited to continue Rae and Aiden’s story in book 2 (and not just because of what should be an illegal cliffhanger).

I picked up Never Run From An Immortal craving a dark, thrilling mix of vampires and magic—and it absolutely delivered. From the start, Rae stood out as a bold, resourceful thief-turned-spy with far more secrets than she lets on. When she crosses paths with Aidan, a powerful (and somewhat jaded) Vampire Lord who wants to modernize his kind, the tension between them sizzles. Their mutual attraction never feels forced; it’s a natural outcome of two people who keep saving each other’s skins, even while pretending they don’t care.
One of my favorite aspects of the book is the richly woven world—vampires, witches, humans, fae, and plenty of factions in between. Yes, it’s a lot to keep track of, but that complexity also means the stakes run high. Never Run From An Immortal manages to balance non-stop action with just enough personal moments to make you care deeply about who lives (and who might not). I found myself rooting hard for Rae and Aidan’s crew, especially Bae. His skill (a form of magic I’d love to have for myself) made him both fascinating and unexpectedly endearing. In fact, all the characters on Rae and Aidan’s side feel like real people with goals, flaws, and personalities you can latch onto—while the antagonists are so convincingly written, you’ll have no trouble despising them.
There’s also a steady undercurrent of mystery running through the book, with Rae harboring secrets that gradually bubble to the surface. The emotional payoff for these revelations is substantial, especially when it collides with a devastating loss that tests Rae’s limits in ways she never expected. By the time the final twist rolled around, I was practically begging for the next book, I'm dying not having another one to pick up. If you enjoy espionage, forbidden alliances, and a slow-burn romance crackling with danger, Never Run From An Immortal should go straight to the top of your reading list. Just don’t be surprised if you end up flipping pages well past midnight—and craving the next installment the moment you finish.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book! It kept me engaged from start to finish and hooked me quickly—as a sexy vampire story tends to do.
I liked both main characters, especially Rae. She’s thoughtful, creative, and multi-faceted, which made her a main character I’d happily follow through a series. I also found myself genuinely invested in her relationship with Aiden and rooting for their success.
That said, I did get a bit lost at times. There were quite a few names and minor characters that felt unnecessary, which made it hard to keep track of who was who and whether I was missing something important. There was also some jumping around between locations, scenes, and topics that pulled me out of the story occasionally.
Still, it was a fun read overall, and I’d definitely recommend it to fellow fans of sexy vampire books (like me!). I just wish it had gone through another round or two of editing to smooth out the rougher spots.

Overall, I really enjoyed reading this book, if you like a vampire romance then this is the book for you!
Plot:
The plot had dimensions which I enjoyed, between the love story, the friendships and the big bad guys. I found parts of the plot predictable but in an enjoyable way, whilst other plot points felt under developed.
Characters:
Rae is a badass, with attachment difficulties 😅 I really enjoyed her wit and humour. However, I would of liked more time spent with her changing perspectives to understand them a bit more.
Aidan: Sexy, sweet a bit too serious at times. But I love him.
Bae: the highlight of the book. No notes.

After fighting alongside Aidan during an attack at a club and targeting him for his protection and fortune, Rae agrees to enter into a partnership with the vampire lord.
What I enjoyed about these main characters was that they weren’t only defined by one or two things. They were complex and flawed, as every real person is. Rae is physically and emotionally strong, deeply protective, and laser focused. Aiden isn’t your usual brooding reluctant leader. He does want to make real change, but he’s held back by his missing abilities. Their banter was on point and felt true to who they are. Oftentimes you read books where the dialogue is lacking and that was far from true with this book.
While the plot twists were ones that I’d seen coming I enjoyed how they were carried out. The ending did leave us on a cliffhanger, so I’m eagerly awaiting the next installment.
Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC.

Brilliant urban Romantasy.
This book kept me up all night reading as it was so good! The stakes were high, the romance tense and the threat of betrayal was always looming.
I really loved the dystopian vibes with the plot. I don't want to give away spoilers but it felt like a 'fight the corrupt system' kind of novel which combined with the fantasy element was right up my street! CC vibes!
Overall loved it! Can't wait for the next book ❤️

From the moment you start this book, you are immediately thrown right into the action. Which is something I absolutely love. This is an urban fantasy with a dark, gritty world that is full of humans, vampires, witches, and fae.
Both our main characters are morally grey and hot as hell. I loved Rae, she is so witty and clever. And Aidan is a giant, tatted dark haired vampire who wants to destroy anyone who hurts Rae. So basically, he’s perfect. This is an enemies to lovers/marriage of convenience romance. And listen, I love a good “my wife” moment which this book has a few of.
This definitely has all the makings of an amazing romantasy. I do feel that things got a little confusing and rushed toward the second half of the book. The pacing just felt off. And while the romance was great, I hope we are able to get a more in depth understanding of their feelings for each other in the books to come. I also really wanted to slow down those spicy scenes because they felt a bit rushed. After all the tension leading up to them, I really wanted to be able to savor those moments a little bit more.
Thank you so much to Netgalley for this ARC!

Never Run from an Immortal starts off a bit slow, but I’ve got a personal rule to always read until at least halfway—because that’s usually when the plot really finds its footing. This book is a great example of why that rule works. As the story unfolds, the characters deepen, the pace picks up, and it becomes hard to put down.
What stood out the most to me was the main character. She’s not your typical strong female lead—she’s deeply flawed, and that’s what makes her feel real. Her trauma has shaped her into someone fiercely independent, almost to the point of isolation. She’s terrified of caring or being cared for, especially by someone who’s technically her enemy. Watching her slowly confront those emotional walls added so much depth and tension to the story.
The male lead is also surprisingly refreshing. He’s a powerful vampire lord, but not in the usual broody, tortured way. Sure, he has insecurities and burdens, but he doesn’t let them define him. He genuinely cares about the people in his inner circle, and he’s constantly juggling the role of an all-powerful leader with a softer side that actually wants to do what’s right. That contrast made him feel layered and human—well, as human as a vampire lord can be.
Overall, Never Run from an Immortal is a slow-burn story that rewards patience. If you’re into character-driven fantasy with emotional depth, moral complexity, and a twist on the usual vampire tropes, it’s definitely worth your time.

Oh my god, oh my god.
This book hasn't even been released yet and now I am craving book two?!?!? SUFFERING.
Never Run From An Immortal genuinely had everything I need from a Romantasy.
The tension, the plot twists, the BANTER - everything had me hooked and I couldn't stop reading!
I love it when the female main character is capable and Rae is exactly that. She's such a boss, strong and capable without being annoying. Her past was heartbreaking but she wasn't whiny or anything, she truly is that girl. And her relationship with Vale, oh my god. He's grumpy but she had him wrapped around her finger. This is a slow burn so the tension was truly tensioning and by the time they gave into each other it was so full of longing and despair, I was giggling and kicking my feet.
Some of the twists I saw coming, others I didn't. And the ending? I expect some YEARNING in the second book and cannot wait to read it!!
Thank you at netgalley and the publishers for letting me read this gem. NEED BOOK TWO ASAP.

Love the premise of this book, vampires are my thing. Just felt that the writing was a bit juvenile. Did enjoy the plot.

⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Packed with secrets, deception, and plenty of twists, this book takes you on a thrilling ride. Rae Farren, a fierce vampire with a thirst for vengeance, and Aidan Vale, a ruthless vampire king searching for his stolen magic, make for an electrifying duo. You’ll be reading about their complicated, fiery relationship - definitely one of the book’s highlights.
The world-building took a bit to get into… there’s a lot!!!! Add a marriage of convenience, a badass FMC, and a world with vampires, witches, fae, and shifters, and you’ve got a plot that never slows down.
If you enjoy intense, action-packed fantasy with a touch of romance, this one’s for you!

Rae Farren, a vampire with a thirst for blood and vengeance, and Aidan Vale, a ruthless vampire king who has had his magic stolen from him. Rae is a fascinating protagonist - fierce, independent, and unafraid to speak her mind, she is a force to be reckoned with. Her thirst for blood and her desire to protect those she cares about drive her actions, and her determination to strike a deal with the enemy, even though she knows it could lead to her downfall, is a testament to her strength and bravery.
Aidan is a complex and layered character - he is ruthless and cunning, but also vulnerable and haunted by his past. His desperation to reclaim his magic and maintain his grip on the throne is palpable, and his growing attraction to Rae adds an extra layer of tension and intrigue to the story.
The chemistry between Rae and Aidan is electric, and their interactions are some of the highlights of the book. As they navigate their complicated relationship and work together to strike a deal, sparks fly and tempers flare, leading to some truly memorable scenes. Overall, this was a fun and engaging read, one I would highly recommend.

This was my first Victoria J Price book and it will NOT be my last! I really enjoyed the writing style and the unreliability and intrigue of everyone around Rae and Aiden, including themselves.
Rae and Aiden were very likable characters, as were the side characters. The magic was unique and interesting as well! I couldn’t get myself to put this book down most of the time.
I’m very eager to read the next one and would absolutely recommend this!
