This was my first ever ARC, and I am so glad I received it. I absolutely loved this book. This was my first fantasy book after digging into dark romance for a while and it was great! I feel like the main storyline was excellent and it really drew me in. I immediately wanted to know what was going on and I wanted all the answers. The enemies-to-lovers story was really well written. Especially with their internal struggles to be vulnerable while at the same time wanting to maintain their fierceness and also not wanting to tell the other the whole truth. I also really enjoyed having a strong, sarcastic, and determined FMC instead of an FMC that needed a man to take care of her.
I really loved the thought that was put into the different orders and factions. Each one was really well thought out and executed well. Personally, I had a hard time keeping up with the orders and factions, but I think that was my own personal struggle and nothing to do with the way the author wrote the book. The magic system used in the book was also very well written and I especially loved the symbolism of the pool scene towards the end of the book.
There were a few times in the book when I was a little confused as far as the setting they were in. I feel like there could have been more detail placed on the setting of the books. However, I don't think the confusion of that changed the overall enjoyability of the book.
This was overall such a fun and enjoyable book! I can't wait for the next one so I can continue the story after that cliff the author left us on!

This just put me back into fantasy (as if I ever left the genre lmao). This was unique and intriguing in so many different ways.

The world building is beautifully done, the character development is remarkable, and the SLOW-BURN, ENEMIES TO LOVERS?? You’re kidding….. My heart was aching by the end of this book and knowing I have to wait… who knows how long to figure out what happens next.

Vale. Farren. 💔❤️‍🩹

Wow wee where to begin. This book gave and it’s going to keep giving because there is no way with the ending that there isn’t going to be a sequel and I’m here for it!

This is an urban romantasy featuring a sassy and fiercely independent FMC and a MMC that is stoic and a dreamer. He is the leader of the vampires and she is a jeweller that imbues magic into her pieces aiding the humans against vampires and fae forced together by entering a deal with one another whilst not trusting each other.

The world building and characters are action packed and easy to follow along. Its fast paced and keeps you entranced through the whole read with its dual POV and banter between the characters. The side characters are well thought out and each play a key role in the book (didn’t feel like fillers). Loved the dual relationship of Rae and Bae as well as Ru and Quinn appearances.

Troupes that we all love are seen in this book - Marriage of convenience, slow burnnnnnnn enemies to lovers, (… dare we say more than lovers?!), morally grey MC, forced proximity. MMC is definitely a “touch her and die” man.

It was a great read that I was fortunate enough to read as an ARC through Netgallery.

Arc review
Never Run From an Immortal by Victoria J Price.

This is my first book by the author and it will definitely not be my last. I fell instantly into this amazing read, totally absorbed from the first few pages. It’s fast paced and the world really came alive for me. I adored both of the main characters and literally did not want the book to end.

We meet Rae, a tough, and snarky thief, worn down by years of fighting for what she believes in. She’s brash, opinionated and bold, daring to take on the Order - a ruling class of vampires.

It’s a dual POV, which worked so well. I loved the banter between Rae and Aiden, the dark and shadowy Vampire lord she is hunting. Despite outside appearances, he has a soft possessive side which I was totally here for!

Set in a bleak urban landscape where magic rests side by side with modern technology, it has a unique twist which worked really well.

I cannot wait for book 2 to see where the story goes and will be supporting the kickstarter releasing later this month!

Thank you Victoria and NetGalley for the e-ARC!

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for approving me to read this book, I’m rating it 3.75 - 4.0 stars.

I had a lot of fun reading this, the FMC is pure feminine rage and sarcasm. The FMC just has this presence throughout and despite the catastrophic and chaotic things that occur in her life, she maintains that formidable presence. Our MMC is broody and a little self loathing, but he commands attention and doesn’t tolerate disloyalty. Those two were quite a pair on the page, epitome of tension as they clashed and bit back at one another. A true enemies to lovers fantasy!

A lot happens in a short amount of time, but the story doesn’t feel rushed. I enjoyed the twists, but I did see one of them coming.

This is a great book 1 in the series and I’m really looking forward to what happens next.

Never Run From an Immortal ticks all my trope boxes and then some; enemies to lovers (of course), arranged marriage, forced proximity, sassy street smart FMC paired with an idealistic dreamer MMC (who has to hide his feelings towards his race) - it’s all in the mix and it’s tantalisingly good. Never Run From an Immortal is relentless from start to finish - I can’t wait for the second book.

Vampires? ✅
Fae ✅
Witches ✅

I didn’t know what to expect from this novel when I started it, but I am sure glad that I read it. I absolutely loved this book! Victoria J. Price did an amazing job crafting the world and the characters. The story did not feel rushed at all unlike other romantasy novels I have read recently.

Aidan and Farren were well developed characters in this novel. We get a glimpse of their past and how it shaped them. Their relationship was tumultuous at first, but the anticipation was worth it. On that note, I think the spice in the book was not too overwhelming.

Who would not love Baelin? Baelin, Quinn, and Ru were perfect additions to the story. Honestly, the other characters in the book did not feel like they were put in there just to be fillers. They helped shape the story.

I cannot wait for the next book in the story. It will be a long wait, but I know it will be worth it! I highly recommend reading this book especially to those who love romantasy and enemies-to-lovers stories.

✨This review is for an ARC.✨

Ahhhh! This was so good. I loved that the book hooked me from the beginning and I didn’t want to put it down. The world building was amazing and I was very thankful for the descriptions of the orders and factions at the beginning of the book. Rae is such an amazing FMC and I can’t wait to see what chaos she causes in the next book. Aiden the MMC is also fabulous. They both have amazing character development individually and together. I can’t wait for more of Rae and Bae as well!

Couldn’t put it down! It’s a wild read that hooks you from chapter one and finishes with surprises that will have your jaw on the floor. Cannot wait for more!!

Fast-paced and action-packed from the start, I couldn't put it down.

The main characters are true ennemies-to-..., well you will see!

Eater eggs are planted throughout the story but they aren't 'over-obvious' so you will feel smart when you spot them. That being said, you still won't see some plot twists coming!!

Definitely not a single dull moment with this book, and to wrap this up we get a last chapter promising a thrilling sequel!

PS: This is my first ARC review on NetGalley and I'm glad it is for this book!

I've seen this book popping up all over social media, so I was so excited to jump into the story. This is a really cool concept and a neat world that has been created. Unfortunately for me, the way the information and world building was delivered left me feeling like I was always one-step behind - it's a lot at once, and I felt like I never had the chance to catch up or learn everything before a new concept was introduced. The result was I felt a level of disconnect from the story as a whole, despite desperately wanting to be immersed in it.
However, I am really interested to see where the story goes next!

Thank you so much to the author for the ARC via NetGalley and for giving me the opportunity to share my honest thoughts on the book.

4.5 ⭐️

Just finished reading this and I already can’t wait to read the next book in the series to see what happens next!
I’m a sucker for a strong FMC and MMC, and this book did not disappoint.
If you love a book with strong characters, good world building and plots with some twists and spice, then this book is for you. You won’t be disappointed.

This book was amazing! The world-building pulled me in, and I was hooked the whole time, constantly wondering what would happen next.

She’s dead set on wiping out all vampires, so she comes up with a risky plan—making a deal with a vampire lord to get closer to them.

Tropes to expect:
🔥vampires, fae, witches, and all kinds of different creatures
🔥enemies to lovers
🔥marriage of convenience
🔥they are probably fated mates? Not sure, we gotta wait for the next book now🥲

It’s a 4.5⭐️ for me and I loved every second of it

I had literally no idea what to expect from this. Victoria J. Price is a new author for me and I was completely blown away. Read this whole thing in one setting. It was seriously so good.

A sassy witch, a brooding immortal, and all the sexual tension—what more could you ask for? This book had me hooked from page one. The banter between Rae and Aiden was chef’s kiss, the worldbuilding was top-notch, and every twist caught me off guard in the best possible way. I was literally yelling at the pages, just kiss already! And now I’m desperate for book two!

If you’re looking for an addictive urban Romantasy then this is the winner. Never Run From An Immortal is my new obsession.

Thank you for this ARC, provided by NetGalley.

This book felt like it would be enjoyable for readers that liked “The Dark in You” series by Suzanne Wright and the “Demon Days, Vampire Nights” series by K.F. Breene.

Right from the start, I found this story challenging to get into. The world-building hits you over the head with its different groups of creatures and factions and doesn’t really let up. It felt like every second sentence introduced a new name, character, subgroup, position, or leader, making it hard for the actual story to come through.

The FMC was the typical snarky, sassy heroine that this genre is teeming with. I found her far too cocky and grating - I can get behind a character like this, but she somehow felt hollow. Her dialogue and overall attitude made her feel like a walking cliché of a cocky urban fantasy heroine that I’ve seen a thousand times before. The very played-out quips and generic dialogue that was often used didn’t help much with my impression either.

The MMC fit the stereotypical cold, focused leader type. I did enjoy the marriage of convenience/fake relationship aspect once it got going, but since both characters felt like archetypes rather than fully developed characters, their interactions weren’t all that interesting to read.

That said, the world itself had sparks of intriguing lore built into it and I found the action quite enjoyable. The chemistry between the two leads was felt, and I did like scenes of them as they worked together.

Unfortunately, the plot felt convoluted and messy, making it difficult to follow. Lore and character details were randomly dropped in a way that felt more like scattered exposition than meaningful world-building. The overwhelming amount of information, combined with disjointed smaller plot points, made it hard to stay engaged with the main storyline.

I’m disappointed I didn’t enjoy this more because I love urban fantasy and saw real potential here. There were moments I liked - glimpses that were really fun - but overall, it didn’t really entice me to continue the series.

Thank you Netgalley for the arc!bI adored this book! If you loved the world building in Crescent City by SJM and House of Devils by Kayla Edwards then definitely check this one out. I absolutely love this type of urban fantasy that blends advanced technology and fantasy elements in such a fun way.
Our FMC, Rae, is a jeweler and our MMC Aidan is the Vampire Lord, leader of the vampires who have terrorized humans forever and the last person that Rae wants to trust. Demesia is on the brink of war, and after being thrown together Rae and Aidan need to work together. Aidan is missing magic that only Rae can find, and Aiden has resources that she needs to accomplish her goals (which we learn about throughout the book.) Loved the marriage of convenience trope in this!
I loved the dual POV, Aidan’s chapters were honestly my favorite! I loved him and Rae together. They had so much chemistry and great banter.
The plot was fast paced and had so many twists I loved it! The worldbuilding at the start was a bit confusing but I ended up catching on pretty quick. The ending was freaking fantastic and I will be patiently waiting for book 2 because I’m so excited to go back to these characters!

I love a good paranormal romance and it's always interesting to see what authors do to differentiate their story from so many paranormal romances that have already been written.

In this story, you have Vampires, Fae, and humans all sharing a city. Each of the group is broken down into different orders based on how they believe the city should be "ruled" or run. The humans are sick of being on the bottom and some of their orders are looking for ways to get rid of the vampires and fae. The Vampire Lord has a big secret and ends up teaming with a human woman that likes to use spells to change her appearance.

In some aspects, I suppose this could sound like some other paranormal romance books, but I thought the author did a fair job of keeping things interesting and different. I wish they would have gone a little deeper into some aspects of the world building, but maybe the next book will add to it!

I give this book 3.5 stars (rounded up to 4) and I look forward to when the 2nd book is released!

Thank you #NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
