Being able to smell if someone is lying makes Kaede an invaluable asset to a secret intergalactic alien insurance company. As Kaede is deciding if he will accept the job, he discovers there are many aliens around us in human flesh suits, including his missing friend.
Tamura gives a unique scii-fi story with aliens, paranormal ability, a stolen spaceship, and a terminally ill case that takes us on an empathy excursion. Rich characters have me looking forward to Vol 2.

Cosmos Volume 1 introduces a unique story about aliens, insurance, and sniffing out lies—blending wild sci-fi with heartwarming undertones.

I don't read a lot of manga, so I previewed this book for our school library to see if it will be of interest to my students. This is a fun and unique story! I think my students will enjoy it a lot and the content is appropriate for the age level (considering current state policies, this is an important factor now). Thank you for the review copy!

Cosmos is an action manga series from the creator of Beezlebub about an insurance agency for extraterrestrials and a human teen who can smell lies. It is a wild premise that feels pretty fresh for a action manga aimed at teens. The stories of the various aliens make the reader sympathize with them, and realize not everything is always what it seems. This is Tamura's first series to get a physical release in English.

Kaede is a high school student with a special ability. He can smell whether someone is lying or not lying. When he assists a classmate in tracking down her missing boyfriend, he learns that there are aliens living among us and is recruited by Cosmos, an intergalactic insurance agency to assist them on their investigations. But what he learns on the job has implications for his life and health. So what will he end up doing in the end? It will be interesting to see what is revealed in the next volume!
Thanks Netgalley and Viz Media for the chance to read this title!
