It had that element that I was hoping for from a historical element that I was looking for. Terri Lewis wrote this perfectly and am excited for more in this series. It was everything that I wanted from this type of book. The characters had that feel that I was looking for and thought they worked well overall. The love triangle worked well overall and using the coming of age concept perfectly.

A good old-fashioned historical romp of a book, well-researched and covering many years in the life of Isabelle of Angouleme, from a skittish girl to a former queen, as Terri Lewis brings to life the women's story from the shadows. A well-told story.
