Rural/southern crime fiction with a Shakespearean edge. I'm personally suffering from grit-lit fatigue over the past few years, but this is a great book regardless of genre. Ultra scuzzy but done with great care when it comes to the prose.

Lately, I’ve been reading more mystery thrillers than ever before and I enjoyed this one too. I admire the author’s writing style and storytelling. This is the first book of Judah Cannon series and it definitely makes you curious about the rest. If you enjoy reading mystery, thriller and contemporary fiction; then this one is definitely for you!
