Good credentials for both authors when googled them but both names new to me so wasn’t sure what to expect

What got was a quirky, fiesty yet casual to read book centred around dating apps and what can happen when the wrong person/people use them

For saying the subject matter it was quite a homely book and at least one of the authors love the Hudson river area re the descriptions given of it ( within context and built a good minds eye of the setting )

It was funny and serious, in equal measure and a bit romantic and a bit scary too

If ‘different’ is your thing then a pretty good read tbh, enjoyably dark and yet light and a good story within

‘Swipe’ by R.G. Belsky and Bonnie Traymore was a 3.5/5 star read for me.

This is a story about modern dating apps and the dangers they pose on users. It explores how the FMC, Sonya, gets revenge on people she’s been on dates with through the MetMee app who have offended her. Her revenge plots get out of hand and she finds herself fleeing the scene of a murder. Through the app she meets reporter, Jake, who just wants to get his name out there again and be taken seriously in his profession. He has been tasked with writing a short feature about dating apps, but he’s driven to finding a much bigger story. The two end up crossing paths, not knowing what the other is hiding. Things start to get tricky when Sonya discovers that her brother in law is also on the app, and is found dead after being reported missing. Could Sonya be the one behind it all?

I enjoyed this book and it was a really good concept to explore. This was a fast-paced and easy read, but there weren’t really any jaw-dropping moments for me. The twists were a little predictable, but enjoyable nonetheless.

This one kept me on my toes! I did not see the twists, which I appreciated very much. This story follows two characters, Sonya and Jake. Sonya is a single woman attempting to find a match on online dating apps; Jake is a reporter at a low point in his career and is working at a publication that he feels is beneath him. He wishes to work at a more reputable and respectable publication. Following a death at the beginning of the book, Sonya's and Jake's paths wind toward a thrilling conclusion rampant with character suspicions, threats, and lies. I enjoyed how involved and cooperative law enforcement was with Jake; his relationship with the Lt. Sgt. working the case, while fraught at first, developed into one of mutual respect and understanding. I think Sonya was a solid, likeable character, even if the reader is not quite sure of her motivations throughout the book. You still get the sense that she's a good person and hope that things work out for her in the end.

Watching these characters try to figure out the mystery was exciting. I swept through this book. However, I do believe the text can be cleaned up a bit regarding "showing versus telling". That being said, this didn't prevent me from enjoying the book, but it would be significantly better if some scenes were fleshed out a bit.

This cleverly encapsulates the dangers and dishonesty of dating apps, enough to warn me away from them! It truly was astounding to see how far a person will go to trick or lead astray people they meet on those kinds of apps. A truly frightening reality, in today's high-tech world.

Likeable main characters, and even when you wish they do things differently, you still love them. This story made me interested in reading more from these authors.

Sonya is looking for love online, as it is awkward meeting people in person these days. Not initially revealing her true identity, she tackles these dates, one at a time and runs across some very “interesting” men. She slowly finds herself in compromised situations & when she finds herself smack dead in the middle of a murder investigation, she doesn’t know where to turn nor who to trust.

Overall a solid read that was very entertaining, and kept my attention. Thank you BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for this advanced reader copy. All opinions are my own.

This is a short, fast paced thriller with duelling narratives and it does exactly what is expected of it.

The dying app as source of thriller concept is still on the rise, somehow this feels like an amalgamation of all of those we have seen before.

It’s a fun and quick book but not particularly memorable.

Swipe was a fantastic read! It truly brought the state of today’s dating world into perspective, and how dangerous it could potentially be. You see carefully curated profiles of people, not truly knowing who they are until much later…and by then it could be way too late.

Sonya likes to get revenge on the slimey men pretending to be someone they aren’t on the dating apps, she’s become quite the vigilante of the dating world. Has she met her match in Jake, an undercover reporter researching the dating apps?

The plot twist had my jaw on the floor with this one. Highly recommend.

I am a sucker for a modern thriller. This one is about a dating app and how one swipe can be a huge mistake. Luckily I’m not dating or else this book would make me steer clear of dating apps. I was happy with the pacing in this book and it kept me hooked. It had some really good twists and turns as well. I was able to guess some of them but I enjoyed the lead up to them.

I enjoyed this book. It was easy to read and it was an interesting storyline. The dangers of online dating - it's something that could easily happen in the real world. However, it did feel a bit far-fetched at times and I felt there wasn't any real depth to the story. I was ready for it to end. However it would make a great holiday read.

The book was an easy read and I found myself wanting to pick it up as soon as I’d put it down!! Lots of twists and turns following the story from Jake (a reporter working on a story about dating aps) and Sonya (a dating so user)

The story was mainly told from the prospective of Jake and Sonya. It kept me on my toes until the big reveal at the end. Lots of side stories as you made your way through the story to keep you entertained and wanting more.

I enjoyed the end how it wrapped up the story

This was a quick, easy read, with short chapters and enough twists to keep me wanting more, at first anyway. The writing and dialog toward the end seemed to turn a little... simplistic. Does a reporter really need to define facial recognition software to a police detective? In the final showdown, the villain dropping a large knife, only to "whip out" a smaller one was almost comical. After that I just wanted to be finished with it.

Pulled me in from the very beginning. I was intrigued with the whole dating app stortyline and it did not disappoint. Very twisty and suspenseful. Great read!

Wow! Lots of twists and turns, lots of suspense and shocks! This one was hugely entertaining and so hard to put down! With dating apps being so popular, this story is especially disturbing and realistic! Sure makes you wonder who are the people behind the profiles REALLY? Yikes!

I really enjoyed this book. It certainly doesn't lie when it says it is a twisty psychological thriller.

This book follows two POVs, Sonya and Jake. Sonya is a woman looking for dates on the dating app MetMee but ends up getting herself into sticky situations. Jake is a journalist tasked with writing a feature piece on the pros and cons of dating apps, but he knows that he can write something better than a feature.

Everything about this book was great. I enjoyed the characters and thought that they were well thought out and made sense together. The story was great and I definitely didn't see the twists coming. And the way the story panned out was great, I definitely left this book feeling satisfied.

The only thing I didn't really enjoy was the pairing at the end of the book. but that might be the romance reader in me.

I have never personally used dating apps before and ifs not something i am comfortable with and i think this has put me off even thinking about using them.

you have two main characters sonya who has struggles from her past and finds herself in a bad situation and jake a journalist who used to work for newspaper but is working for an online company but wants more.... he is assigned to start looking into dating apps and he gets more than he bargained for..

its intriguing and suspensful funny in places when it talks about some of the bad dates and i didnt see the twist coming though looking back the signs were there. Its really believeable as well because there are some crazy people out there.

A fast faced thriller about online dating apps that will make you think twice about swiping right. Told in alternating POVs of Jake and Sonya, you're left to figure out who is murdering men on MetMee and who is telling the truth. There were definitely some twists I didn't see coming. I was hoping it would be like Dead Stream but it wasn’t.
Not the books fault just wasn’t feeling it

Sonya is still trying to cope with the loss of her mother to suicide that she attributes to her father cheating. Sonya joins a dating app and begins talking to various men. When they treat her poorly on the dates or she discovers they’re using the app to cheat, she seeks revenge on them. Unfortunately, this does not bode well when one of the men accidentally falls over the edge of a cliff as Sonya is confronting him about his wife.

Jake is a former reporter that is now trying to survive working at a clickbait website. Jake is assigned to write a piece on dating apps and is reluctant initially. Through his research, he learns about the death of Matt Furman and other weird things that have happened to different men on the app and begins to wonder if there is more to Matt’s death than police thought.

Bella’s, Sonya’s sister, husband leaves to go pick up some groceries prior to having Bella’s dad over for a meal and never returns. This is odd for Gary and Bella and Sonya become anxious. When Gary never returns home, Bella reports him missing to the police. Later, his body is discovered and Bella is devastated. Jake and Sonya team up to try and uncover the truth about these two deaths.

This book is full of twists and turns and had me questioning the motive of those involved and how the situations were connected. Be careful who you trust and what you say. Keep your cards close to you.

Swipe by Bonnie Traymore and R.G. Belsky is a twisty, fast-paced thriller! I loved the suspense and the storyline centered around dating apps and journalism — it felt fresh and relevant. I’m always a fan of dual perspectives and short chapters, and this book delivered both, making it such a quick and engaging read.

Beyond the thrills, Swipe also explores how all relationships can face challenges and highlights the importance of communication. I didn’t see the ending coming at all, which made it even more satisfying. Overall, it’s a great, easy-to-devour thriller that kept me hooked from start to finish!

This book was gripping for the first 75%. It has a FMC that is doing some accidental vigilante justice that was appealing and a MMC that was pursuing a lead undercover. I liked both Sonya and Jake but they were 2-dimensional at times. I just wanted a bit more of a payoff with the final reveal. Overall a solid thriller with good pacing.
