This was a really enjoyable read with lots of satisfying twists and turns.
A real eye opener about modern dating and dating apps and a reminder to remember that you never truly know who you're talking to online!

Swipe is my first read from Bonnie Traymore and R.G Belsky and it wont be my last!. Swipe intertwines the story of Sonya and Jake. Sonya after one too many bad experiences on the dating apps decides to take revenge on the lying cheating men. Jake is a down on his luck Pulitzer winning journalist forced to write a story about dating apps. While on the dates, Jake’s story takes a darker turn when he discovers that men from the site are being harassed and murdered. For me this was a fast paced read that kept my attention and I had to stay up to finish the book. The twists and turns kept me guessing till the very end of the book. After reading this book, I glad to say that experiences with dating apps was much better than the main characters. Thanks NetGalley for giving me an opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this advanced copy. I love the plot about dating apps and how they can get you into deep trouble. I felt like I was next to the characters trying to figure out what was going on.

This is a convoluted story about dating app sites. The narratives volley back and forth between the key players to identify truth from fiction. It is an entertaining read and bounces around so hang on!

Sonya has a bad experience on a date and decides to get revenge on future bad dates. One day, she takes it too far and a man falls to his death during their confrontation. Jake Parker, a reporter, is assigned to write a piece on dating apps. During a date, a woman reveals she went on a date with the man who had fallen to his death, which leads him to jump to the conclusion there is a woman killing men from one of the apps.

Unfortunately, this book was not for me. I found the writing style to be juvenile and extremely repetitive. 60% of the storyline was not cohesive. None of the romantic connections had depth or made sense. Additionally, I disliked the way Sonya was written, as unintelligent and naive. Meanwhile, Jake is somehow making connections behind his found mystery with no clues or leads that would lend his conclusions. The idea that he could find the one woman he’s looking for who likes Shakespeare and traveling in one of the most populous and renowned theater cities in the world is far-fetched. I gave this 2 stars instead of 1 because it was an easy, quick read.

I absolutely loved this book. It was one of those glorious reads that I just couldn't put down. I had questions that would be answered and then I'd have more questions but it all come together nicely. The fact that the 2 main characters were both likeable made it such an easy read as well.

All through this I was adamant it would be 5 stars from me. as you can see, I gave it 4. this was purely for the ending. I don't want to give any spoilers but what I'd hoped and expected to happen, didn't. If I could rate it as 4.5 though I would.

Would definitely recommend and hoping to read more by this author.

I am OBSESSED with the book!!! I love the dating app thriller aspect, that's what really drew me into this book. It was full of suspense & twists - that had me gasping for air. I loved the elements of true crime, mystery & journalism!
Every single side story got woven into the main plot, nothing was forgotten! All of the plotlines from the MMC got woven in with the FMC and it was so cool seeing it play out, it felt like watching a movie.

Real rating: 3.5 stars

Swipe was a very fast-paced, easy-to-read thriller.

It followed Sonya, a woman whose experience with online dating wasn't going too well, and Jake, a former successful journalist whose new writing job wasn't as exciting. As he gets an assignment to cover online dating apps, Jake has to go out there and test it out himself. However, his journalistic senses tells him a new accidental death might've been a murder.

I liked the writing, it was compelling, although Sonya was a bit underdeveloped and I would've liked her to have been more complex.

My main issue with this plot is the fact that the action takes place in New York. New York is filled with crime and one person's accidental death wouldn't have meant anything, and there's no way it would've been casually connected to another death like that. Maybe if the action had taken place in a small town where nothing happened, it would've worked fine.

The twists were interesting, although I feel like Sonya had spilled her secrets to Jake too easily, considering how well-guarded she was.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I love me a good thriller and Swipe definitely did not disappoint!

There were so many twists and turns, when i thought i knew what was going on something else would happen.

If you’re a dating app user then you may not be after reading this..

If you fancy a fast pace thriller with lots of twists and turns then Swipe is definitely for you!

I like thrillers a lot but this one was exceptional. This is one l'd buy to have a physical copy of. This is one that I read in the span of an evening because I couldn't stop. Sonya, having some trust issues due to her family, uses a dating app to confront and expose married men while Jake, a reporter, does a story on dating apps.
Murders and secrets abound and Jake wants to truth to break back into being a star reporter. I don't usually come across thrillers with chapters that show the male main characters point of view and I really enjoyed it. As a "person" I don't like Jake (he really wants to be famous- gross) and I have some questions about the ending and Sonya’s future (I don’t trust him, Sonya!!!) but really-buy this one when it's released. It's GOOD

“Swipe” is exactly what I look for in a thriller! Great characters, unexpected twists and no unanswered questions. Nothing is more satisfying than when I don’t guess any twists, and with Swipe, I was on the edge of my seat for the entire book. The pacing is perfect and draws you right in. Both main characters are well developed and I found myself routing for both of them! Both had their flaws but I love imperfections in main characters, I think it makes them more human and relatable. I really enjoyed Swipe and seeing the dark side of online dating.

This was my first book by R.G. Belsky and Bonnie Traymore. SWIPE shows a glimpse of the online dating world, the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Fast-paced, quick read with plenty of twists and a great ending.

I really enjoyed it.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.

Rounding up. Solid 3.5 stars! This was a dual POV between Sonya, who is new to the dating app world; these dates are going terribly and Jake, a reporter who is writing a story about dating apps. Jake doesn’t want to write a story about dating apps but when he starts connecting dots between dating apps and a murder he becomes invested. I was suspicious of every single person in this book and had several theories and I was still mostly wrong so the plot twist was definitely shock. Honestly if the pacing was a little better this would have been an easy 4 stars. The first 70% I was curious but not fully sucked in. The last 30% of it was perfectly paced. I didn’t want to put it down. I received an advance review copy, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Twisty, thrilling and fast paced. Everything I love about a thriller.
After a string of unfortunate dates through a dating app, Sonya is sick of matching with men who are secretly married with children. So she decides to confront one of them, matt, but after falling to his death off a cliff Sonya flees the scene.
POV 2: Jake is a journalist trying to get a big scoop to try and get his old job back. His assignment is to find out what’s going on in dating apps and write a story about it, but to figure it out he needs to start dating on the apps.
Sonya and Jake cross paths and Jake starts to think that there is a serial killer targeting people on dating apps. Together Sonya and Jake will have to work together to try and get to the bottom of everything that’s going on. But what will is cost them? Will they both come out alive?
I adored this book! It was captivating, I didn’t want to put it down, it held my attention the whole time and I couldn’t wait to get to the end and find out what was going on. I felt the story was wrapped up perfectly. 4.5 ✨ thank you so much for approving me for the arc! I had the best time reading this

I had the pleasure of reading an advance reader copy (ARC) of Swipe, which is set to be released on May 1st, 2025 and wow, what a ride!

This fast-paced thriller had me hooked from the very beginning. The writing is incredibly smart, with a plot full of twists and turns that kept me guessing the entire time. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, the story took a sharp left turn with an ending I did not see coming.

The characters were well developed and believable, each one layered in a way that made them feel real. Fans of Freida McFadden will absolutely devour this book. It has that same addictive, page-turning energy.

I can easily picture Swipe being made into a movie. It has the suspense, the pacing, and the psychological depth to translate beautifully on screen.

A solid 4-star read that I’d recommend to any thriller lover!

This was a fast paced, edge of your seat, keep you guessing thriller! I loved how it took something like internet dating on an app and made it terrifying! Makes you think about what you do in your day to day life that can be traced. I did guess the "who" about 62% into the book but the rest had my jaw on the floor at the end so definitely don't let that deter you. I absolutely loved this book and so happy I was able to read this one before release date!

I have really got into my thriller reads recently, so the moment I read the description for this book I just knew I had to read it!.

Swipe is a fantastic, modern day thriller that focuses on the growing use of dating apps, and honestly, this book had me captivated right from the very start. Told via a dual narration, you really get a deep dive into this story and see it unfold from various angles... and my goodness did it keep me guessing!.

I really enjoyed this one, and I will definitely be recommending it to my fellow thriller lovers!

I picked up this book because I love a good revenge story—especially one where a woman is dishing it out to cheating married men. And honestly, the premise is great! Sonya is fed up with dating app creeps, and after one particularly gross encounter, things go way too far. Suddenly, a guy ends up dead, and she’s caught in a spiral she never intended.

Then there’s Jake, a down-on-his-luck journalist trying to turn a fluff piece into something big. His storyline was actually pretty fun—going on bizarre app dates and slowly realizing there might be something more sinister happening. I liked the tension between him and Sonya, especially once they start crossing paths.

But while the idea was strong and the pacing kept things moving, I felt like the character development was a little weak. Sonya’s motivations for going full vigilante felt vague—there’s a mention of her childhood, but not enough to really understand her actions. I wanted to connect with her more, or at least get a clearer sense of why she was doing what she was doing.

That said, it’s a fast read, and even though I figured out the twist early, I still enjoyed seeing it unfold. If you're into twisty dating app thrillers with a side of revenge, it’s worth a shot—just don’t expect super deep characters.
