A complex tale which will fascinate those intrigued by the Siberian / Russian history & culture. I found it somewhat lengthy and overtly complex to be enjoyed as well as appreciated.

This was a really long book and I felt the translation into English needed some more work as some of the sentences were too long and did not make sense.
I did not feel like I was reading a fiction book and struggled with the plot.
I am grateful for the opportunity to read this book but it sadly was not for me.

This book superficially ticked quite a few boxes for me when I read the preview.
Maths, science ,asteroid landing on earth, and alternative futures.
But it was not for me. I am not sure how many pages long it is but when I started reading it on my Kindle Fire tablet , the indicator said I had over 60 hours reading time left! This may have been slightly inaccurate but after reading 10% of the book I still had 40 hours reading time left. And the text only took up about 50% of the expected space as the margins were much wider than usual. Not sure if this was a Kindle anomaly or intentional by the publisher.
At first I quite liked the rambling monologues and style of writing but it quickly became tiresome with repeated questioning of basic beliefs of life and logic. And when I saw how slowly the percentage read was creeping up , I realised there was no way I could read the whole book. I think I did well reading 10%. A novel for the literary purists I think.
Thanks to NetGalley and Head of Zeus for the ARC

Hello,
I just wanted to let you know that the file appears to be corrupted—the text is split into two horizontal columns and shows up as unreadable gibberish. I'm still giving it five stars, as I’ve read the book before and truly enjoy the author’s work.
Please consider fixing the file before sending it to other readers.
Thank you!
I'm absolutely thrilled to see my favourite Polish author finally translated into English—and by my favourite publisher, no less! Pure joy!
Here’s what you need to know about this book: it’s not an easy read, and you’ll want to set aside plenty of time for it. It took me about a year to finish, and I’m still convinced I missed a lot. This isn’t one of those light, breezy stories you can race through in a couple of hours. It demands your full attention, an open mind, and a steady focus.
That said, it’s one of those rare books where—even if you don’t fully understand it, or even fully enjoy it—you know you’re holding something extraordinary.
