Thank you Boldwood and NetGalley for an ARC of this book.

Shari Low is a new author for me and I really enjoyed their latest new book

Set in both 1990’s Hong Kong and then 2025 ‘One more day of us’ is based on three singers, Moria, Carina and Lisa. The girls sing in Hong Kong and enjoy all there is to offer and a fabulous, fun filled friendship , until sadly Moria is required to leave .

Wondering how life would be if they reunited, Moria returns to Hong Kong in 2025. The story reveals their reunion and so much more. Unravelling the bonds of friendship this was a fabulous read.

I look forward to reading previous books by the author.
Thank you for this ARC.

I’ve now decided, if Shari Low writes it, then I’m going to read it. She is one of the best. I absolutely adore her books and this one did not disappoint.

I enjoyed meeting up with some of the characters that we had met in previous novels, and watching their stories develop. I could visualise and even imagine hearing Moira, Carina and Lisa singing back in the day.

Laughter and tears, this is a 5 star recommendation from me.

Moira has been singing in bars ,clubs and cruise ships for over thirty years not knowing what she would do if she retired.. Ollie is Moira's son and a film star but his roots are firmly stuck back in his home town of Glasgow.
With Moira's agent he is opening a school of music and dance for children in the area who wouldn't be able to afford posh dance school fees and Moira will be teaching there.

Before she starts Moira wants to reunite with two friends she worked with over thirty years ago singing in a hotel in Hong Kong. They were different people then, young free and single. Moira has been in touch with them now and again through the years but they have never seen each other.

An invitation has been sent to Carina and Lisa asking them to meet Moira at the hotel they performed at in Hong Kong but even if they don't turn up Moira still wants this one last walk through her past before she starts her new teaching venture. Will she have to do it alone or will her friends be sharing the memories with her?

1990 in Hong Kong we go back to when the girls first met and what their lives were like singing in the hotel.
I don't want to give too much of the story away so you'll just have to read it.

This book was different to the last few I've read by Shari Low in that it wasn't set over 24hrs. I think she so clever writing a story within that time frame.
However this book was so good, very funny, emotional and tear jerking at times.
I recognised Moira and her son Ollie from the last book and it was so good to learn more about their lives.
I enjoyed the rapport that Moira had with Carina these two are hilarious and would love to see them pop into another book in the future. You can never lose good characters like them.
I always enjoy Shari Low's books but I had a real book hangover after this one and it's been so hard staring another.
Fabulous read !

Moira is hanging up her microphone after singing on cruise ships for decades. Not sure what her life holds now, she returns to Hong Kong to reignite the spark she found there thirty five years ago. She invited Carina and Lisa who she met out there that summer in the hope that they could also rekindle their friendship.

This book is about female friendships and it was great seeing the dynamic between these women at two different chapters of their lives. We get to see how these relationships help support each of them across the years facing different challenges.

Told in a dual timeline as Moira returns to Hong Kong in the present and her and her friends relive the summer that changed their lives thirty five years ago. I really liked that the book was told this way, how we got to see how Moira, Carina and Lisa lived that summer in the 90’s how their friendship was built and the decisions they made changed their future. But we also got to discover the secrets they had been keeping from each other.

This was my first Shari Low book, but I will definitely be picking up more. A great book to add to your summer reading list.

Shari Low has a way envelope you with the stories she tells that you can’t put the book down until the end. Three best friends Moria, Carina and Lisa, singing in a high hotel in Hong Kong thirty four years ago. But life happens and even as they kept in touch they never met again. Until Moira plans a trip down memory and fly for a week to Hing Kong. Can they relive their past, reflect in their lives and find themselves again? A great story. Thanks to NetGalley and Boldwoods for the ARC copy, this is my honest review.

In a story of second chances, the author writes a poignant and uplifting tale of friendship and how every tiny choice impacts our future. There’s two timelines, 1990 and 2025, and both involve the women, Moira, Lisa abs Carina who met as entertainers in Hong Kong. In the 1990s we see their lives playing out and them forming their close bond until Moira suddenly makes a decision that changes their dynamic forever.
Then in the 2025 timeline, Moira retires and decides to go back to Hong Kong and face the ladies she hasn’t seen in decades. So much has changed, including the fact that Lisa has passed, but the daughter they didn’t know she had comes to meet them and they get to know her and Lisa as an adult through her daughter.
Such an emotional story of the power of female friendship and how there are some bonds that can never be broken no matter the time or distance.
Thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for this eArc in exchange for my review.

I always know I’m in safe hands when I pick up a Shari Low novel, and One More Day of Us didn’t disappoint. From the first chapter, I was pulled straight into the emotional whirlwind she does so well — a story packed with warmth, humour, and just the right touch of nostalgia.
The structure alternates between present and past, and I have to say, I found myself really drawn to the flashback chapters. There was something extra compelling about revisiting the earlier lives of the characters, though those moments only popped up once every few chapters — I’d have happily read more of them. Still, the pacing never felt off, and it all came together beautifully.
The characters, as always, were brilliantly written. They felt real — layered, flawed, and often hilarious. That said, I did struggle a little to picture a younger Moira; she was so vividly portrayed in her older years that I couldn’t quite reframe her as a girl in her twenties. My brain just wouldn’t let go of the image of her as a sprightly pensioner!
It was such a treat to spot a few familiar names from earlier books — those little nods always make me smile. Shari has built this lovely connected world that makes each new story feel like a reunion of sorts.
A heartwarming, funny, and moving read. Perfect for curling up with and getting lost in for a few hours. Loved it.

Moria is about to start a new phase of her life, and she decides to revisit her past, hopefully with the two women who were once so close to her when they all worked in Hong Kong in 1990. Told from multiple viewpoints and in two timelines, this is an emotional coming-of-age story and one of second chances. The Hong Kong setting gives the story a unique perspective, and the female protagonists are multi-faceted and easy to invest in. I enjoyed meeting familiar and new characters who are relatable and complex. The story is emotional and heartwarming and has the connection with time that defines this author's stories and one she does so well. It is an engaging mix of humour, poignancy, and romance that draws you in and keeps you reading to see what happens to these people to whom you can relate.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher.

This was such a poignant story and very uplifting. It explored friendship in a beautiful way and in a beautiful place. It’s funny how our life choices can change the future and how complex they can be at times. Is there room for second chances? In this story, Low weaves two tales, one in 1990 and one in 2025. Both timelines are about Moira, Carina and Lisa. Three singers who were together all those years ago in Hong Kong.

In the earlier timeline, the three young ladies are living their lifelong dream, singing in a fancy hotel bar. They have an incredibly close bond until Moria makes a decision that changes them and their lives forever. When we get to 2025, Moria retires and goes back to Hong Kong to face a reunion with Carina and Lisa. The author clearly shows how much the ladies have changed, inside and out, but she also shows how nostalgia can bring grace. The characters are well-thought-out individuals, and their emotions are at the forefront. We find out the hows and whys of their relationships and the circumstances that helped shape these ladies. I was completely invested in them.

This was a book that celebrates female friendships and the ties that bind us. We shouldn’t be afraid to chase our dreams or confront the past. It reminded me that even after years of being apart, the bonds of true friendship never break. What I took away from this story was the fact that we should be brave and not be afraid to take on something new. Highly recommended to those who love women’s fiction, which will tug at your heartstrings and include moments of humour, heartbreak, and hope. I loved the optimism in this one.

I've said it before and I will say it again, if Shari Low writes it, I will read it! I love her characters, her plots, the relationships in her books, and her writing. In One More Day of Us, Shari Low writes about friendships, dreams, love, marriage, heartbreak, family, and finding your voice! This book is told in dual timelines of 1990 and 2025. I found myself both cheering for the characters, feeling for their heartbreak, and happy for their triumphs.

In 1990, Moira, Carina and Lisa are three young women with big dreams. They are singers who perform nightly in a swanky hotel in Hong Kong and party the night away. They are young, carefree, and embracing their youth. This is a pivotal time in each of their lives.

In 2025, Moira has invited Carina and Lisa to join her in Hong Kong for a reunion. They have sent holiday cards and letters over the years, but it will be the first time in 30 years since they have all been together.

I enjoyed this tale of friendship and enjoyed looking back with the women in this book. Thirty years is a long time, and the women have grown and changed in various ways. This book looks at dreams, love, loss, music, family, choices, and how all those things shaped their lives.

Shari Low writes characters that I grow to care about. She has a knack for writing about relationships and personal growth that really appeals to me. Her characters feel realistic and like individuals I would want to spend time with.

Wonderfully written, well thought out, charming, and hard to put down!

1990: In a hot, humid Hing Kong summer, three young singers are loving life, performing to packed crowds every night in a packed swanky hotel bar. Twenty-three-year-old songbird, Moira Chiles is living the dream alongside Carina Llyod and Lisa Dixson.. They work hard, play hard and always stick together.... until one day Maria makes a choice that changes everything.

2025: In a wet, chilly Glasgow summer, Moira has just retired after singing in Glasgow pubs and Caribbean cruise ships for three decades. Now she's ready for a new adventure - one that takes her to Hong Kong to revisit a world she left behind, Moira hasn't seen Carina or Lisa for over thirty years, but will an invitation to go on a holiday of a lifetime rekindle the friendships that changed her life?

Moira, Carina and Lisa used to sing together in Hong Hong. But Moira wanted a solo career. Now, Moira has retired and wants to make amends with her friends.

The story has a dual timeline that's told in the past and present day format. The characters are well-portrayed. We learn about the three women's lives. This book will mess with your emotions.

In this book we catch up with some of the characters first met in One Day and Forever, as well as meeting some new ones. Now, you don't need to read ODaF to enjoy this one but, if you are intending to read it, cos you should as it's brilliant, you'll need to read it before this one as this one follows on from some of the shenanigans therein.
So... in this book we follow Moira Chiles as she is about to start a new chapter in her life, having retired from the pub and cruise ship singing game, she is soon to be heading up the local theatre school her son has just set up. She is feeling rather nostalgic for the early days and so, to fill in the time, she wants to go back to where it all started for her. To Hong Kong, where she first sang on stage as a rather naive 20 something year old. To do this properly, she also write to invite the two best friends she made at that time, Carina and Lisa, who she hasn't seen for over 30 years, communication limited to the odd card / letter.
Meanwhile, as the action plays out in the present, and I am going to leave you to discover all that for yourself, off we go back to the 90s to Hong Kong. To witness Carina, Lisa, and Moira as they meet, get to know each other, and well... again, leaving that for you to discover...
Now, as well as having a blast reading how the past and present connect for all the characters, the main thing I really really loved about this book was the trip down memory lane that I took along with the girls. I lived and worked in HK between 97 and 2001 - there for the 97 handover - and I have never been back since. So it was absolutely wonderfully nostalgic reading about all the places I remember from back then. So much so that, at the end of the book I was actually googling flights to Chek Lap Kok... I really want to go back!
Suffice to say that, as with all her previous books, I loved this one just as much. Her characters are brilliantly crafted, easy to connect to, and all play their parts very well. They are the sort of characters that you would love to go on a night out with! Their stories are all things emotional - the highs and lows. Pleasure and pain, and all feel completely real. I went through everything with them, every step of the way.
In fact, the only bad thing about the book is having to say goodbye to them at the end. But, hopefully, one or more will pop up again in a future book. I'm pretty sure they have much more to give and I would love to see how they are getting on past the end of this book...
My thanks go to the Publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read this book.

It was 2025 when Moira Chiles of Glasgow, decided the time was finally right. She wanted to get her friends back together; the friends she joined back in 1990 when they sang in pubs and bars in Hong Kong, well-loved and popular. It was a time that memories were made of - six months of love, laughter, fun and wild abandon. She had sent the invitations to both Lisa and Carina, whom she hadn't seen for around thirty years. Would they come? Would they join her for a look down memory lane?

Carina had just had a life shattering moment when she recalled Moira's invitation and instantly knew that was the answer. She immediately booked her flight and headed for Hong Kong. Lisa had also received the invitation and decided, hell yes, she was going. Would a week's holiday in a place that held such vivid memories be the right choice? Or would those memories hold heartache and secrets?

One More Day of Us is another spectacular book by Shari Low. Love and loss, friendship that survives the years, heartache and ultimately, second chances fill One More Day of Us and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The three women, whose Hong Kong lives began in similar fashion, ended up being vastly different. But their friendship remained. Highly recommended.

With thanks to NetGalley & Boldwood Books for my digital ARC to read and review.

So good!

Unlike the other books in this loosely connected series, the majority of the story takes place in Hong Kong, in 2 time frames, present and 34 years ago. Moira, who we've met in past books, has retired from her life as a cruise ship entertainer. She's getting ready to turn 60, and wants a chance to revisit her first real job out of the country, a singing role she did in Hong Kong, along with 2 other women who became her best friends, but haven't seen in many years. She invites them both and hopes for the best.

The rest of the book is a trip down memory lane in Hong Kong for Moira, Carina and one other unexpected guest. They share remembrances, visit old hangouts and manage to work through some emotional and physical challenges throughout the trip. Questions are answered and some unknowns are revealed before returning to the UK and Moira's next chapter there.

I enjoyed the deep friendship shared and grown in this book. I liked how the ladies really didn't try "acting their age", didn't let themselves get boxed into the expectations of others. I hope that there's another book in the series that will include more of Ollie and his new love.

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

Shari Low’s One More Day of Us is a sweeping tale of friendship, music, and the passage of time set in the vibrant energy of Hong Kong in 1990. The story told through dual timelines, 1990 and 2025. Rich with themes of passion and nostalgia, One More Day of Us offers a reflection on everyone’s first relationships in adulthood. Most of us can relate to our very first true friendships but very few of us keep them throughout our lives. Low does a masterful job at describing the characters and why their brief time in Hong Kong was unforgettable.

The novel begins in 1990 Hong Kong, setting a lively stage for readers with vivid imagery of the bustling city. Here, we meet twenty-three-year-old Maura, Carina, and Lisa, three singers performing at a classy hotel bar for an enthusiastic crowd. These young women, despite their different backgrounds, are united by their passion for music and an exhilarating sense of freedom.

Shari Low’s descriptions of Hong Kong during this time are mesmerizing, immersing readers in the heat and lively atmosphere of the city. The cacophony of street vendors, the neon lights illuminating the night, and the humid air thick with possibility all come alive on the page. Low masterfully captures their adventurous yet carefree spirit as the women live life to the fullest during their six-month stint. However, as the summer progresses, cracks begin to appear in their idyllic existence.

When their contracts come up for renewal, a pivotal decision must be made. Maura, eager to chase a solo career, decides to leave Hong Kong for new opportunities, while Carina and Lisa also feel the pull of other responsibilities. This departure introduces an intriguing layer of regret to their storyline, casting doubt on whether their parting was too hasty.
Fast forward 35 years, and One More Day of Us, where the characters have aged and moved in vastly different directions. Maura recently returned home after a career that spans cruise ships and pubs, fueled by an unyielding love for music. Carina is now grappling with the end of her seemingly perfect marriage after discovering her husband’s betrayal. Meanwhile, Lisa, the most talented, has lived a very mundane life wishing to be out of the spotlight, making sure her daughter, Stevie, does the same.

Most of the novel is told through the perspectives of Maura, Carina, and Stevie. Maura's narrative offers a reflective, almost wistful outlook after decades of pursuing her singing passion in a less glamorous world than she once imagined. Carina’s story introduces tension as she navigates the fallout of her marriage and rediscovers a sense of self. Stevie provides the balance between the past and present, allowing the strong friendships of 1990 to resonate across generations. What happened to her mother? Why did she just hide away? What secrets did she hide?

Where One More Day of Us truly has an exciting and engaging start. The 1990 sections of the novel are painted with rich, sensory language that pulls readers directly into the story. You can almost taste the food, feel the heat on your skin, and hear the applause for the friends’ performances. It’s a joy to experience the characters’ carefree days and see Hong Kong through their youthful eyes.

However, the ending does not live up to the powerful beginnings. Without giving too much away, the final chapters veer toward overly sentimental territory, creating an ending that feels more fitting for a Hollywood movie. The emotional impact that builds throughout the book is dampened by an ending that appears too neatly tied together, leaning on clichés rather than complexity.

While there are clear moments of brilliance in the novel's writing and characterizations, readers hoping for an ending that reflects the complexity of the characters’ journeys may leave them feeling bittersweet. For those who enjoy immersive stories about friendship and second chances (and don’t mind a touch of sentimentalism), this book still holds plenty of charm. Fans of lighthearted women’s fiction will find warmth and relatability in these pages.

Would I recommend this book? Absolutely, though with tempered expectations. Prepare to be swept away by the writings of Low, depicting the beauty of 1990 Hong Kong and the emotional ties of enduring friendship—even if the ending doesn’t fully deliver on its early promise.

Thank you to Netgalley and Boldwood Books for the Advanced Readers Copy of the book. All opinions are my own.

As a huge fan of Shari Low, I had high expectations for this book—and it absolutely didn’t disappoint. The plot is wonderfully unique, centering on three friends who reunite 35 years after their youth, only to find things unfolding in ways none of them could have imagined. The story shifts between 1990s Hong Kong and the present day, and the transitions are handled so smoothly that it really enhances the emotional depth. While I recognized a few characters from a previous book, this one works perfectly as a standalone. It’s a heartwarming read full of love, family, and the enduring strength of female friendship.

An absolute cracker of a book -
This book was like the holiday I didn't know I needed - it was so far removed from my own life that I just lost myself in the world Shari Low drew out on the pages before me.. As always with Shari's books the characters are very relatable. We are taken on the trip of a lifetime to Hong Kong, where Moira has planned a re-union with two of the best friends from her youth that over the years she's lost touch with. It turns out that only one can take up the offer, the other has passed away, but instead, her daughter arrives to learn more about her mother - the three women embark on an exploration of friendship, memories and of course, secrets - this is a hugely uplifting read perfect for a sunny afternoon in the back garden - you will not need to leave the deck chair to feel as if you've been on a real vacation!
Thanks to the publishers for the opportunity to read this book.

Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

I loved reading this book, and it was hard to put down.

This is a dual timeline story.

It’s 1990 in Hong Kong, Moira, Carina and Lisa are professional singers. They sing in hotels and enjoy their freedom, living their best lives, partying, sightseeing and having fun.

Now, in Glasgow, 2025 Moira, who has spent her life singing on cruise ships and pubs makes a decision that after 30 years, it’s now time to stop and do the one thing she’s always wanted to do, and that is go back to Hong Kong where her life started.

She invites Cara and Carina, but do they too head back, and see where it all began?

When she arrives in the same place her life started, Carina turns up too, but, instead of Lisa, her daughter Stevie turns up. She informs them that Lisa is no more.

She wants to know more about her mother and see what she used to do, the places she saw.

But, after the years the three friends spent together, now past secrets are revealed and Stevie may have more to ask than she thought.

I loved the setting, the characters and it made you feel as though you were there in Hong Kong with the girls.

I couldn’t put this book down.

I highly recommend this book.
