This was a super fun and light read! If, like me, you can't decide whether you prefer Christmas or Halloween, I found this book a perfect blend between the two, like a Hallmark holiday movie but with quirky vampire antics.
The story begins with Tiffenie (with i-e!!), a three hundred year old vampire who's still figuring things out, who inherits an inn that is in complete disrepair, from a relative of the Tiffany (with y!!) whose identity she's using. Not to mention that she's accidentally sired a new vampire.
I really enjoyed following Tiffenie and her struggles of being a vegan vampire, going to therapy, trying to fix the inn, and navigating through this new place where people of Valentine seem to have known the real Tiffany. Normally I'm put off by a multitude of pop culture references, especially in a fantasy or paranormal book, but I think the modern aspects of real life worked well with the humour and satire in Undead and Unwed, giving the vampires all these odd quirks that you would expect an ancient being to have in our present day.

Undead and Unwed by Sam Tschida is like biting into a candy cane with a surprise center—festive, a little bloody, and totally unexpected. It blends Hallmark holiday charm with supernatural sass, delivering a quirky, vampire-filled rom-com that doesn’t take itself too seriously—except when it sneakily does.
Tiffenie-with-an-i-e is not your typical vampire heroine. She’s snarky, self-aware, and determined to live her (after)life on her own terms—free from outdated vampire politics and definitely free from her manipulative ex, Vlad. After an “oops” moment involving a dead neighbor (who doesn’t stay dead for long), Tiffenie and her newly turned accidental bestie relocate to a snowy small town in Vermont. What follows is a blend of cozy holiday vibes, identity mishaps, sexy-but-suspicious neighbors, and mysterious pasts that unravel just in time for the Christmas lights to twinkle.
This book is as much about female agency and reinvention as it is about vampire lore. Tiffenie is trying to find her footing in a world that has rules she never agreed to—both as a woman and as a creature of the night. Her resistance to being boxed into a role—by Vlad, by society, or by the black-market identity she’s purchased—is refreshing and oddly relatable, undead status aside.
While I had a lot of fun reading this, I did wish some of Tiffenie’s backstory and the plot surrounding Tiffany-with-a-y’s mysterious past had been fleshed out more. There were moments that begged for a deeper dive, but the story kept things light and breezy—sometimes to a fault.
Who Should Read It?
-Paranormal rom-coms
-Found family hijinks
-Christmas settings
-Witty heroines and light satire
-Small-town coziness with a supernatural twist
Final Verdict
A fun, fast-paced holiday read with vampires, identity theft, and a generous dose of festive chaos. Perfect for anyone who loves Christmas romance but wishes it came with more blood, sass, and bite. Definitely recommended if you want something offbeat and entertaining this holiday season.
Grateful to NetGalley, Quirk Books and Sam Tschida for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this story in exchange for an honest review.

Ohhh how I loved the idea of this book ! It was all my favorites wrapped into one. Tiffenie was a hot mess and had so many years to get herself together. I thought the idea of the hallmark movies would be a cute little addition but the obsession was too much. I do feel like there were quite a few plot holes and things that were left unanswered. I will still purchase because I did think it was a fun read.

A very fresh and interesting take on a Vampire story! It gives you everything you want from a hallmark movie and more!

This Romcom is utterly entertaining. It's the perfect mix of all Hallmark Christmas movies, interview with a vampire and Bridget Jones.
Tiffenie has only been a vampire for 300 years and still needs to figure out how she wants to live her life forever. There's a very sexy love triangle drama going on, an old bed and breakfast that needs renovations and the whole town has the same therapist what ever could go wrong? I love the small town charm, the self discovery and how the story progressed.
It's funny, it's Christmassy, it's entertaining, get ready for undead and unwed

loved this romance and finding oneself and being a vampire. loved Tiffanie and her roommate and that she found some love with her ex Vlad and that she ran away to Vermont and made friends and started getting therapy. loved all the references to romance and hallmark.

You know those stories about suave, educated vampires that are rich and worldly and have houses around the world? This is not one of those! After 300 years she still can't accept being a vampire and is still trying to get it together - an unexpected road trip to Vermont gets the ball rolling to self discovery and yea a HEA all around. A fun and entertaining read, you know, a vampire romcom ...

If Bridget Jones was undead, obsessed with Hallmark movies, and saddled with a snarky cat and a Christmas tree farmer love interest, you'd get Tiffenie Ruba; a 300-year-old vampire who’s still figuring it all out.
And honestly? Same, girl.
Set in the charmingly fictional Valentine, Vermont, this book serves cozy small-town vibes with a deliciously absurd twist: mistaken identity, accidental vamp-turning, and the return of her very old (and very ex) master, Vlad.
The love triangle was entertaining, but it’s really Tiffenie’s bumbling, dry-humoured narration that steals the show.
🖤 What I enjoyed:
* Sharp, self-deprecating humour with What We Do in the Shadows energy
* The cottagecore-meets-creature-feature setting
* Cozy chaos and heart beneath the satire
If you’re in the mood for a rom-com with literal bite, a hot farmer, and a vampire heroine who’s hilariously overdue for a glow-up, Undead and Unwed hits the jugular just right.

I was lucky enough to win an e-ARC of UNDEAD AND UNWED by Sam Tschida from a Shelf Awareness/Publisher's Weekly giveaway. Thank you for the early look, and have a safe and happy summer!

If Bridget Jones was a vampire, that would be her life.
This is my opinion on this book : Anyone looking for a book with a funny / trying really hard FMC but with a twist, this one is perfect without any doubt. It's a good christmas / halloween book for people like me that enjoy romance when it has a little something more than just two boring humans falling in love with each other.

In Undead and Unwed by Sam Tschida this cozy holiday novel follows Tiffenie Ruba—a 300‑year‑old vampire still struggling with basic life skills. After inheriting a fixer‑upper inn in Valentine, Vermont, she seizes the opportunity to reboot her undead existence in true Hallmark-movie style. She has a deep love for Hallmark movies and a knack for chaos. She's the kind of heroine who feels like your hilarious, slightly unhinged best friend. Her journey from hot mess to hopeful innkeeper is full of laugh-out-loud moments, awkward romance, and just enough vampire drama to keep things spicy. Sam Tschida has a gift for blending heart and hilarity, and this book is a cozy, chaotic gem. If you’ve ever wanted a Hallmark movie with fangs, this is it.

This was a breezy read for fans of light romantic comedies and the aesthetics of Vampires. It played with clichés well and was unabashedly cheerful.

Undead and unwed wants to be a hallmark Christmas movie, but with vampires.
Tiffanie-with-an-ie has been a vampire for about 300 years, but hasn’t really managed to be a competent vampire yet. She seems to like hallmark movies, works nights and is kinda just… existing.
The most recent identity she brought via the black market is for a woman named Tiffany. Tiffany-with-a-y inherits a condemned b&b in Vermont, and due to circumstances, she and her neighbour end up moving there just in time for Christmas. Cue the sexy neighbour, the sexy ex, and the small town everyone knows everyone neighbours. The problem - Tiffany-with-a-y had a mysterious past that Tiffanie now needs to try and figure out what happened, while hoping that no one else figures out she is an interloper… cue the shenanigans.

This book was such a cozy and funny read and I absolutely loved it! The main characters felt very relatable (even though they are vampires!) and it felt like something that would actually happen to someone in real life rather than some of the vampire books which go down the more fictitious route. The romance was great and was overall a feel good book!

Sorry to say, had to DNF. The tone and pacing was just off. It commits, but for me a little too twee, a little too self-satisfied. Just did not enjoy it.

Cute and clique. This book really is Bridget Jones Diary with vampires . I haven't What read or watched We Do in The Shadows to know if it also very much like that as it claims. It reads like a Hallmark movie, and even though it would be better, as such, it wasn't a bad book either.

Since this is an early copy there are a few minor things that needs correcting but I believe that will be done before release so I it will not be reflected on this review.
I had a lot of fun reading this. Tiffenie (with i-e) ;) is just trying to live her life as a vampire, and a woman, without being forced to fall in line with the vampire rules that was set centuries ago. But it´s not easy and her ex Vlad is constantly trying to sway her over. After a minor incident, like accidentally killing her neighbour and turning her in to a vampire, they move to Vermont to start over and get some sort of normal life. Trying to find love and friends is not easy for a lone wolf vampire.
The main events in this book takes place during christmas season and it´s really a Hallmark movie with a twist. At first I wasn´t sure if the book aimed to be more of a parody but it has more substance than that. Some parts of Tiffenies background story is a bit unclear, questions goes unanswered. I would like to give it a 3,5, it´s not quite 4 stars for me but I enjoyed it and it´s a really good alternative if you like christmas romance but think they are usually too sappy.
