Firstly I want to thank NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book!

When I got this book I was really excited as I knew it would be a perfect holiday read. With it being a short book, novella.

River and Isaac start of in a little meet-cute. Being sat next to eachother on a plane. The two instant tropes were grumpy x sunshine and enemies to lovers. With them instantly not getting on, but gradually over time, becoming more excited to meet each other on the plane. Little mishaps happen on the plane with other passengers but they fly through it.

With the random spelling mistake and some repeats of words through the book. I loved it.

From humor to heart, In Flight takes emotion to new heights. Adams proves that simplicity can be an endearing complication. With every turn of the page, more than a hint of sweetness shines through.

The sweetest novella I ever did read!

River & Issac were the softest yet sassiest pair. Thrilled with how their relationship played out - despite it being formed in a bubble the trajectory felt very organic and real. Super supportive of each other and I love that they were very honest with their advice about the other’s life outside the plane interactions.

And lawd this was surprisingly HOT. It was quite wholesome up until a certain point then BAM, very satisfying spicy times. I was not complaining.

Just a perfect slice of life.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for this lovely ARC.

This was unfortunately not what I expected. A solid 3 stars, because I do still think that it's good, it's just that the main characters' interaction and banter didn't hit the mark for me. Maybe I just wasn't connecting with them. But I do love the idea of an enemies-to-lovers, forced-proximity, and airport romcom.

Airline connection.

River and Isaac have preferred seats on a plane that flies from Savannah to Boston on Fridays and back on Sundays. When they first meet there is an instant animosity between them. Neither is willing to move their seat so they are stuck next to each other on these flights for the next three months. As time goes by, and they begrudgingly get to know one another, a spark ignites.

I enjoyed reading about River and Isaac and (at first) their mutual dislike that leads to understanding and then more. It was a quick jump from not being able to tolerate one another to mad love, but I do love it when the grumpy and standoffish man realizes what is right in front of him. I liked watching River learn to stand up for herself with her family and go after what she wants. This was a quick and enjoyable read.

4.75🌟!
Who doesn’t love an amazing Airplane romance?
I finished this book in one sitting and absolutely loved it.

From the beginning to the end I was so entertained with Grumpy Isaac and his sunshine River. They were completely opposite to each other but they had this amazing and unique connection. You could clearly see Isaac was unable to resist her charm from the first meeting itself.
What I enjoyed the most was, how good they were for each other. They communicated well had mutual respect.
Overall a short, cute and fun romance.

Safe and recommended.

Romance readers, you need to read this novella. River and Isaac's story is so adorable. I could totally see the story being adapted into a movie. This was so much fun to read. I can't wait to read more by Noelle Adams.

I loved the idea of this book but this really lacked for me.
Isaac had nothing about him and River was just blah.
There was no chemistry at all and honestly, I was really bored.

OMG What an absolutely beautiful story! So sweet and cute! River and Isaac are just adorable. This is a short ultra-addictive novella that takes place mostly in a plane. I found this original and funny. There are steamy moments and I like them a lot. I'm a fan of men who can express their feelings and Isaac surprised me in the best possible way.
I highly recommend this story!

Thankyou @netgalley , @victoryeditingngc, and @noelleadamsauthor for a review copy ☺️

This book was a quick, easy, and thoroughly enjoyable romantic read. The premise is both intriguing and swoon-worthy—imagine being seated next to the same person on multiple flights, only to find yourself falling hopelessly in love along the way.

Isaac and River were fantastic characters—funny, witty, and delightfully sarcastic. Their banter was engaging, though the dialogue felt a bit repetitive at first. I’ll admit, River (the FMC) frustrated me at times, but as the story unfolded, I found her hesitations relatable. The push-and-pull of her emotions made her journey feel authentic, and I appreciated that she took the time to figure out what she truly wanted.

One of the things I loved most about Isaac was how patient and respectful he was. He never pressured River into making a decision before she was ready, instead giving her the space she needed to come to her own conclusions—something that made their romance feel all the more genuine.

Overall, this was a charming, heartfelt read that kept me entertained from start to finish. Perfect for anyone looking for a light, fun romance with just the right amount of emotional depth and spice!

I was expecting to love this especially because I have a strong connection to airport romances. It fell flat for me :/ I wish there was more romance. & more passion. There's not really much to say about it. It was cute, but nothing to write home about for me.

This is a fun novella! Two people with so many quirks, find themselves sitting next to each other on their flights back and forth from Boston to Savannah. River is an artsy free spirit and Isaac is a predictable finance guy, but somehow they just seem to connect.

River gets completely used by her family but doesn’t stand up for herself until Isaac helps her see what’s going on. Isaac is not connecting with his girlfriend from back home, and River saw it before he realized it.

Sense and Sensibility...on a plane...

Sitting in the last row in the window seat, River Kennedy is stuck sitting next to the man who returns her sketchbook, Isaac Becker. They deduce a lot about each other, him using logic and she using intuition. River is a bit OCD, a bit on the spectrum. Isaac has things to prove, they both are casually dating other people. But weekend after weekend, they sit next to each other on the flights from Boston to Savannah and vice versa.

I really enjoyed this read, it flies by, pun intended, as these two start out not liking each other to really liking each other.
Recommend.

✈️🤍 RIVER + ISAAC 🤍✈️

Thank you so much @netgalley and @victoryeditingngc for this wonderful ARC! This is my first read by Noelle Adams and I absolutely enjoyed the humor and relatability in this novella.

River and Isaac immediately triggered the moments between Joe Fox and Kathleen Kelly in You’ve Got Mail. Remember the coffee shop scenes where their banter would go back and forth early in the movie where they were so sure they could read each other? I was always wondering if the next flight they took from Savannah to Boston would be the one where sparks would fly. I highly recommend this sweet and emotional novella.

✈️ Flying from Savannah to Boston every weekend for two months to help my sister with her upcoming wedding would be fine if it weren’t for the obnoxious airplane guy. He has a job in Savannah for a few months and flies home to Boston every weekend, so he’s always on my flights.

Even that might be tolerable if he didn’t always choose the seat right beside me. But he won’t move, and neither will I. So now we’re stuck. Side by side for flight after flight.

After flight.

So what if he’s kind of attractive? And softer than he pretends? His life is in Boston, and mine is not. His career is his priority, and the happy, secure world I’ve worked hard to build for myself in Savannah is mine.

So he’s still the obnoxious airplane guy to me, and no matter how often our paths might cross, that’s all he can ever be.

Noelle Adams always manages to pack a fully formed story into her novellas and In Flight was no different! I think what works the most for me in Adams’ books is that these are regular people and under normal circumstances, they might not have fallen in love and often, neither character is perfect or even particularly likeable. But just because it’s more realistic and down to earth than other romance novels (no quirky jobs or crazy aspirations or wild plot points), doesn’t make it any less swoony. Strangers meeting on a series of flights between Boston and Savannah over the course of several months gives so much close proximity goodness and ample time for tension to build between them.

River and Isaac don’t have a lot in common and they don’t really like each other from the jump. (Though this is more annoyance to love which is fine by me because enemies to lovers isn’t my jam.). It’s a lot of repetitive scenes mid-flight but that’s what works for me in Adams novels. There’s no big plot going on most of the time. Usually just vibes. And the vibes on this one worked for me.

I did wish we got to see more of them off the plane that didn’t involve sex but tbh there was only like two sex scenes that came in pretty late in the story so we really did see most of their time together spent talking without being nakey and I was okay with that here!

In Flight is a charming and heartfelt novella that delivers a well-paced, character-driven romance in a short format. Noelle Adams once again demonstrates her ability to create engaging chemistry and authentic emotional development within a limited word count.

The story follows River and Isaac—two strangers repeatedly seated next to each other on flights—who slowly move from distant politeness to something deeper. Their dynamic is believable and beautifully paced, with each interaction peeling back a little more of their personalities. Isaac, in particular, stands out as a grumpy yet vulnerable love interest, and his emotional arc is handled with subtlety and care.

Despite being a novella, the relationship development feels organic. The banter is strong, the emotional beats are impactful, and the intimacy is well-balanced without feeling rushed. This is a quick, satisfying read perfect for fans of contemporary romance, especially those who enjoy forced proximity, slow-burn connections, and a touch of vulnerability in their characters.

Thank you to NetGalley, Noelle Adams, and Victory Editing for the opportunity to review this early copy.

Very sweet little novella with strong characters. They spend almost the entire book talking and communicating with each other and Adams really thrives best with their banter and growing attraction.

I haven’t read an Adams book in a long time and I’ve missed it. Her writing is refreshing and charming with likable characters. I couldn’t imagine taking the same flights every weekend and sitting with the same guy. Their connection as strangers was a little stiff but soon blossomed into a sweet friendship. Being vulnerable about family and relationships made them closer. It’s a short enough novella I read in two days but could’ve been longer only because I enjoyed Isaac and River so much. My copy came through NetGalley and have written my review voluntarily.
