I’ve read most of this authors books and always thoroughly enjoy them. This was a thrilling psychological domestic thriller that kept me hooked from start to finish. It had some good twists that kept me reading right up to the last page

I have really enjoyed books by Nicole Trope in the past and whilst Welcome to West Street was good it wasn't as good as I was expecting. It was a little slow for my tastes and it felt like something I had read before, it didn't really stand out for me.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for my ARC.

This book had a good premise, but was another neighborhood drama book that I think I have read too many of. That being said, the ending made it worth the read.

Caroline has lived on West Street for many years, she is good friends with her neighbors, Mary and Gemma, they look out for each other.
Amanda is escaping her abusive husband, Mike. While he is away on a business trip, she packs what she can and moves to West Street with her children, Jordan and Kiera. Jordan is not happy and blames his mother for their situation.
Caroline tries to befriend Amanda, who is not accustomed to, and a bit wary, of this overly friendly neighbor. When Jordan goes missing, however, Amanda has no one but her new neighbors to turn to.
Nicole Trope has always been one of my go to authors for domestic thrillers. While I enjoyed this book, it wasn't one of my favorites by her. Not a single character was likeable and I didn't really feel like I got to know any of them on a deeper level. I also didn't find any of the twists to be all that surprising.
Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for the advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Today is our stop on the book tour for WTWS! This wasq a really good book - it offered so much; great, intriguing characters, with a storyline with lots of twists and turns, suspicions were rife, trust hard to come by and the alternating narration made for addictive reading. I found Amanda to be a strong relatable lead character and while the residents of West Street claimed little sympathy, they were interesting bunch who had some dark secrets that I enjoyed discovering.

With thanks to author #nicoletrope and Jess at #bookouture for asking us to take part!

Having inhaled every Trope book as soon as I am given the privilege of an advanced copy! Being super busy this has sat on my shelf for a bit longer than normal!
Told from the POV of a load of nosey neighbours and a terrified woman on the run from her husband, this had all the makings of a wicked little domestic noir!! Some bits were a bit predictable and others were a little far fetched, but that is what fiction it is! Pure escapism with a few juicy extras! Loved it!

Nicole Trope’s Welcome to West Street is a poignant, emotional novel that masterfully explores the lives of those society often overlooks. Set in a group home for troubled youth, the story invites readers into the hearts and minds of vulnerable teenagers and the adults trying to help them—sometimes with success, sometimes with heartbreak.

Told through multiple perspectives, the narrative shines with authenticity and deep empathy. Trope gives each character a distinct voice, allowing their pain, hope, and resilience to unfold naturally. As secrets are revealed and relationships develop, the novel underscores themes of trauma, trust, and the healing power of connection.

What stands out most is the humanity Trope brings to each character. The struggles faced by the teens on West Street are neither sugar-coated nor sensationalized. Instead, they are presented with compassion and a firm understanding of the lasting effects of neglect, abuse, and systemic failure.

Welcome to West Street is both tender and haunting, offering no easy answers but plenty of emotional insight. It's a powerful reminder of how crucial compassion, stability, and second chances are for those who have been pushed to the margins.

Twisty and tense domestic drama, everyone has secrets, some a lot bigger than others! Gotta watch those new neighbors, seem quiet and nice enough, but you just don't know what people are really like - everyone's idea of helping out can be quite different!

Interesting premise of a young mum trying to escape her abusive husband, and while she thinks she's found a quiet, safe place to hide, she's actually not so safe! Strange and dangerous neighbours complicate things and it all gets very dark and twisty. Really liked the angle of how the teenager creates additional trouble for his mum. A very good read!

I wanted more out of this book. It didnt have the wow factor that I was hoping for in a thriller. I thought it was more of a neighbourhood drama. Over the top and unrealistic which had me shaking my head.

Another enjoyable read from Nicole Trope. Every street has some good and not so good neighbours but West Street has some very unpleasant ones making this a great story

Quite often with thrillers I love them all the way through and then feel let down by the ending. But this was actually the other way round. It was quite slow going with nothing much happening until almost halfway through and none of the characters very likeable. But the ending was particularly clever in terms of why West Street.

This thriller hooks you with its story of a woman starting over in a quiet neighborhood that’s anything but peaceful. The writing is crisp and fast-paced, with a steady rhythm that keeps the tension building throughout. The characters, especially the MC, come across as genuine and complex, adding depth to the suspense. The well written characters have depth and personality which adds to the realism of the story and makes it easier to really get invested. While some twists are a bit expected, the overall story stays engaging until the last page.

An interesting and suspenseful read where your neighbours turn out to be not what they seem. Every street has neighbours that might be termed ‘nosey’ but West Street is much more than this.
When Amanda and her two children move into West Street to escape an abusive marriage it should be a fresh start.
What transpires is a tale of control, coercion and murder not to mention missing persons.
The chapters move between characters as the story unfolds and although I almost guessed the ending it was still an enjoyable read.

I've read several Nicole Trope books and although this wasn't my favourite I did enjoy it. It was full of suspense and twists and the POVs of the neighbours was just a great addition to the plot.

This story was such an unexpected surprise! When I started this book, I had no inkling that it would end the way it did!

Amanda and her two children are on the run from her abusive husband, and she's packed up their things and found a humble abode on West Street. While it's not the luxury she and her children are accustomed to, they are safe. Yet her son, Jordan, is very upset about having to leave his dad and will stop at nothing to be reunited with him, even risking his mother's safety.

Amanda quickly meets her neighbors who welcome her and her children with open arms. But what are the lengths that these neighbors will go to to protect their street and their secrets? From the reclusive woman next door to the nosy neighbor with her own pain tucked away behind judgment, every character felt real and flawed. Caroline was the nosey neighbor, Mary was in her own world most of the time, and Gemma appears to be hiding something. The secrets these neighbors are hiding blew my mind! I thoroughly enjoyed the fast paced plot and character development as I watched the details unfold.

There was plenty of drama, lies, secrets and betrayal in this twisty domestic thriller. Just when I thought I knew what was going on, another twist came and changed my perception of everyone and everything. This one was so good!

The twists and surprises!! My goodness! A small little town vibe with nothing but creepiness!! There were some VERY unlikable characters that you just really wanted to blame. It was a very Freida type read too. I’ve only read one other Nicole Trope book and it was pretty similar vibes to me. Worth the read. Thank you for allowing me to read it.

Amanda has just moved her and her kids to the cul-de-sac on West Street in hopes of fresh start. When her son goes missing her whole world is upended. Maybe one of her new neighbors saw something. Lots of twist that keeps you guessing til the end.
