This was my first book by this author but I would seek out others I understand she writes under another name and I would read these books as well

This was about Becky or Rebecca. The blurb sums up the story well - Becky definitely had a hard life - kept being forced from pillar to post and was badly treated by at least a couple of the ‘men’ she met along the way.
One was a really nasty creature and it’s testament to the authors writing skills that you really didn’t like the man and felt his comeuppance came in the way it should.
Becky did do well in life -she learnt to make delicious pies and with friends had a profitable business. She fell in love with Ben but let him go at one stage but fortuitously for Becky he came back at just the right time.and in time she fell in love with Gordon.
But sadness was to follow her about
The storyline with her grandfather felt slightly contrived and I would’ve liked to have known more about how he reacted to the ready made family he found - maybe that will come later?

Well written and well researched this was a book you didn’t want to put down - twists and turns made one want to read ‘just a little bit more ‘ then sadly it was finished.

Brilliant

It is 1876 and Rebecca is living in a little fishing village with her mother and father and two brothers .One night her father and brothers go out fishing and get caught in a storm and all are drowned.Rebecca and her mother Lydia are evicted from there cottage and taken in by Micheal Fox who runs the local brothel.Tragedy strikes again when Lydia is murdered by one of her customers, then begins Rebecca’s journey to get away from Micheal who wants to put her to work in the brothel even though she is only 11 years old. This is a brilliant story of what happens to Rebecca and Micheal Fox’s search for her.Thank you to Netgalley and Random House

A very emotional book to read about a young girl called Becky. She has a very hard life. luckily she is strong and survives all the setbacks. The book is easy to read and kept me enthralled from beginning to end. I do recommend that this book be read and l am looking forward to more books to read.

An emotional read it follows the life of Rebecca through the good times and the bad it shows how strong a person can be and the good and bad in people. A really good story. Thank you for advanced copy.

What a read, an emotional rollercoaster! It follows the life of Rebecca Wheeler, who it has to be said seems to live more than one life in her time. She is no stranger to sadness and danger. That said she does meet some lovely people, Seth & Celeste Matthew’s, Holly & Jeremiah Seymour . One thorn in her flesh is Mickey Fox, the proverbial bad penny.

My favourite character was Becky, least favourite was mr Osbourne.

I fully recommend it

This book had me gripped right from the beginning. Set in the 19th century with Rebecca as the central character, this story really makes you feel for all of the hardships and troubles that she endures. With no family to care for her, will she ever be able to escape the violent and evil Micky Fox? Will she ever be safe and content?
I definitely recommend A Locket Full of Hope. You’re going to need tissues for this one.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC.

oh i do love when these books are done well. as soon as i saw the cover i knew what type of books it was going to be. think Dilly court covers and go from there. like many in this genre with similar cover and then themes i loved it. they are somehow in a league of their very own. they just hold their own space with their own set of portrayed lives and characters.
there is always the space for new authors of this genre and for me Lily is most certainly one of them to be added to mine.
i loved this story. it has that element of loss, grief and then a turning of events. then there is the often baddy and then its all about how the characters are and meet along the way that shapes what comes next.
the characters in this book were just beautifully fleshed out. and yes, we might not all relate to life in a brothel lol, we do all relate to what a shared friendship and love can do to keep us going no matter what life throws at us. and i just adored the mother and daughter pair and those they then meet when they get thrown into this new world and new life.
this was full of heart and hope and love. love of many kinds. and i think its going to be a firm favourite of anyone like me who likes this genre.
wahoo. i do just love it when i get a new author to seek out more from.

Wow what a wonderful book, had me hooked right from the first page, stayed up most of the night to finish it.
Lydia and her daughter Rebecca had to move out of their home after her husband and sons were killed at sea, moving to a new town Lydia meets who thinks is going to be her saviour but instead turns out to be her worst nightmare. So much tragedy and heartbreak your willing the book to give Rebecca the happy ending she deserved. Lily Fielding is a new author to me and I can’t wait to read more. A well deserved 5 stars.
