I read the first book in the series ‘The Perfect Marriage’ and so was keen to read this next in the series…..11 years have passed and we meet the main characters,Sarah and her new husband Bob

However after Bob is caught cheating and Sarah’s life is turned upside down it then gets even more complicated when her ex husband Adam ( from Book 1 ) re appears on the scene with shocking consequences for Sarah

It really is a book of suspense, thrills, twists, turns and more twists and turns and you are kept on your toes as you never quite know what will happen next…to any of them

I enjoyed the writing and the unexpectedness of the plot and whilst can be read as a stand alone some readers may prefer to read both in order for clarity of the back story etc

This is a continuation of the story which began with the previous book in the series 'The Perfect Marriage'. I would recommend reading that first in order to understand the backstory of the characters.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for an arc in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me an e-arc in exchange for an honest review. I really liked The Perfect Marriage so I was interested to see a continuation of the story. In general this book was very easy to read, it had good pacing and I appreciated the different POVs throughout. However, so much of this book is so unbelievable. I understand its fictional. I should just go with the flow but I can't help but notice all of the issues. Like is EVERY MEMBER of the legal system that stupid that they cannot connect two very obvious dots together. It was entertaining but not as good as the first in my opinion.

I was lucky enough to be chosen to ARC read this book, so quickly bought and also read the prequel after reading others reviews, and I'm glad I did. Although I have seen people say you can read this as a standalone, I think the first book gives a lot of important background and also helps you to understand the characters and the relationship between them better.

Now onto the review. I am really torn because on the surface, I reallly enjoyed this book. I had a really good time reading it, I found it gripping and exciting and struggled to put it down. It was one of those books where the whole time you don't know who to trust, and I kept changing my mind on who the bad guy was.

Only for it to end... basically in the same way as the first book, finding out all along it was Sarah. My only issue with this is that, we read a lot of the story from Sarah's point of view, we are supposedly in her mind this whole time, and there is no suggestion that it is her until right at the end. We are hearing her inner thoughts and seeing her have conversations that, in hindsight, make no sense knowing it is her that is doing the bad things. I think the revelations would have been more effective if the story was told solely from Bob's POV, and then at the end Sarah's was introduced to reveal the truth.

Overall, I enjoyed the read and would definitely pick up more of Jeneva's books in the future, there is just a lot that fundamentally I think could make this book even better.

This is a brilliant, brilliant read! Jeneva Rose's writing just drew me in from the very first page and I found it really hard to stop reading; this is the ultimate page-turner.

Sarah Morgan is divorcing her husband, Bob. They are both lawyers, both clever and cunning, and each believes they are one step ahead of the other. 11 years ago, Sarah's first husband, Adam, was convicted of murder and she was his defence lawyer, but when new evidence emerges in his case and a woman goes missing, Sarah has a lot of plates to spin, adding to the intrigue of this multi layered and meticulously thought out plot.

There are so many mind-games at play, high octane drama, razor sharp dialogue and the twists! Ohhhh, the twists!

I absolutely recommend this for anyone who loves psychological thrillers, this is one that will really mess with your mind.

5 ⭐️ Thanks to Netgalley, Jeneva Rose and Orion for an ARC in return for an honest review.

What a wonderful read 😍 . This is my first read by Jeneva rose. This book is a sequel to perfect marriage, also can be read as a stand alone. Now I have read this arc am eager to read the prequel. I loved the character Sarah Morgan, don't have enough words to express the character. The story was fast paced with lots of twists . Especially towards the end I felt it was unputdownable. Overall it's a great read. I recommend this book for all the domestic thriller fans.

I was so excited to read this following on from the Perfect Marriage.

This story picks ups 11 years after the first book ended - and written in the same style with lots of short chapters, it was easy to read and I flew through it.

There’s quite a twist at the end of the first book, so without spoiling that here, this book plays even more in that twist.

I was constantly trying to guess what or who was going involved and going to happen next. The last few chapters were a whirlwind!!

I really enjoyed this, just not as quite a much as the first book, but a must read for anyone that loved The Perfect Marriage.

Thank you @netgalley for letting me read this ahead of its publication

This return to the world of Sarah Morgan is even better than the first book! Now that we know exactly what she's like, it adds a whole other layer to the twisted tale of deception and murder. No matter how devious she is, you can't help but root for her as she continually double crosses those around her and remains one step ahead of them all. I really enjoyed trying to guess how this would all come together in the end!

What makes this book so great is not the complexity of the plot, although that was pretty diabolical, it’s the absolute unhinged character of Sarah, who is literally an evil mastermind yet one I want to get away with murder all the time despite her not being all that likable.

I feel like it was an amazing choice to make this a multiple point of view story. It really let the reader appreciate the fear that Sarah puts them through, which in turn makes me almost want to be her..

This book is an audacious thriller and a surprising and delightful welcome addition to its prequel, The Perfect Marriage. I did not even know there would be a sequel, but I enjoyed The Perfect Marriage so much I thought I’d give this one a go. I was not disappointed. It didn’t just survive my expectations, it surpassed them.

Although I enjoyed the first book, A Perfect Marriage, I was much more engrossed in this one since it was so fantastic. The plot, which is full of twists and turns, begins a year after the events of the first novel. I kept wondering who would win because of the brilliantly plotted tension between the main characters. It has every bit of mystery and intrigue you could ever want in a book.

Unfortunately my enjoyment was limited as I hadn't read the first book in this series. It said it can be read as a standalone but I'd have to disagree. I enjoyed the writing style though. Thank you for the arc.
