The *Into the Dark* book club kit by Lisa Jewell is a fantastic companion for readers who enjoy diving deeper into their reading experience. I especially appreciated the thoughtful extras included—particularly the beautifully designed bookmarks, which added a fun, personal touch to the reading process. It’s a small detail, but it really enhances the overall feel of the kit and makes it feel special.
What stood out the most to me, though, was the list of suggested similar books to read. It’s a great resource for anyone who finishes *Into the Dark* and is craving more of that same suspenseful, twisty vibe. The recommendations were well-chosen and felt curated with fans of Lisa Jewell’s writing in mind. Overall, this book club kit is a great addition for group discussions or solo readers who want to linger in the world of the book just a little longer.

My review as someone that is NOT a Marvel person.

The first 30% of this book, I wasn't sure. I struggled to connect with it and I think I was looking for Lisa Jewell's usual style which seemed to be missing. Once I got over that and kind of tried to see the book for what it was I loved it.
Was it a Lisa Jewell classic, no. Did I still have a great time, yes.

I really loved this Book Club Kit! It was so fun and had a lot of really neat ideas. Although I really enjoyed this packet and loved everything in it, I really wish there were more bookmarks, and stickers.

I loved this book club kit! The discussion questions are great, and the interview with the author was very interesting to read. I particularly loved the recipes! I can’t wait to try them out.

This book club kit is a thorough guide and has great discussion prompts. Super excited to use this for our work book club 👍🏻

Can’t wait to read the new Lisa Jewel book and be able to use the book club kit with my book club friends! What an awesome and interactive kit for a group to use! Because who isn’t obsessed with Lisa Jewels writing anyway?! Super excited!

Since I do book clubs I am always looking for something to help me. I am always looking for discussions questions. This kit gives you more ideals besides just questions. It has an author interview, food suggestions and games you can do. There are more pluses to help.
There was a question I know I will be using in all my book discussions, which I would never of thought of. Thank you Lisa Jewell, We Are Bookish and NetGalley for the advanced reader’s’ copy.

I didn’t read this properly and thought it was the actual book. However such a clever idea I love the thought of these, the content was good and interesting. The activities with the book were very co ordinated and well thought out. They match the books style perfectly.

This is an excellent book club kit for Breaking the Dark! I appreciated the thoughtful content warnings as well as the link to Storygraph where readers submitted additional warnings. Hearing the author's perspective in Lisa Jewell's interview was interesting. In particular, I liked reading what it was like to write for Marvel. I'd love to know more about how much of her own voice vs. Marvel's was allowed to be in the book and how she balanced that.
I realize the colors of the book are black and purple, but I don't think the discussion questions on pages 7 and 8 should have had that dark background. If you're in a book club, like me, you probably like to print the questions to bring to the group. I'd be hesitant to print these, but a lighter background wouldn't waste so much ink.
I loved the links to the recipes, especially the black and white cookies and the mango smoothie, which I can't wait to try! The activities seem really fun too, and I will definitely try some. I also appreciated the book recommendations, though there didn't have to be so many. The only other thing I'd have liked to see would be a playlist based on the novel.
I personally could do without the bookmark and the word search. I feel like the bookmark isn't going to be of much use unless you happen to own a laminator, which I actually do, but I didn't want to waste the ink and have plenty of bookmarks already. I could find a word search anywhere, and I would buy this book club kit for everything above, not a word search. Plus, I think less can be more: 22 pages is a bit long. If someone is flipping through this at a bookstore or online, you want them to notice the best parts.

This book club kit is very detailed and has great discussion prompts and questions to get you thinking more about the book!

I didn’t realize what a kit was until I received it! Really cool concept with book recommendations and descriptions for each one. Printable crosswords and book marks. Really cool idea in my opinion.

Thank you Netgalley for the Book Club Kit. I loved the questions, and activities. It was very helpful, and I loved the short interview with Lisa.

Great kit for a book club! Brilliant amount of questions and activities. Particularly like the short interview with Lisa Jewell and also the recommendations on what to read next. Thanks netgalley!

I love all of Lisa’s books and this one was good. It kept me on edge. I loved all the characters, and the Jessica Jones story made it worth reading. The plot of the story was like a mystery but a Marvel with a more intense storyline. Since I love Marvels and I am a fan of comics I found the story to be a great read.
Thanks, NetGalley and Hyperion Avenue Publishers for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.

So interesting to read a book with a reading guide especially to discuss it with your friends afterwards

Loved this kit for Breaking the Dark! It's super informative and can maintain an interactive session with the resources. Very helpful and well thought!

Love this Kit! It has the perfect amount of information and fun activities and printouts for members to do, from thoughtful question to think about when reading, to activities that keep the information fresh in your mind as you read the book or just a s a refresher afterwards!

I love reading IP books and Breaking the Dark by Lisa Jewell is no exception. The kit includes an author interview, discussion questions, and more. I loved this book so much that I dived into the book club kit to reflect on my reading experience! I loved the book and the kit so much! Definitely recommend it!

I like the book club kit. I enjoyed the games. I need to read the book still. This will be helpful for when I read the book.

First off, the design is really nice and easy to read; everything’s nicely structured.
At the beginning, there are content warnings, which is a huge plus for readers.
There’s also an interview with the author. Then, there are a few discussion questions for the group to think about as they read. Plus, there are two questions straight from the author, which is another cool bonus.
I was also surprised to find some printed bookmarks included—what a nice touch! And there are links to a few snack and drink recipes!
There are several activities related to the book, so group members can really get into the vibe! Plus, there’s a word search included. There’s also a “what to read next” list with upcoming titles in the Marvel Crime series, along with more books by Lisa Jewell and from Hyperion Avenue to help decide what to dive into next.
Perfect companion for a book club!
