Great general advice about what to do if you have "blown" your diet. It has lots of reminders, lists, motivation, and information to help you get back on track. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC

I received an electronic ARC from Greenleaf Book Group Press through NetGalley.
Bennett takes an encouraging tone as she offers her plan to change readers' lives by losing weight. Her focus is on feeling healthier not the actual pounds. She takes us through a three week plan to adjust mind set and set new habits to feel better. At the same time, she affirms body images for all people as they are and as they want to be.
The information is shared in a simple to follow format and backed by research from a wide variety of sources. She advocates for a life style change not simply a diet plan.

As someone who has both blown their diet and dramatically declared it over mid-cookie, I felt deeply seen by this book. Connie Bennett delivers what feels like a warm hug and a pep talk—wrapped in real talk, sprinkled with humor, and served with a side of science.
This isn’t your typical “try harder” diet book. I Blew My Diet, Now What? is about coming back to yourself with compassion, not punishment. It’s about recovery, resilience, and the very real emotional journeys that shape our relationship with food. One line that hit especially close to home for me was: “After I lost my mother, I lost myself.” That grief, that sense of disorientation—it’s something I’ve felt too, and seeing it acknowledged so honestly made me feel understood in a way most books like this don’t.
The tone is honest, quirky, and encouraging—like a friend who brings snacks and boundaries. I laughed, I nodded, I might have highlighted half the book. Whether you’re restarting for the 1st or 47th time, this book helps you do it with compassion and clarity.
Thank you to NetGalley, Greenleaf Book Group Press, and author Connie Bennett for the privilege of receiving this ARC in exchange for an honest review. I’ll be recommending it to anyone who’s ever said, “Welp… I blew it,” and needed a better answer than just giving up.

The way this book is divided makes is very easy and quick to read. One thing I wasn’t expecting was the author to talk about Napoleon Hill and visualisation in regards to weight loss which I appreciated.
I do think the recipe chapter should have been before the meal plans and shopping lists or at least done differently, like shopping list with recipes and then meal plans would have been less confusing.
Some of the products however I will never find in my part of the world but still, I did really like the recipes and I’m excited to try some of them out.

In I Blew My Diet! Now What?, Connie Bennett brings a personal and relatable touch to a topic many struggle with: falling off the diet wagon and finding the strength to get back on. After a heartbreaking period of caregiving and grief, Bennett—who had maintained a strict sugar-free, gluten-free lifestyle for over a decade—found herself gaining weight and losing control. Her vulnerability in sharing that experience sets the tone for this recovery-focused guide.
The book is structured around understanding the “why” behind diet failures, offering 21 possible reasons for falling off track, and then equipping readers with FEASTS—Fast, Easy, Awesome, Simple, Tested Strategies—to bounce back. While the approach isn’t groundbreaking, the format is accessible, practical, and peppered with a compassionate voice that feels more like a supportive friend than a drill sergeant.
One of the standout features is Bennett’s unique “Hum-Hug-Rock Relief Process” designed to naturally boost oxytocin, as well as her focus on healing not just the body but also the heart and mind. The inclusion of cartoon illustrations also lightens the mood and makes some of the more emotional content easier to digest.
That said, the book doesn’t stray too far from typical self-help and diet recovery formulas. While it’s encouraging and well-organized, I was hoping for more new insights or a truly different perspective. Still, for those looking for a gentle, motivating reset with a bit of personal touch, I Blew My Diet! Now What? can be a helpful companion on the road to wellness.

Gave me good insight in to why I eat the way I do and practical tips on how to curve some unhealthy habits of mine to become a healthier version of myself.
Layout of the book was well organized and this would be great for those who are even starting to get back into their reading journey. Great meal plans and recipes included that I will definitely use in the near future!
Thank you to NetGallery and Connie for the chance to read this book!

This book had too many anecdotes that o had to sift through to get to the valuable diet advice I was looking for. There were some good tips and information once I did that.

It gave good advice to help with cravings that I will take however I felt some of the feedback could be unrealistic when trying to implement. Into a day to day routine.

It’s not just a diet book—it’s part self-help, part wellness roadmap, and all about making sustainable, healthy choices. Bennett takes a compassionate approach, sharing relatable anecdotes and clear explanations about why traditional diets often fail and how to reset your mindset and habits for long-term success.
This book is perfect for anyone who’s ever felt discouraged by failed diet attempts. It’s encouraging, fun to read, and packed with practical tips—from kitchen hacks to delicious recipes (the garlicky basil cream sauce and Moroccan cottage pie are standouts!). I also loved learning about new ingredients like Za’atar.

I Blew My Diet! Now What? has a clear layout for working through why we can't keep to diets and how to do better next time. There are also helpful tips and recipes.

This book goes over some of the reasons so many people struggle with their diets. There are offers of attainable solutions to these issues that anyone could achieve. The author really breaks this down and gives insight to a few things that I didn’t consider with my dieting issues. There are meal plans in the book with grocery lists that are easy to follow.

Eu não gostei muito do livro "I Blew My Diet! Now Want?" porque ele parece focar demais em restrições alimentares, o que pode ser frustrante para quem busca uma abordagem mais equilibrada. Além disso, algumas das afirmações sobre nutrição parecem baseadas mais em experiências pessoais do que em evidências científicas sólidas. No entanto, a autora compartilha sua jornada de maneira sincera, o que pode ser inspirador para alguns leitores. No geral, acho que o livro poderia ser mais útil se abordasse as complexidades da alimentação de forma mais profunda e diversificada.

I started reading this book while shamefully eating a family size bag of crisps . However when I finished the book I felt like I had a much better insight into my eating habits and how to prevent quite a lot of them.
